Why Laurie Strode and not using Angel Myers name in the game?

    Simple.
    Babies learn to recognize their name, but Cynthia/Angel (Depending on the timeline) never really learned her name when her parents died in (I believe, could likely be wrong) a car crash. She instead learned her name as Laurie Strode.
    And I think we can confirm that DBD follows the original timeline (1 & 2 I think) due to in game dialogue, correct me if I'm wrong on that.

    Halloween 2 made Laurie his sister. Rob Zombie's Halloween made this more obvious when he had young Michael sitting calmly with baby Laurie (something that would make no sense later). I like the sister angle, it actually gives Myers a reason to continually come for Laurie and relatives. Without that, why her? Why not any of the other people who escaped in the first film.

    Halloween 2018 was a sequel to Halloween 1978 and ignored everything else.

    First of all, the Halloween DLC was inspired by the first Halloween film, in which Laurie wasn't Micheal's sister (well, it still wasn't revealed) and so she was only known as Laurie Strode.
    Second, the name "Angel" was given to Laurie's character in the Rob Zombie remakes, instead in the first films her "real" name was Cynthia; I guess they wanted to keep the storyline of the first film.

    The Halloween Chapter follows the original time line, in which Michael's younger sister Cynthia was put into protective foster care after their parents died in an accident. Her foster parents Morgan and Pamela Strode renamed her to Laurie following adoption and of course she's also take on their family name with it.

    I can see two possibilities. I havent watched the movies, this is based on what I have read about them, so sorry if there are any mistakes.

    • They were using the original timeline as a base, ignoring the remakes, which means Angel Myers does not exist.
    • Survivors need to be old enough. "Angel Myers" technically refers to the baby Laurie, and "Laurie Strode" is the grown up version.

    Maybe the in-game character biography will tell you which timeline they follow, but as I said, I dont know the movies.

    "Angel" isn't even cannonically her name. It was the name that Rob Zombie picked for his remakes because Rob Zombie is a weird man who makes weird music videos.
    Laurie isn't credited as "Angel Myers" in the credits of any movie, even Rob Zombie's movies. She's credited as Laurie Strode.
