Better experience playing as killer or survivor?
I put a small note in another thread but I thought I would flesh out my thoughts and see if anyone else experiences the game like this.
One full game, beginning to end, is more fun and chill playing as survivor. One full game, beginning to end, is more stressful but satisfying and rewarding playing killer.
I've got 300 hrs in game, probably 270 as killer. I've only recently committed sessions to learning survivor and playing that side, MOSTLY solo queue. When playing survivor I can work gens, try to loop the killer, search for totems, game how to get an unhook, guess what perks the killer is running and determine how I can approach/avoid certain things.
Playing killer I can go after survivors and defend gens and that's about it. The difference is how I go about it using the various killers.
As survivor I have discovered how much it sucks getting tunneled and camped and that's lead to me checking out Iron Will and DS. I've discovered how absolutely infuriating it can be to find out the killer has NOED after having a great match where I avoided getting downed until the exit gates were opened. I don't think NOED should be changed, I just started running Small Game and cleansing every totem I can get my hands on. If I get downed and hooked, oh well, hopefully my other survivors will come get me at some point. Killers getting salty and hitting me on hook is funny and they only hurt themselves letting my teammates do gens while they camp me. No biggie. Running survivor is LOTS of fun and has made me a better killer!
Running killer I'm way more focused, on point and in tune minute by minute in a match. Highest I've been is rank 4, currently at rank 6. I have to get 4 survivors down and hooked 3 times to guarantee a 4k. (Yes I do go for hooks over kills, but to each their own.) I have to be aware of Decisive Strike, DeadHard, Unbreakable, Borrowed Time, Adrenaline, Object, as any of these can ruin my day. Any mistake I make in a chase adds time to other survivors on gens and lets the survivor I'm chasing stay off hook a little while longer. Mistakes as killer are INCREDIBLY difficult to overcome. Do I run info perks to help me know where the survivors are? Gen defense perks? It depends on the makeup of the team I playing against and what they are prioritizing and how they are going about their business. I will often run Ruin (going for hooks I can't waste time kicking gens) but that Ruin RARELY lasts the whole match. BBQ, Franklin's, NOED (cause those gens get done FAST at the higher ranks) and then one perk that fits the killer gets rotated in there from time to time. The game is generally exciting but stressful and getting a 4k or a 3k/hatch is INCREDIBLY rewarding. It's the high of highs in the game for me. Getting looped to no end by good survivors and getting a 0K while getting embarrassed is humiliating and is the lowest of the low in the game for me.This leads to me focusing some games on just challenges and dailies, but in the end I'm always back to playing for hooks to get the BPs to level up and up and up. Then there's always the chance of salt in the post-game chat, but that's another post. Running killer is REALLY rewarding and alternates to REALLY depressing.
Anyone else finding the nuances of playing both sides as interesting as I do? I'm interested in hearing other experiences of people who play both sides.
TL;DR Survivor is more fun but killer is more rewarding.

I personally find Survivor an overall more fun experience. The behaviour of many in the community often make playing killer an irritating exercise. I don't find it particularly fun.
The only killer I like playing as is Myers with a tier 1 mirror add-ons. I enjoy making people jump out of their skins.

Killer. Easily.
- I get WAY more points for less effort.
- I can't be ejected out of the game.
- The only form of BM my opponents can do to me literally wastes their running time.
- No annoying "teammates".
- If someone pisses me off, I can actually punish them for it.
- Hitting people feels so good as stress relief instead of running away.

I prefer survivor overall but if I’m in the mood to play killer I will enjoy it more

I definitely get this. I can run Doc or Spirit with my lvl 3 BBQ and a Survivor pudding and get TONS of BPs. And if once in a blue moon a survivor drops a Bloody Streamers, that's all the better!! Killer is by far the way to go for BP farming,

Killer indefinitely, I don't want to spend the whole match carrying my team as a Survivor for them to do nothing.
As Killer I am not dependent, feels really good to stomp a narcissistic crutch team.
