Ebony mori as base kit?

Some moris look so nice and it is obvious that they put the effort in creating them, but we hardly see them at all. I don't think it would be too strong and before people start calling me a killer main, I only play survivor now and I still think it would be fair. PH already has something similar but making him also be able to mori without using his power would not be that bad imo.

Moris look nice and contribute to the horror atmosphere. I am kinda sad how neglected they are. I am interested what others think.

Tunneling off second hook would now be huge, especially with ds being nerfed soon.

Additionally, this will slim the meta down even further for survivor perks. Sabo builds for example, would be much less useful if you can only attempt at most twice per survivor

It would fully eliminate the chance for survivors to escape on death hook. Sometimes you down someone on death hook and that walk to the hook is their final chance at living. Basekit moris would get rid of that completely.

It does kinda suck that moris were nerfed and you rarely see them now, but yea, basekit is too much

Mori is like a treat. Seeing it to much would lessen it

I don't know if you've heard, assuming by your reaction you haven't, but now if you do anything to progress the game (work on a gen, heal another survivor, cleanse a totem e.t.c) it instantly deactivates. A positive change in my books.

Yea. DS went from being always active, to only activating for 60 seconds after getting unhooked, to instantly deactivating if you perform an active action after getting unhooked (Still active for 60 seconds otherwise). The last nerf goes live with the new chapter

The only Mori that would be fine to become basekit would be Cyprus Mori.

Cypress mori should be base kit, but not Ebony.

I always say yes to more mori. it was rare before but after the "rework" it became unicorn like.

I just enjoy the animations so much :(

I think moris do need a buff but this isn't what I'd want. I think the worst mori offering should be base while the others get down to 1 hook requirement over 2. Ebony being basekit I don't think would honestly change a whole lot. It's not that good but I'd want moris to be much more useful aside from this

Moris already had a one hook requirement before this recent nerf, so I'm sure they aren't going back to that

Huh did they? I just got back into dbd. Before you could just straight up go for kills with ebony right out if the gate lol

Yea, you've been out of the loop for a long time then, haha. I started playing in 2018 and Moris have always had a 1 hook requirement as far as I was aware. I think 2 months ago is when they changed it to 2 hooks

Dang....hmmm I guess for me i still want the one hook requirement but expect it not to happen though.

Right now they feel like the least useful offering. Id rather take anything else honestly

I think Cypress should be basekit, but Ebony would really encourage tunneling.

The Entity encourages you to make sacrifice, to play the game to feed them, you are not rewarded as highly for a Mori, they should stay as is.

If you consider that destroying then you must be bad at survivor. No offence.

You were already hooked twice and you are most likely dead if the killer finds you next anyway. How many second chances do you need?

Honestly ebony I don't think would change tunneling much since right now it's not really any better than a normal hook. You score less with a mori than a hook, you very likely spend more time moring than just bringing to hook (which in turn causes other survivors to get more done), you don't really benefit gamwplaywise with it, and you could have used a more impactful offering. It's true you could get ds without mori or body blocked but body block is easy to avoid (as well as flashlight saves) and most people I've seen us ds after first hook anyways. Moris right now are pretty worthless. With ebony mori you drop 7k to get it but you gain less using it versus regular hooks, the animation takes longer than walking to a hook, and survivors will get more done during your animation than if you just walked (which causes your BP to be less as well since they are doing better).

Being tunneled has nothing to do with moris right now. I could see that being the case if they were 1 hook requirements though. People will tunnel with or without mori right now though. Even with ebony mori it would actually be weaker for the killer to tunnel with ebony than to just play the game normally

Fair enough I was just adressing that "destroying" is overreacting. Sorry if I was a rude, my bad.

No because killers will camp and tunnel a lot more.

Mori's bypass nearly all of the high risk, high reward interactions Survivors can do to try to save someone who'd otherwise get killed. That includes but is not limited to, Flashlight/Firecracker saves, Sabo saves, Body Blocks, and Break Out shenanigans. Giving the killer a way to freely bypass all of those mechanics for 25% of the hooks is not a good idea.

However... I would like to point out that the Cypress Mori has no such issues. There's no one else left in the game to perform those interactions. If the last Survivor is on the ground and the killer is on top of them... they're basically dead. The only way they aren't is through ridiculously dumb luck, liberal 2nd chance perks, and really shouldn't happen. Letting the Killer end the game with some style points seems largely harmless.
