Everyone shut up about Trickster being bad
Yes, we get it. Your first three games playing him didn't exactly go well. We understand he's in need of some buffs. It's obvious he's not nurse of Freddy levels of good. The problem is, you're all playing him expecting to do good without actually working out all his kinks. Stop expecting 4ks and start learning from your games instead of complaining on the internet. I've already run into some tricksters who absolutely decimated me and my teams. It can be done. Just give it some time.

He has More cons than Pros,
Main event shouldn't run out just as soon as you get it,
That's like saying Oni has a limited time to use his power to use his power.

I played him for 4 hours and I'm pretty sure this killer is awful.
Just for the record, I have a lot of Huntress and Deathslinger games, so I had no troubles aiming with his knives.
Regardless, his power felt horrible to use

I get what you mean but sadly Trickster is just overall a very weak and underwhelming killer. He has way to many negatives In his kit and he is to slow. He needs a major buff asap or he will be the worst killer they ever released

I played probably a good 50 or so Trickster games in the PTB, and 10+ today. The only notable change the devs made to him was actually NERFING his ricochet addon. He was trash in the PTB, he's trash now.

I really doubt anyone was expecting instant 4ks. At the least we expected a killer that could actually... you know? Maybe kill someone? The only Trickster I've seen all night actually win against a team was one who literally slugged with NOED. Beyond that every single Trickster has failed to even get a single kill when I've VSd him. And some of these were Rank 1 killers. They know how to play at the very least so it shows he's extremely underpowered and is in major need of help. Everyone even pointed this out from his PTB and yet this is the end result. The exact same issues. I'm not denying some will be great as him but when there are more people losing everyone over the ones who manage at least a 1k there's a serious design flaw.

His point is that it's been less than a day since the killer joined the actual game and it's too early to adequately judge. Otz thought that Spirit would be weak when she came out, and now look at her. She gets more hate than Taylor Swift (which isn't saying much but I just wanted to get that joke off of my chest).

I main Legion and I was very surprised with how bad Trickster felt.
Definitely weaker than Legion, but feels just as bad to play.

I play 3 hours without killing anyone luckily I bought it only for the perks and without spending money, I already knew that it would be useless but hey you cannot be disappointed dbd more than it is currently.

I have played roughly 20 games with him today. Only 1 did I get a 4K and they had all gems done. Every other game I got either 1 kill or none at all. Maybe 2 sprinkled here and there if I’m lucky. He is complete trash. I love everything about him, but his gameplay is worse than pre-rework Freddy. And that’s saying something

I stopped using his power altogether in my last match and actually did Better than all the previous matches using it... let that sink in:
Choosing to be a 110% movement speed killer using M1 attacks only is literally better than using his throwing knives!
The only situations where his throwing knives have ever been useful is on a small pallet loops that he can throw over, and the survivor chooses to stay at it instead of running away. Otherwise, I see no reason to use his power at all.

Spirit on the PTB was bad tho.
She had a short lunge out of phase, her sound was directional and she would ALWAYS make the phasing sound, no matter how close you were to her.
A better example would be Deathslinger.

His very rare and above addons are ALL hot garbage but the explosive knives. That says something.
And spirit's addons atleast has value. even her common addons does something

This is why I avoid the Forums once a new chapter is released. Its literally an echo chamber in the first week. I’ve tried to keep it that way since Rin was added in game because of how everyone ran with the narrative that she was bad/weak. Rin is the Queen of DBD right now.

Spirit actually WAS weak when she came out, they had to buff her to make her good, but they did it too much.

Please stop bringing up the Spirit thing. It's already been shown that Spirit was buffed more than once after her PTB, both on live release and during her midchapter patch.

That buff was only the removal of the phasing sound emission within the terror radius, the mind game of which only worked like twice anyways. She didn't even have a vaulting animation for one period, so it's a mixed bag.

The mind game of standing still was one part of her power, that barely even worked in the first place. She still had the ability to become completely invisible while still having decent tracking ability on the survivor, which is what most people complain about.

I thought she still does. I don't remember when they tied lunge range to movement speed but I doubt it was the shattered bloodline update. Either way, she isn't a regular looper; as long as you can get a somewhat precise idea of where the survivor is, you're all set.

To the contrary, I'm glad to see BHVR found a way to fix the bugs - just make the Chapter so #########, no one wants to play it.

