The developer team needs a serious mindset change and needs to develop a reasonable thought process.

The developers of this game are money hungry and ignore the players constantly. The developers hardly listen to the community's thoughts and feedback and if they do it's completely different from what we asked for. They proved this numerous times with the most recent case being the state Trickster is in right now. After weeks of feedback from players who said he was weak and not viable in competitive play and red ranks, they did absolutely nothing. They ignored it like they usually do. They might change him one more time and then they'll leave the Trickster in a ditch. The developers also keep adding things absolutely NO ONE asked for. Remember what they did to Billy? We asked for map balance changes and a way to counterplay spirit and they gave us a complete Billy overhaul. Just like the trickster, there was a huge amount of negative feedback and they ignored every single bit of it. They don't care about us. Time after time, they'll add changes no one asked for or wanted. Who asked for a new UI? Who asked for a Billy overhaul? Who asked for breakable walls? Who asked for them to completely break Gideon and make it unbearable? I could go on and on.

Stop adding things no one asked for or wanted. Listen to your community and stop being so hard-headed if you want your game to survive long-term. Stop treating us like a bag of money and view us as players who want the game to thrive. You guys have so many people constantly trying to help you as well. Scot Jund literally started a rework series and has made many good ideas in the past. But I doubt you'll add any of them because you ignore your community and couldn't care less about the health of the game.

It takes months or years for an actual balance change but they won't hesitate to make new skins or battle passes. They only care about what's making money. It's funny cause they're even getting lazy with the battle pass. They copied the skins from the mobile game (we should've got them for free or iri shards) and just added it to the battle pass. They literally released Billy's default pants into the pass with the only difference being the name and rarity. Why?

The art team and music team are fantastic but the balance team is not good.

Our opinions or suggestions don't matter to them. They do things how they want to do them.It makes me mad.

I've seen plenty of suggestions being implemented and changes made based on our opinions to know that's not true. What you (probably) mean to say is that they don't slavishly defer to what the forum says, which I think is fair.

Ad populum, have you heard of it? Just because a lot of people believe something or hold the same opinion doesn't make it true (look at pro-diseasers/anti-vaxxers, for example). The devs are free to look at the objective data instead of the subjective opinions of a tiny portion of their playerbase.

I'd be looking at BHVR entirely, because personally that entire company is driving up their pot of greed cards.

When everyone was BEGGING for a Trickster buff and people gave all those great changes to make him good.We got ignored.

Their balance team just sucks ass.Period.That is the games biggest problem.

Maybe the devs want to see how the Trickster will perform under real conditions. I don't think I need to tell you that people do not play normally on the PTB.

I like Scott, he's a smart fellow. But he really shouldn't be on a balance team. He suffers a lot from the "player makes a bad developer" clause.

His rework series so far really isn't that good.

His Legion change would make Legion a killer that can easilly injure and then can down using stealth which means survivors litterally would never get chased.

His Clown rework makes bottles useless and just slaps a teleport and calls it a day. It would be weaker then current clown and even more unfun to vs.

His trapper one was pretty good though bar some numbers that would need changing.

I'm pretty sure he isn't being serious with it and just throwing out fun idea's without thinking about how well it would work

And he will eventually get a buff.

After 5 months ofcourse. If we are lucky.Which is a shame because i really enjoy him.

The problem with their, "objective data" is that it doesn't factor in skill in any of their tests. They nerfed Billy cause he consistently got 4ks but that stat didn't factor in the skill of the survivors. If there was a way to accurately factor skill I would be fine with them nerfing/changing things based on the data but it's not like that right now.

You're completely right about him not making absolutely perfect rework ideas. My point was that there are people who are actively trying to give constructive feedback and giving new ideas on how to approach things in DBD.

No, no, you don't get it.

When just a lot of people are saying something it may not be true because there's other opinion supported by, if not the same or bigger, but at least noticeable amount of people.

However when literally everyone is saying one and the same thing (especially after playing this killer) it's a reason if not to act, but at least take an extremely close look at the problem.

Remember PTB ghostface? Everyone said he was awful and they listened. Same situation here, with an exception we weren't heard.

Tbh I really liked the visuals of the killer, despite my bad first impression. I really like the idea of the character and the way he's implemented. He really is something, too bad his gameplay part (one of the most important ones) is completely flawed

Honestly you are saying straight facts. Its frustrating at this point. People are trying to give constructive feedback, making videos and more to try help the devs do what they playerbase mostly wants but it all gets ignored because all they care about is skins and making money. Let me just say this though, if they do not do what the playerbase wants soon, they won't get any money, people will just stop playing. Scott Jund's rework series is pretty good, some of the ideas i really like but obviously there can be some minor changes with his ideas, the devs should watch the videos and other peoples videos on what people think should happen and then pick their favourite to then do. I don't think they will buff Trickster for a while and if they do it won't be that good.

I lost all motivation to play this game because of this. I have 1500+ hours and I just feel like it's a waste of time to add to that number now. They never address what makes the game unfun and frustrating, instead they go down the route of "Look my children, new skins and DLC!"

The insane bloodpoint grind has barely been addressed.

They nerfed DS properly after how many years of complaints?

Audio. I don't need to say anything else.

NOED, despite technically being a "fair" perk in many people's eyes is highly controversial and contributes to a bad experience, yet they don't do anything about it because it's balanced. It's not about it being balanced or not, it's about it being a pain in the ass.

Unfun killers such as Spirit and Deathslinger, well... unfun killers in general.

The absolute refusal to do something about the balancing issues of 4 man SWF.

There's just so much I can list that is wrong with this game, even worse are problems that have existed for so long that the devs know about but have not even addressed. Why? Just why?

I really like this game, I can't bear play it anymore because all the fun has been sucked out of it. It's a shame.

I don’t know if that’s entirely fair. We really don’t know the extent of their ongoing costs for this game. Amongst other things their list licenses is getting quite long.

Such a rushed chapter, with no substance. They should really understand people buying the chapter doesn't make it good, they just want probably 1 or 2 of the perks that come with the killer/survivor. Overall just a lazy job on this one and quite frankly the past few chapters have really been showing a lack of respect for the loyal players and just a cash grab-esque mindset...

Stop pretending to care, either do it or just stop "community engagement" because most of the people you are engaging with probably don't even play your game...

Orion, I admire how you continue to be the voice of reason on the forums, but BHVR has been on a downwards spiral for a while now and it was especially apparent after The Twins released. We all complained about everything, gave feedback for weeks on end, and lo and behold, 3 months later and we still have The Twins in a sorry state, the bad UI, broken content, etc. BHVR is still using their flawed release schedule and still hasn't done anything meaningful for the game's health other than the colorblind mode that was only commented on and added due to outrage. Simply moving most of the UI elements to the bottom was not what we asked for and they pretended to listen to us with no further changes or comments on it since.

    Just stop.

  • His Clown rework with reversed controls is an absolutely terrible idea. He usually has some decent ideas so I'm baffled how he hasn't thought that idea through.

  • Nobody expects them to implement every idea they ever read. Obviously there's always a mix of good suggestions and bad, and a lot of times whether an idea is good or not is subjective.

However Trickster on ptb has some glaring issues which was apparent to everyone and should have been clear to the design team. These weren't minor issues. They ignored every single warning and suggestion given to them on this killer. At that point it's a lack of understanding and ego on behalf of whoever is designing this killer.
