An Hour with Trickster: Review
TLDR; Boring Killer without any impact on how a match is played for both sides without interesting addons to back him up, is actually the One-Trickster-Pony.
I was really hoping the Trickster would be a lot better from PTB, but his biggest problem still remains. He has zero impact.
Looking at what most consider to be "Bad Killers", like Legion, Clown or Plague, they at least have some way of slowing down the match via slowdowns or side-objectives, but Trickster doesn't have that. Now what about other killers without those like Huntress or Deathslinger? Well they make up for it with lethality. Landing a far range hatchet will deal damage, and landing a far range gunshot will remove all distance the survivor had. A far ranged dagger will do nothing but slow you down and maybe remove a health state if they run in a straight line.
Though the worst part is that Trickster is utterly boring. Once you play a few rounds, it hits you that there is nothing else going on with him, you just throw daggers, and his ability is just throwing more daggers? It's even more pathetic when the game classified him as "Easy" when he needs to be played completely on point for minimal gains.

His bounce daggers are fun; but you have to blow a purple addon for them, and they are not even that good people just bring them cause they are fun.
It's funny how the only interesting thing he does, is treated as a side gimmick you are not expected to ever really do. That's honestly just bad design.
I mean he can be fun but the thing is the only fun thing he does without that addon, you can already do a more fun version of with plague and/or huntress. The only "new" thing he does is an addon.
Then, taking this argument further, even if they did make his blade bounce base kit they are SO afraid of making a half decent killer, they likely won't give him any incentive for using/doing that.
THEN to take this argument further still, the only argument against that really is that people would just aim at the feet, which could be remedied by making them either not bounce of the ground/floor or not let them bounce off the floor when within 1 meter of a survivor; but actually coding anything takes some effort so they will just never do that because anything that isn't just changing some numbers means waiting months and months for.
All this started because they don't want to listen to the community like at all. So I feel like this killer is the perfect example of like all the fundamental problems BHVR has right now. Communication, adaptation, and implementation.

I think he's fun. Everybody's experience differs, I guess.
Plus, Plague is certainly not low tier. She's frustrating and temperamental, but she's definitely not low tier.

I've played him for about 6 matches which is most of the afternoon for me.
Yeah, he needs help. His power is very underwhelming and honestly not really worth using moat of the time. And his 110% speed is totally unwarranted. He's a m1/mid range hybrid, he needs to be faster.

I’ve only played against him but the only time he got kills was when he used starstruck to slug us

This guy is super fun and I love his aesthetic and the amount of personality they've put into him but his power is really weak and underwhelming.
It's sad.

Maybe he has "Hidden Potential".
