I'm swapping to a survivor main
Honestly cant enjoy killer at high mmr, when theres no weak link to even start pressure you physically cannot get lots of hooks etc. Without slugging maybe if they balance around high level I'll play killer but if it remains how it is atm I'll main survivor. It's not fun to play certain killers as well as possible and still lose and feel weak, I want to play for fun and just because I'm good at the game I'm forced into unfun and unfair games and it's just not for me. I hope, you balance at high level now especially around base gen regression and kicks as a minimum

This game isn't balanced for 12 hooks. Takes way too long to achieve and gens go to fast.

On the games you win, give hatch occasionally, and if its looking like a total domination (e.g. you have 2 people dead and there's 4 gens left), maybe meme a bit, let them do some gens, and maybe even escape. Perhaps that will help lower your MMR a bit and keep some more manageable games amongst the sweat matches.

Playing solo survivor is a downgrade tho.
Don't think it's easier than playing killer. You have multiple things you have no control over.
12 -
It's considerably less stressful though, and the fact you have no control over many variables makes it ultimately easier to handle/justify any loss.

Yeah mate, gave up Killer a little while back and the games are sooo much more fun!
edit
In fact, THANK YOU for introducing the mechanic to tell me how badly I am doing, to make me realise I am wasting my time playing Killer; let some other sap take the brunt.

Well with mmr people do gens means easy af games, I can lead on chases for minutes on end and usually no gens get done, now every chase is 3/4 gens, I play for fun and yeah I'm good and competitive but I'm not going to sweat and rage to try and win if it stops me having fun
I'll play when mmr is off but when its put back on I wont, games are me5to be fun not make you feel like ######### even if you play insanely well. I hate how survivors can do bad chases but still rush through the game because their objective is fast and easy

If nothing else, you can be 100% sure you won't get brainless teammates every game as Killer.
5 -
your teammates give you a headache

Killers all but rely on survivor mistakes to get a win. If you have survivors hitting jungle gyms just right and not making mistakes, there's literally nothing the killer can do. Too much of that sinking feeling and it'll turn off any potential killer player.

Play as solo survivor and i wanna see you again really. But not yellow or green ranks. Purple and red. You will see this game how much terrible... Solo surv is worst thing in that game.
2 -
Well i hope because i bored carry my teammates. When MMR will come?

Well that is explain why i had to really good killers today. I played 10 matches today, 9 of them was against really good killers.

It isn't on.

I have been a solo rank 1 survivor for 4+years, I know every tile and how to run them, all totem spawns and I dont rely on meta perks, survivor is easy to do. Most games are multiple mins of chase and doing most gens so mmr will just make my survivor life easier...
Yeah got turned off last afternoon (uk time)

We’re seeing years of complaints about the balance and high level play brought out into the open. Everything thats being exposed with MMR is what the top players have said since 2016.
It’s ok though, I’m sure the designers will take a look at their spreadsheets and disagree. Then they’ll scratch their heads when killer numbers drop even further once MMR is brought in. They sure as hell won’t be making any major balance changes so I would encourage people not to get their hopes up as you will only be severely disappointed.

I'd offer to play SWF with you! Gotta find some fun in our lives somehow.
But thanks for being part of the killer queue for the time you did. I like to think killers are way more valuable than the saturated survivors. Games wouldn't be possible without you, rank or not.

I wish I could be that hopeful lol, but every time I think the devs add something new and interesting it always seems to be a negative for killers, for example gear head nerfed for no reason, breakable walls have to be broken to stop god loops etc. Trickster changes, so far useless against high skill and nerfed his strongest addon but maybe you'll be right
Well I can have fun as a solo survivor and even killer when it's not all fast gen games with little freedom, I'm great at chases but ffs when I down players fast I dont expect the gens to still fly by and slugging, tunneling and 3gen every match isn't fun even more so as weaker killers. Played both roles as rank 1 for 4+years, play the weaker killers for fun and because you hardly see them but with mmr it's not fun and balanced for it. Might see you playing survivor though so see you in the fog :)

That is also what the streamers say. The game is not balanced around top players and once the MMR stays, all the sweaty SWF groups will get the same killers over and over.

Good mindset to have :) I always like seeing players prioritize fun over strategic play, or an uncommon killer. (was talking to my friend that we haven't seen oni in ever, so he went and bought oni himself lol)
If MMR ever puts yellows and reds together again, maybe I will see you lol, but in the meantime I hope you have a ton of fun chases!