I mean, they need feedback. Good and bad. Unfortunately from what I've seen so far (just various streams, waiting to verify the integrity of my files...) even the people who play this game as a job are asking for a buff. DeadbyDaylight @ Twitch commented in one chat that they're taking everyone's feedback in, when that chat itself wasn't too happy with how the Trickster has gone. It's an all around good thing, so maybe the Trickster will be more fun for killers and survivors.

I'm confused. With how bad he was during the PTB, why didn't the devs buff him then? Bc I like him. I like his power. I do. I just dont see how anyone can see his power as viable. It needs work.

Spirit isn't the best example. Yes, people called her weak, during the PTB and when she came out. But mostly because she had a massive cooldown on her power back then. Many said, if buffed, than Spirit would have the potential to be a high tier killer. And that happened.
Some stuff you can just judge by general game experience. And even if people might not have 100% figuered out Trickster, they can still can make a good judge based on the informations given and his potential. DbD isn't so much complex, that it takes long to understand the potential of perks or killers.

I don't want to just pile on, but yea, this killer is trash. He's so bad. Most killers in this game punish you for using my a power incorrectly or at the wrong time, but this is the only killer who puts himself at a major disadvantage just for using the power....
Almost anytime you can use his power in a meaningful way, you could just melee instead and avoid the risk of missing or not getting enough knives into a survivor. What's the point of hitting the knives anyway, you won't be in a position to hit the survivor with knives again once they realize you are committed to throwing them, especially not with the bullshit recoil (that I'm sure is bad on PC, but on Console is downright ridiculous)
So you're best option is to commit to chase at 110% speed... It's really just like the worse inverse of Legion and Deathslinger..

Except you seem to be ignoring how most of us who have criticized the new killer, have played as him for a few days if not weeks on the PTB and have played many more matches with him than you seem to believe they have.
Now what you need to take to be aware of, is that the only notable change they've made to his kit, is nerfing an add-on that near-enough everyone wanted to be a part of it. This means that the complaints from our time in the beta, are still 100% viable for the use of saying that we believe him to be a badly designed killer. The sheer mass of people saying the same thing is just a showing of how much people care about this game, and should not be ignored or silenced.

Also, I may he alone on this, but I don't like what they did to Wraith much either. I don't think he was that bad but the slowdown from decloak just feels... Unnatural. Maybe It'll just take time, but so far I'm not a fan.

Well I disagree on DBD not being complex. There are just too many factors to draw conclusions via induction, not only in the game itself, but also in the individuals and how they play. I agree, he definitely looks pretty "meh," but we've all been wrong about DBD before, and we may be wrong again. Predictions will remain predictions, until the fog clears and we can get an idea of how mediocre Trickster is.

Entitled today, aren't we. You don't have any rights guaranteed by BHVR, they're a company, not a government.
And they did buff Trickster in the PTB. Even then, the PTB is still early on. Don't be so impatient, don't be so entitled. We'll see how mediocre he is eventually.

Played 8 games against Trickster and died once as a result of hook diving. One round was where killer got 2 kills, but most rounds ended up with all 4 survivors escaping.
He is beyond trash, literally 110% m1 killer.

The closest I've ever felt to playing as Trickster was when Ghostface was first released onto the PTB. Power does practically nothing and you're an M1 killer. At least GF has 115% movement speed.

He wasn't buffed in the Ptb...
He had many glaring issues in the Ptb But not including:
-Iron Maiden didn't affect his reload.
-Main Event going down Despite maxing it out early on (Still does this btw. so yer ######### for power)
-16 hits with a POWER, Keep that in mind
-110 / 4.4m/s Easily loopable. can be abused by good survivors
-100% needs addons to win otherwise gg
-Ricochet addon was nerfed, Needed to be basekit
-Has an Ultra-rare involving you to be up-close and personal with it (Did i mention it doesn't down you / injure you either)
-Recoil on knives make no sense
-Lacefuckyouation Decays despite being in a chase. might as well punish myself for using said power if i end up not able to catch said survivor round a corner

The fact that you have to go out of your way and lose distance if you want to use your power is bullshit especially for a 110 killer. There is no reason I would want to play him aside from trying to get his teachable and adept.

The devs somewhat nerfed him from PTB they fixed a bug and gave him 2 nerfs
