Are you kidding me?
Just finished a game in Red Forest, last gen gets popped and i hook a survivor in the basement. With BBQ I can see a stray survivor, no where near an exit gate...So I decided to pressure them. I down them, hook them and return to the basement.
I could have sworn the basement survivor was unhooked ATLEAST 2 minutes ago, I down them...BOOM decisive strike straight to the exit gate and escape
I guess I should stop tunnelling, considering we've all done a pretty good job so far.

Maybe make it so if you hook more than 1 Survivor within the DS timer, the first Survivor who was hooked loses DS activation status as essentially they haven't been tunneled as another Survivor has been downed and hooked since they had been..

It's frustrating bro, can't wait for this DS nerf to come sooner. I don't care if I get DS'd if i'm legit going all out to get ONE survivor, but this is stupid

DS really should just deactivate at endgame.
4 -
You already had two hooked survivors then and only one escaped. You still got 1 out of 2.
Yeah, DS is OP but that doesn't mean you deserve those kills.
You used BBQ (a popular killer perk) to track down a free kill and yet you're not happy with them using a survivor perk to get a free escape?
I don't see the logic here...

If the killer went through the trouble of chasing a survivor and downing them, they ultimately won the chase and actually do deserve those kills, especially if they got punished for "tunneling" said survivor when that was not the case.
Not to mention, BBQ isn't free kills. BBQ is a tracking perk that has a 50/50 chance as to if you can even find the survivor given they could've moved at any point while you were traveling across the map. You'll also have to win the chase if you find them.
Not everything is black and white bud.

Lol, what dumb logic you got there.
BBQ allows free kills, not that it guarantees any. You see the difference? Survivor won't know you have BBQ and thus they won't make strategic moves against it, hence giving an upper hand for killers in the OP's situation.
Second, DS also takes "skill" according to your dumb logic. DS requires a "skill" check that you must succeed as well as another "chase" that ensues right after (You hear my sarcasm?). You fail to do any of those, you die once more.
I never said he didn't deserve ANY kills. I specifically mentioned that getting 1 survivor out of 2 hooks is not bad especially at endgame.
What I DID say was that it's wrong to think he DESERVED both hooks when one of them was allowed by a perk (BBQ) that was countered by another perk (DS).
You learn something everyday baby!

If the survivors don't know a killer has BBQ by the endgame, they are stupid. Sorry to break it to you, but if the killer hooks somebody and comes to your exact position, it's obvious. You must be playing in low MMR if you think the survivors won't be able to counter it.
Moving on.. never once did I imply that DS was skill-based lol. A killer hunting down a survivor with BBQ only to win the chase is different from a survivor not being tunneled, losing the chase and punishing the killer for it with an undeserved DS. Comparing the two makes no sense since one was deserved and one wasn't.
I also find it funny that you think DS was countering BBQ when in actuality it was just giving an unfair escape considering the killer wasn't tunneling, hence why DS is being nerfed in the first place. He deserved those kills but instead got punished for it, that isn't "countering". I don't understand your point here.

if they are going to keep ds in the game which because its linked to a licensed dlc they will they at least need to do like they did to pop, which btw was unnecessary and now only promotes 3 gen strats, i digress they need to lower the time to the 40 second just like they did to pop.

Oh GOD. Why do killer mains feel so attacked whenever BBQ is even mentioned?!
Listen, buddy.
You just gave a pass for killers saying "oh, if you don't realize BBQ is there by the endgame, you dumb"
and yet, you dumb down DS as an undeserving perk that is abusive towards killers only.
Did you hear me say: "oh, if you don't realize that survivors carry DS, you dumb" from my mouth? Hypocrisy at it's finest people.
I get that you are a killer main and you understand more of the killer's side than the counterpart's, but come on. Stick to the topic will you?
Also, when have I ever compared the two?
Did I say: "A is better/worse than B..."? Wut?!
Here, read this again: What I DID say was that it's wrong to think he DESERVED both hooks when one of them was allowed by a perk (BBQ) that was countered by another perk (DS).
This is regarding KILLS not about perks. He was given fresh information about a survivor's whereabouts thanks to a perk (which the OP also agreed on) and decided to go for the kill. The survivor used DS as a mean to get a free escape from that free information. What's so hard to comprehend?
The OP took the risk to go after a survivor that was revealed thanks to BBQ. If he never did that, thing's wouldn't have turned out this way in the first place.
And finally: "He deserved those kills but instead got punished for it"
🤣
You are making me laugh so hard. The entitlement is off the roof with this one.

Jeez, the aggro in this reply is amusing. We're just debating a topic, no need to be so snarky.
Let me just put this on the table: I'm not a killer main nor have I ever been a killer main. Playing killer is miserable so I don't even bother much anymore. Don't know if you got that idea because I'm standing up for killers or because I like Oni and have him as my profile pic. Either way, it's bold of you to assume.
Anyways, I'm so sorry that you got offended when I said you're stupid if you don't realize the killer has BBQ. The same could be said if you're a killer and don't realize survivors have Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, whatever. If you don't take the chance of countering a perk after you know the other side has it, that's your fault and your fault only.
Oh yeah, you did compare both perks, even if it wasn't as spelled out as "A is better/worse than B". You said "You used BBQ (a popular killer perk) to track down a free kill and yet you're not happy with them using a survivor perk to get a free escape?", which is comparing both perks to giving a free escape/kill. That isn't the case when one was deserved and one wasn't.
A killer getting hit by DS when he wasn't tunneling is different from a survivor getting a 50/50 chance of getting found and downed. The survivors can counter BBQ whether they hide or get caught and win the chase, unlike DS where you're supposed to guess as to whether or not the survivor still has it despite not tunneling. You won't be able to change my mind on this my friend.

Snarky, offended... So many sentimental adjectives... I frankly don't give two S#!ts about this topic.
You still can't read between the lines it makes my fingers hurt typing anymore and I'm tired of repeating myself over and over and over and over again.
You know what? Imma stay off this thread now. You have a blessed day 😁

If you didn't care then you wouldn't have went this far considering this is a forum where people debate topics. I literally addressed everything you said as well, so I'm just going to assume we both have our different opinions.
Have a good day :-)

People are really bad judges of time. DS only lasts 60 seconds, so clearly you downed him again within 60 seconds. The DS change won't change anything in regard to your situation here.

Maybe make DS no timer when u are downed by killer.

to be fair though he still would've escaped under the new DS but yeah the perk needed a change very badly.
