I think the forums MUST display a users rank for both Killer and Survivor. It's not fair if a green rank survivor has an equal say to that of a red rank. It's annoying seeing all these posts crying about which killer to nerf next when the OP probably has never played high level gameplay to begin with.

What about a green rank survivor that couldn't be bothered cheesing back to rank 1 after the depip fiasco? Or a red rank killer that's constantly hovering around rank 1 because it's easy to rank up as two of their mains?
Rank is not a measure of skill. If it was, I'd be somewhere around rank 5 as both. As would almost everyone else.

You're implying that green rank person is going to be green rank forever? You said you need cheese tactics to reach rank 1? maybe you shouldn't be rank 1 if you need to cheese your way there. Every rank system has its minor flaws but id prefer to know I'm reading the opinion of someone that plays the game high rank rather than low rank which doesn't effect me at all. Rank is a measure of skill though.. I can guarantee if I verse a group of 1's and then a group of 20's there is a huge gameplay difference.

This game has too much jank for anyone to be a true master at it. And a newbie player's opinions come from the merit of their statement, not from how long they've played. A new player has the potential to provide insight that others don't see. And like others have said, there's literally no reason to further divide this fandom even more. Killer mains vs. Survivor mains is already annoying enough; we don't need Red Killers vs. Green Killers vs. Purple Survivors vs. Yellow Survivors (etc..).

Yeah so all players are equal and no one is better than each other.. are you on the right forums? No a newbie players opinion has nothing to do with rank 1 gameplay, not now not ever. Under no circumstance should a rank 17 killer that has had the game for less than a week, have an equal say to a rank 1 killer that studies the patch notes each update to keep ahead. The only people that argue about meritocracy are the people that will be left at the bottom.

Ranks don't equal anything to skill, it just means you decided to invest your time into this game and decided you want to make it to red ranks. That was my goal at first, but since that was two years ago being a red ranks don't mean anything. Being rank 1 on survivor and killer doesn't really mean anything, and ranks won't mean anything until we have the rank rewards once MMR officially comes out.

As other has stated a person's rank is not a reasonable measurement to skill. A person can ba a rank 20 and have expert knowledge on the game.
Also devaluing someone stance or opinion on the subject is just rude. All this would be doing is creating an unnecessary hierarchy in which people can potentially spout how better they are because if something as arbitrary as rank. Which in turn can breed more toxicity.

Ranks are pretty useless in 2021.
You could only gen and unhook 24/7 and likely hit Rank 1.
What's really important is MMR which is smth I agree with.

What is this meme that ranks dont mean anything? Anyone that says that instantly has their whole opinion discarded seeing that they think a killer going against rank 20's will be equal going against rank 1's. Its a dumb meme and anyone that actually thinks rank means absolutely nothing are dumb. If you're a natural rank 1 killer you wont be able to change that unless you purposely derank. When I was rank 1 I stayed rank 1 until I wanted to lose pips and I would afk to do that. if you cant stay at rank 1 when you play the game maybe you're not meant to be rank 1...

Why should they have a higher value opinion when
A. Rank does not indicate skill, merely how often a player plays since the last reset.
B. Changes to gameplay affect all ranks and not just the "top %!!!!!"
When it comes to the impact on the playerbase making changes based solely on one perspective will shut out everyone else who either doesn't play frequently enough, or doesn't care to try and rank up.
All this would do is encourage even more snobbiness and jackass posts by people just like your responses to other peoples comments on this thread. Not something I really like, anyhow cheers.

Just because you can out loop a killer doesn't make you "good" nor vice versa.
Ranks go up based on OBJECTIVES i.e. doing/breaking gens, hooking/unhooking survivors, looping and etc.
If you do 2/3 you'll gain a pip which you need to rank up.
What don't you understand about the basic fundamentals of this game?
What you want is MMR, a skill-based/calculated system that differentiates players' proficiency at playing.

Yes a survivor that can mind game a killer and loop them for minutes is much better than a survivor that gets downed instantly. You are obviously the type of survivor that just gets downed hence why you are so salty.

I may still make mistakes that a rank 6 may not make.

They FACTOR some community feedback into their decision making process.
They don’t operate unanimously on the grounds of “whatever is suggested on the forums MUST be put into the game!”

I got rank 1 with no perk, no addon Wraith, does that mean I am the jesus of DBD? no, it just means I played a lot of DBD and it took me 150+ games to get there. The rank system has nothing to do with skill and one of my friends got to red ranks in his first 90-100 hours into the game. Nice attempt to split this community even further.

A: Pretty sure if you camp your heart out and all the survivors spend the match trying to pluck their buddy out from under you, you're gonna rank up.
B: Pretty much every game that does this also ends up detested by its own community. The playerbase isn't 'the top 1%'. The game can either be competitive or fun, it can -never- be both.
And yeah, ranks mean nothing, especially as survivor, since your grade is directly impacted by your teammates. You'll pip for just holding M1 on gens while someone else does all the hard work, you'll depip for going for a safe unhook and having some potato sprint burst in from the other side of the map with killer in tow and making a dumb, unsafe unhook, leaving you holding the bag.

A. Wrong, I get a 4k pretty much every game I camp as bubba and you cant get past rank 8 if you camp. I tested this I have been doing it all week.

You're forgetting everything in between. No you cant just hold M1 on a gen and get rank 1. You have to know when to get off and hide or the killer will down you. If the killer is good you he wont keep getting looped and he will contest gens so the person luring him away wont work. If someone does a dangerous unhook they usually have BT and if they dont you can always use DS, thats what perks are for so use them.

If you actually paid attention, you'd see that I play both Survivor and Killer, but since you lack the mental capacity for critical thinking, I'll give you a quick rundown.
I've been Rank 1 on both sides for 2+ years and have close to 1000+ hours on either side. I've watched tournaments, guides, streamers and friends play the game. I've been on these forums for a almost 2 years and have been lurking here for longer. It's quite likely that, by your own system, my opinion outranks yours.
The only person getting exposed here is you, since your idea was rejected by pretty much everyone, you decided to start attacking people in the stead of providing any meaningful discussion.

See this is where your assumption is wrong. I have all skins and p3 on every character as well as legacy. I have been playing since alpha and actually was one of the game testers before it was released. So really, my opinion out ranks yours. Now when you can back up your claims I will happily back up mine.
