Is this toxic?

Just played a game as hag on Haddonfield using undying + devour and in the end game chat a survivor I had mori'd who hadn't been hooked prior called me toxic for killing them using devour. I talked with them a bit in end game chat and to be honest I do kind of see where they were coming from. In that situation I downed them while I had 4 stacks of devour and knowing someone was by another hooked survivor I picked them up to bait them into unhooking by making them think I wasn't going to wait for a 5th stack. Then I dropped the survivor and mori'd them right after. I am genuinely curious how toxic this is cause I realized that I would also be frustrated if that's how I died and I do feel a little bad cause despite the person calling me toxic they seemed pretty nice in end game chat.

I don't believe that to be toxic. If they knew you had devour, they really should have been focused on finding the totem. If they didn't know, then your mindgame was essentially meaningless and wouldn't have fooled them since they didn't know there was fooling to be done

They actually did know that I had devour since it had been revealed but I guess that's more on them for not looking for the totems.

I never said they didn't know, I'm saying if they knew earlier they'd have got rid of it. If they found the totem early on, they'd destroy it without hesitation. If they found it after discovering devour, again, they'd destroy it instantly. Would that be toxic? it wouldn't be fun for you, but it's not toxic, they're playing to win, just like you.

Next time someone is toxic about you using devour, just tell them to destroy the totem. Or just say "gg ez"

That really puts it on them even more. If you know devour is on the 4th stack, and you don't clean the totem before the unhook, you are basically asking to get the mori. It's not a new perk, unless they were brand new players they should understand how the perk works and adapt accordingly.

Not toxic at all. I had more complaints in chat after a Silent Tombstone match than a match with Devour.

They get an information at 3 tokens that you have Devour Hope. Their top priority should be finding the totem then.

In my 3.6k hrs I got mori'd with Devour in different situations many times. I never thought of this being toxic even when I was new.

Some players just say something is toxic because they think it's unfair. They want you to follow their rules. Don't do that.

Play fair and have fun. But don't let them do what they want for free.
