Let Me Get to Second Hook? You’ll Pay for That
Just had a match where I got hooked and watched as my three teammates each worked on gens separately. Not even bothering to come get me. Finally after I got to second hook I saw one coming for me, with the Killer right behind her. So I waited till she got close and killed myself right before she got to me. And she got downed by the Killer. If you aren’t going to help your teammates then I won’t be a team player.

I'm sure they've learned their lesson

Sadly, this is probably a case of the survivors having a lack of information.
It's quite common to be all on a generator with the mindset of "someone else will get them" which in return leads to no one going.
Kindred is fantastic for this, since not only does it help you, it helps others make better choices. It's a must have perk for solo queue.

I guess. Made me feel better.

It felt like she was coming to save me with the killer behind her as a last ditch effort. Like if I take him off the hook he will just go for him again and I’ll get away. She was already injured and then came to me. I didn’t want to give her that.

Depending on the situation, gens remaining, ruin in play, etc. its very likely I would have left you there a while (though generally would try to unhook before second stage). If you didn't have kindred you can't be too upset they weren't coordinated.
Your actions however were petty and childish. The survivor was likely coming with the intention of trading hook's with you and at least giving you a chance (bt, ds, adrenaline, etc) and you decided to screw them over for even trying to help. if anything you've taught them to never bother to save randos because they'll likely screw ya over

Run Kindred next time. You can't expect other survivors to know what to do if you don't provide some information.

That's really selfish dude. It is SoloQ, you should know better. Run Kindred next time and stop killing yourself on hook just because you're upset.

tbh at least they were doing gens, it isnt rare for me to go 2nd phase when survs are crouching around (across whole map)
and ofc in that situation im not struggling

Let me get to second hook at the start of the match? Only one gen done? No thanks. I don’t want to be in the match anymore anyway. I would be dead before I could help even if she took me off hook.

When I was in your position, I stayed alive as long on hook as I could so they could gen rush. They rescued me when I was well into my second hook state, and I managed to get out in the end. So yeah, maybe you just cost your team the game.

Only one gen was done by the time I got to second hook. No way they could gen rush and save me after.

Maybe kindred minus the killer aura should be base kit then.
1 -
it was going to be 3 gens done and a fourth one well underway if you cared to think about anyone other than yourself. if you managed to escape the killers desire to murder you, you can be on the fifth one and guess what? everyone lives.
3 -
I agree, I think OP's situation is a classic example of the bystander effect.
2 -
Only one gen was done and they were working on gens while I was on second hook and still weren’t getting any done. There was no way I was going to get out of there due to them not coming for me. If I’m left to die on first hook then I don’t care if they die either.

It takes a minute and 20 seconds to finish a gen. Going to second hook takes 1 minute. If you got down very quickly and they finally got on gens, it would still take another 10-20 to finish the gens, especially if Ruin is active. Ruin would have killed those gens from 99% to 0% in about 35 seconds. Gotta be patient.

Until it works against you. Countless of times I will see them group up and heal instead of saving me, causing me to either die or go to the 2nd stage.
Love the perk and always run it playing solo, but that's also a downside to it. ;(

Laughs in Kindred.
I still get to second stage most of the time even with Kindred equipped.
Does want me to never play Survivor ever again.
1 -
Doesn't mean you didn't cost your team the game. :P If you had died naturally instead of suiciding on hook, then you'd have every right to be upset.

I’m not going to help my team by staying till I die while they didn’t help me at all. I’m not getting BP while on hook and I’m not going to let them acquire all the BP and escape. If they aren’t going to be team players I’m not either.

Again, I would say you were more responsible for screwing the team over than they were. Thumbs down.
2 -
Again. I think you’re wrong and don’t know what you’re talking about. Thumbs down.

