Unfair matchups
Is it known that the match making has been terrible lately?
As a rank 16 survivor who gets put with other rank 16 survivors, I hate it to be put up against killer of rank 12 and higher... Like why? We aren't that skilled or much played people. Why the unfair match making?
Same goes for killers. Being rank 20 matched up against rank 1-6 survivors like why? What is the point of this broken match making?
You either get put up against people that are either higher or lower rank thank you and it just ruins the whole game. Especially when against a higher rank player (with much more experience etc)

For matchmaking? Because there's no easy solution. If there's only red ranks playing at that moment, then you'll be paired up with red ranks. Matchmaking could be improved if you don't mind waiting twice as long or more for a match.
Deranking you three stages? Yeah that would be a bug, and that would need fixing. But it's low priority as they're planning on completely changing the ranking system soon.

It's been like this for over two years by now with varying degrees of problematic.
The devs are saying that they working on a mmr system similar to other pvp games.

Something needs to change. I'd rather wait an extra minute for survivors near my skill than get a lobby of rank 10-13s and snooze my way through it. There was one game in particular last night where it was so immediately obvious that the survivors were babies that I did M2 only Pyramid Head and still 4k'd at 5 gens.

I think it probably has something to do with the available player pool, & maybe how easy it is to rank up as survivor. I rarely play survivor, only to do rift challenges, & I’m rank 5, and truly suck as a survivor. I’m just guessing though, I played a game against yellow, & brown ranks that should have never happened, but maybe that was all that was available to play me at the time.

A bit ago I was yellow rank against an entire team of red rank 1 or 2 players who I think may have been swf. Unfortunately I was wraith so I had a very bad time.....

It´s a known issue that has something to do with the general lack of killers.
Soon they will introduce the MMR and remove ranks.

I feel like people overestimate the numerical ranks people have
I've lost games (4 escapes) as a rank 8 killer against rank 16-13 and 4k'd games with rank 1-2 survivors
It's not completely irrelevant, but a lot of the time, people within like 5 or so ranks of you are probably pretty close to your ability. Sometimes equal playtime doesn't equal same skill. Sometimes the rank 20 is just a high rank player who hasn't played in a while. Sometimes the rank 16 is way worse than the rank 3, but not everytime

im glad they are now introducing a skill-based matchmaking. Should be more fun and challenging than being matched up against people who are too good or too bad for you