You mean to tell me that the game balanced for an average of 2 kill 2 escapes isn't balanced for 12 hooks. I think too many killers get used to 3/4Ks in beginner ranks where killer usually dominates and take that as the standard. It's just a problem with the early game.
Jokes aside, same here OP. Kind of disillusioned with killer right now but for different reasons. Just not really having fun anymore. Might just be burnout. Hope you've got friends though. Solo is a real test of your patience.

But then survivors cry, moan and kick and scream when they get tunnelled or camped.
Either way, you can't win because you either fail to win the game, or all the survivors start telling you how awful a human being you are.

Playing solo can guarantee you hard games as well but a little less harder. Swap to survivor and experiment. maybe you'll like it more.

I don't get Scott. He finally admits openly that Nurse & Spirit are the only 2 viable killers, and yet half the time he does more to influence killer nerfs than anyone else.

I can.
Personally I think the game should lean slightly towards survivors. Too much of a requirement for teamwork leads to deathgarden, a game you only play if you have a group.
It doesnt mean that I think that survivors are in a perfect state. People will say that survivors have been consistently nerfed but that only sounds terrible if you didn't know that those changes only made sentient survivors actually mortal.

Probably because he's aware that thats only at the top level of play which an absolutely miniscule amount of players actually play at, even less in actual public matches.
If he believed that were the case altogether he wouldn't be playing and winning with Wraith and Oni as often as he does on stream. And I'd say he's up there with Otz as the most impartial public figure in this community in regards to balance.

But these guys sit and play DBD all day every day. They're the equivalent of these strong survivor groups, so them winning with low tier killers against average players game after game and going on huge winstreaks isn't a realistic experience for the average killer either. Heck I've seen all of these good players lose hard when they play low-mid tier.
In general though it's widely accepted that a number of killers have a cap to how good they perform.
1 -
Good, let the sweaty swf suffer against Nurse and Spirit over and over.
1 -
Yes but with a killer as simple as Wraith or any killer that doesn't require significant time to learn like Nurse, for example. Anything they can do a reasonably experienced killer could do also. Red stain mindgames aren't exclusive to streamers. Looking away as to not trigger Spine Chill whilst running to a gen isn't exclusive to them. I picked up on them pretty quickly back when I started. Anyone can win with low tiers in pubs or against average players.
In 2021 you're more likely to win a killer game than not. Assuming you're even half decent. The SWF squads of the past aren't as common. Mainly because a lot of them were carried by the pallet vacuum, old BT and old DS. There are still god tier survivors but they are extremely few I know a few who simply quit as the game got old.
I don't even consider losing now when I play killer and load in. I can't remember the last time I saw someone actually make it out an exit gate and I almost exclusively play low and mid tiers and don't use much slowdown if any at all. I play this game a lot, maybe not as much now as I used to but I have a lot of hours on killer, and I haven't played a true sweat squad, the kind where I felt my lower tier killer was powerless, in close to a year maybe more. Not saying thats a bad thing but when every match becomes as one sided as most are for me nowadays it makes killer very boring.
Even if it were just because these guys were streamers.... why's that a problem? All the other killer mains on this forum jump down my throat when I say balancing around the 1% is a bad idea. I see more players are for that than against it here. And there's no way in hell more than half the people saying that are close to being considered that good.

He probably didn´t enjoy the MMR Test at all and sees what the future has prepared for him and everyone who plays DbD for a living. Maybe he thought killers needed nerfs to be enjoyable on low ranks.
But the game never should have been balanced around low ranks. No competitive pvp game does that.
1 -
As long as you do gens and try your best I'll play with any rank, you dont need to be amazing for me to enjoy playing with people I only get annoyed when people don't do anything lol. But I feel that's a big difference between when I play swf and others, people always try get the best of the best instead of having fun and playing with people they actually know or have fun with. But hopefully we do get miss match lol, I'll sabo save you it's my special thing which died out years ago

That's sorta what makes it fun. How the game was intended prior to SWF implementation. & when a team of all solos come together, coordinate and get out together, its very satisfying. Ofc it brings added frustration as well but overall it is rewarding (at high ranks).

I want to but the wait times are atrocious for survivor.

Exactly, when a perfect endgame save from basement etc. All working out without coms feels good, not only that everyone has different skills and perks which mixes it up even more for fun
So can my killer games at the off peak times, rather wait for fun than not have any at all, besides I can do irl things while waiting
