Failed grabs should turn into a hit

I don't understand why they don't anymore, because that was the default behaviour before dedicated servers.

I'm talking about situations where you interrupt a survivor doing an action (unhooking, vaulting, repairing a gen) and, from the killer's POV, you tap M1 and then the grab animation starts to play, and then it stops playing, and then nothing happens, and then the survivor runs away.

I get that the timing of grabs is harder with dedicated servers, but if the timing's wrong, it should still turn into an M1 attack, shouldn't it?
