This seems like an odd thing to punish.

It feels weird that killers lose points for survivors healing. If I am forcing altruism, they aren't doing generators. This gives me more time to hook.
There are even perks to help force survivors to heal. So you have a play style that you are are punishing. Seems odd. And you can lose a sizable chunk of points this way. Enough for it to be a pip.

In fact, if you don't tunnel someone out of the game before they heal, you lose points as a killer. And i'm pretty sure that's something the survivors hate.

So, am I the only one that thinks this?

I don't see how this ranking system is any better than what we had before.

You gain one point for hitting them, and you lose one point for them getting healed. Even if they're unhooked and healed, you still gained 3 points in Malicious (2 hits, 2 points for a new hook stage, -1 for them getting healed).

If you hook someone three times to kill them then you get 10 Malicious (out of 36 for Iridescent) from that survivor. It doesn't matter if they get healed or not, the net result of a 3-hook sacrifice is 10, a 2-hook sacrifice is 9, and a 1-hook sacrifice is 8. So if anything, it punishes you for camping.

If you hit someone and then lose them, it's a net zero score... you got a point for hitting them, you lost that point when they healed.

The only other way to lose points is if someone escapes your grasp, in which case you lose the point you gained when you downed them. The end result of a sacrifice is the same 10 points.

It better masks the inabilities of killer.
Now killer can get a participation trophy if they had been unable to kill anybody.

To be fair, the entire ranking system needs some reworking. I feel like it's still a little to easy to rank up as killer and as survivor.

Removing the blackpip would be already good if the purpose of the rankingsystem is really to let people on the same skill level playing. Blackpips are the reason of boosted players

    This ^^ Exactly this ^

It's literal only function is covering up how weak the killers are. "well we don't wanna make the killers strong so instead we'll just change what winning means" - devs. So now instead of thinking you won or lost based on kills we'll make them think they won because of points even though they killed no one. EVERYONE WINS!

The killer doesn't win. Even poorly played killers can now rank up and are forced to play with more skilled survivors, no matter how bad we are. Ranking up is not a reward.

It is extremely hard NOT to rank up, or even derank. You'd almost have to....dare I say it...TRY to derank.

You also get participation trophies for killing people (or even lose rank, i actually safety pipped with a 2k last night, and you almost always lose rank if you only got 1k. the emblem system is very flawed.)

edit: Also I'm pretty sure Adrenaline Rush automatically costs the killer emblem points, with nothing the killer can do, because it litterally autoheals.

You also get punished for DS as well. No one managed to hop off my shoulder throughout the game except for the obsession. Not exactly complaining tbh because ranking up or black pipping as killer is extremely easy unless you're faced with a sweaty coordinated swf.

Yeah it's not to hard to black pip. but it's still rather silly to take points from the killer for things like that.
