Do the devs even have play testers for new killers? If so are they experienced?
How does a killer come out so incredibly weak even after "buffs" from the ptb.
Like the ones who decide what is good/fair do they even play this game and i'm not talking like 200 hours because that honestly isn't much.
Literally every experienced player and even fog whisperers themselves said this killer needs some major buffs so my only conclusion is that you don't have play testers who can judge things correctly or you have none at all and play test it all yourselves but then that raises the question of do you even know what is good in your own game?
But even then how the hell does a killer come out so weak? It's baffling.

Pretty sure play testers only make sure something works rather than if it's viable in the context of the game.
In other words, they didn't have play testers last chapter.

Yeah, maybe they can hire fog whisperers to give feedback so they can change it. But that probably won't happen because "wE HaVe tHe pTb!!!111"
3 -
The play testers are PTB players and no they don't take their feedback.
7 -
Oh my. Are they actually banning people to quash the negative feedback? wow. I don't think even EA does this.
19 -
Woah, did they really ban them for this?
3 -
The dude directly insulted the devs with the title of the thread, criticism is okay, but the devs are people too and directly insulting them is against the rules.
Also the forum mods don't just hand out bans, there are usually warnings and getting jailed that happen first.
Tl;dr: Nobody is suppressing negative feedback, just don't be rude.

He didn't insult anyone he asked a question, and quite frankly looking at the history of DBD updates, and some killers upon launch, and some recent map reworks it's not at all unreasonable to ask if anyone has play tested the game.
18 -
I'm not sure how asking a question is considered an insult?
14 -
When someone receives a punishment the offending message or thread gets removed. Judging by the fact this thread remains and hasn't even been edited, it's clearly not this thread that's the reason.
5 -
With the idea of staying on topic, can the OPs question be answered rather than be blatantly avoided?
18 -
That fact you guys consider this thread insulting is...
Well it's telling.
4 -
So you think the mods consider this thread bad enough to ban OP for but not bad enough to delete it??
3 -
It wouldn't be the first time.
2 -
not only that but Rizzo literally said that all offending comments and threads are deleted but yet this one has a mod's attention and doesn't get deleted??

Ok. How about the title question? Are there any legitimate play testers, not including the ptb, but actual testers working for bhvr. and if so, are they experienced enough at the game to be able to accurately determine if something is viable in terms of strength, utility, fairness, etc.?

Of course not.
Do you really think anyone at BHVR balance team is above Rank 18? Should I remind you Almo literally said a few months ago there was NO ONE ON THS ENTIRE PLANET that could "really use The Clown's potential"?
Yeah, I find it incredibly sad how hard they ######### on the amazing work of artists and lore designers at BHVR. A game with so much potential; so much talent wasted because of oblivious devs who can't even play their own game.

I don't think they have play testers at all besides of the ppl that play PTB, because NO ONE would look at the trickster now in his current state and say "Good job, he's playable, we can launch him now", this boi will need changes ASAP to AT LEAST, be a C tier killer, because he stands at "Z" now.

The playtesters are the ones who play the PTB, and have to sit there bashing their heads against a wall playing clunky killers before they hit live. Remember PTB Blight? Was incredibly rough to watch
1 -
Oh boy, this ought to be good
1 -
Whether or not it's up to you to decide what's good or bad for the game was not the question being asked.
The question was, "Do the devs have play testers for the new killers and are they experienced?". I believe they are referring to an actual team where this is part of their job among other things.
That's a yes or no question the OP and many others were looking for.
They could have phrased things in a nicer way I will agree but the question itself is a genuine and fair question that I think many would like to know. I haven't personally seen this question answered before.

The hell happened here
1 -
A question was asked, person was banned for said question (or how said question was phrased), and now the question is being dodged
2 -
Wait, banned for this question?
2 -
Trying to stay on topic here but how exactly would they even play test a killer?
RNG players such a big part in a match’s outcome that getting consistent results with any killer is difficult.

If only there was something they could use to test with the public. A way to Publicly Test a Build of the game with other players of varying skills...

And maybe they could have it on console too for a larger sample size!

Get survivors at various titles. Have the killer chase them, and see the average chase time, and analyze if there actually is something the killer can do in a given scenario. After the testing, tally up if the ability is actually useful overall. Since Trickster's power is very niche and only potentially time efficient out in the open and at short loops, leaving the majority of notable structures in the game making his power a massive timesink, and therefore, useless, and the fact that he's 4.4 leaving him with no fallback option in his mele, the devs almost certainly did not use the method I described. The company probably doesn't use playtesting. And no, that's not me being sarcastic or "insulting" mods. I genuinely don't think your company makes use of playtesting outside of PTB, which clearly has stopped being put into consideration since Twins. If the players of the PTB are the playtesters, then it was, from our perspective, not utilized, because everything negative PTB players have said about Trickster has come true on the live servers, resulting in a product that, from a gameplay standpoint, is almost unanimously agreed to be a bad one. It's in your best interest to take the criticism, change the Trickster ASAP so that there's the possibility that you get anything out of this chapter other than the initial burst of sales, because no one is buying Trickster with money other than aesthetic reasons or people just wanting the survivor and were willing to eat the cost of less value compared to previous chapters.
