Imagine you use this on the game map or on shelter woods. I wonder where the bloody basement could be....
Why have this, which is the least used offering in the game when we can have something like brown firecrackers. They're already the hardest item to use in the game and they're quite fun. Unlike something like this.

Seems like they are saying this offering is pointless (which I think survivors may also be able to offer if I remember correctly) and they would rather fireworks be in the game more regularly.
I do agree Fireworks would be good in the game regularly. It just doesn't make sense to me how rare they are offered. They could use some addons to them as well

The least used offering in the game.
I've seen only the shack one used in like 200+ matches.
I remember people saying they were utterly useless. Yet here we are again, BHVR added them anyway.

It and the hatch one are dumb tbh controlling the basement gives no value unless your a killer. Controlling the hatch gives way to much value as survivors always run this offering with a key to guarantee someone escapes.

OP is referring to the new-ish offering that reveals the aura of basement hooks at the start of the game. You're thinking of the hatch spawn offering.
At topic: Knowing where the basement is can be important depending on who the killer is. Many killers are a lot more dangerous if they get a basement hook.
If it's Bubba, Trapper, Hag etc you will definitely want to avoid the basement at all times so this offering can come in handy.

The hatch one is relatively useful... to one side at least.
I see a key? I wonder what offering they're gonna use, oh boy. Even if there's no key involved, all this offering does is start a race to the location of the hatch and try to guess where exactly is gonna spawn. Even then, it's BS since it rewards lucky guessing.... Unless the killer is standing on it if he can see it.
However THESE OFFERINGS? They are utterly trash.
Just give me the 50% BP bonus offering instead pls.

For very specific killers it might be OK-ish
Then again.
Why use this offering when u can use a map offering that would benefit you more & not risk getting sent to Midwhich / Game map or whatever. Even then, if you use basement offering for main building you'll probably get shelter woods.
Even then, with time, maps will get smaller and smaller and you'll know very shortly where the basement is. That is, if u have 2 braincells lefts and can connect two and two together - "Basement is not in shack... must be in main building" - You'll get this info eventually regardless.

Yeah the basement ones useless. Personally i don't like the idea of the hatch one as one drawback to keys is supposed to be rng hatch spawn. If a survivor has a key and they say do 3 gens and i kill 2 people i know the key users out. Or its a swf someone will pick up the key off their body. No way around it. But i guess its better than survivors hiding 5 minutes looking for it.

Devs needed more control over the exact lighting they decide to set in each map, and Moonlight offerings were making this harder to accomplish.
In my opinion, they should bring them back as soon as the map reworks are done.