10/10 sandbagging

Depending on the situation, i do it aswell.
Even if don't run Kindred and see a survivor not getting saved after half of the stage (1 or 2) is done i'll usually move and go save them, if someone else get them during that time then i go back on gen. It doesn't take much effort to move out of a gen and run toward the hooked survivor. Yeah you waste a little bit of time if they get rescued before you arrive but at least you MOVED.
I'll particulary will let go in their face if i saw them crouching around while i'm on hook or not doing anything the whole game, or even worse : if i unhook them and it's safe to heal and they just run away from me and self-care in my face.
I'm a nice person, and a nice player but if you don't have manners or team spirit i don't see how i should be a teamplayer with you ;)
In the end, survivors can choose to be selfish or teamworking to win. Depending on the situation i will choose a path :)

Maybe she also thought to herself "hey, I'm hurt but I have BT, we can get this done before he dies on the hook?".
She might also have considered a swap so that the Gens could finish and she could be rescued by you afterwards?
Don't always assume the bad when there are plenty of antimates out there, too. :)
3 -
Once again though, they let me go all the way to second hook. So my confidence and trust in this team was low
1 -
Exactly.

Yes, I know that sucks - but I still try to believe in the good in people and maybe she was trying to help you with BT. Giving up is always bad and I've had cool rounds even though I got to second hook status. Partially the whole team then wrapped me in absorbent cotton and protected me the rest of the round.
There are sometimes reasons why a rescue has to wait - be it because Ruin is on it.
In any case, always (!) take Kindred with you.

May i ask 4 questions?
1. How early in the match did you go down? I'm guessing within the first 40s since only 1 gen was done between your hook and 2nd stage (60s and a gen takes 80s)
2. Who was the killer and how did you go down? Was it a Bubba, or an M1 killer like Doctor? If it was an Insidous Bubba, I'd be hesitant to come over, too
3. How far were your teammates when you got hooked? Were they on the opposite side of map? Was it a multi-story map where stairs are hard to find (Midwich, Hawkins, etc.)
4. Did killer camp at all?
I already saw that you weren't running Kindred which makes soloq so hard as there's no communication as there would be in most cases. Dedicating a slot for Kindred on soloq when there's no communication is important imo.

One gen was done and I was looping the Killer for a bit, wondering why they weren’t doing any gens or anything. It was the Demogorgon. When I got downed and hooked they were all in the center of the map. Not really far at all. The Killer wasn’t camping but they were clearly doing the “I hear a terror radius, better get in a locker”.
0 -
I thought all 3 were on gens per OP? If its locker then I see your point a lot more. If it was gens with Undetectable Demo then I see why they could be hesitant, especially with no Kindred

My struggle rules are:
- The killer is camping and people are working on gens. If I am being camped and I see 1 or 2 people just standing around waiting for the killer to leave. I just die on second stage. If everyone is working on gens, I struggle for the whole 2 minutes
- If I hit second stage and I feel like no other survivor made an attempt to save me before I hit that stage, then I die on stage 2.
- If its doctor, I just kill myself on first hook.

They were but any sense of terror radius they went and got off gens and hide. That’s why they never got any gens done

Same situation happened to me, except I didn't kill myself, the killer just didn't chase me for the rest the game and let me go. Afterwards private messaged me and said he was sorry for my teammates and wished me luck on my next game.
I like meeting both the toxic and nice people on this game and I wished that killer an awesome day/night

This seems like a situation of everyone hoping someone else is gonna go for the save/closer for the save. It happens. Swf and Kindred counters this.
Really only get mad if they can clearly see me going into 2nd state, crouching nearby or some crap.

Survivors like you aren’t any help in the match anyway. Too emotional to be of any use to the team. At best y’all distract the killer for all of 30 seconds before going down and getting hooked.
Good riddance to the lot of you.
1 -
Depends how far the survivors we're away from the hooked person. I never go for a save if it means I have to cross from one side of the map to the other. I'll stay put EVERY time and hope that the killer comes to check my generator, thus I can waste there time, allowing the hooked survivor to be saved and healed comfortably. The amount of time wasted travelling to a hooked survivor and then back again is a lot of wasted gen time. Killing yourself in front of them because you reached stage 2 is the sign of a sore loser tbh.

So i learned from you: If i can´t get you on the first hook, i dont need to bother to come to you at all. Check.
