Who's excited for that 5th anniversary licensed chapter already?
Almost 3 months to go, but I'm already excited at the possibilites and speculations. The All-Kill chapter seems to have been another original killer debacle judging by the forums, sadly. Buckle up for the future.

Expectant? Yes.
The 5th Anniversary Chapter will make or break this game for me. It's getting really stale right now and if it's a 3rd disappointment in a row then I might unironically quit for a couple months.
And by disappointment I don't mean license I don't like- hell Pyramid Head is my favourite killer and I've never touched a Silent Hill game in my life- but it needs to be an actual good chapter with a good, fun killer, because for me the last fun killer we got was PH. It's been 9 months of effectively no new content because the perks are bad and the killers aren't fun. I don't wanna make it over a year.

Twins were a buggy mess. Trickster is just underwhelming and bugged.
They really have to nail the next dlc.

Same for me. I just hope it's a super iconic chapter though. It must exceed Silent Hill in terms of hype

I don't even care if it doesn't do that, I don't care if it isn't licensed either. I just want it to be fun and if they're strong it's an added benefit.

It's definitely going to be licensed. With how mediocre the past original killers have been(with maybe the exception of Blight), they need to go big or go home on this anniversary. I dare say many people will stop playing DBD if it isn't an iconic license next.

I would be fine with a chapter focussed on Bug fixing and QoL improvements. But I'm not bhvr so..

Ngl I unironically had a dream about there being a massive overhaul alongside the 5th anniversary that addressed most of the issues with the game and idk if that was the alcohol kicking in or what

I like the anniversary licenses because they usually make them pretty powerful. Not pityful and worthless like Trickster.

The only thing good the 5th anniversary chapter might bring is If the chapter is licensed there's a bigger incentive for the chapter to be good on release.

Honestly if the sleep deprivation gets too bad I take a paracetamol and then a small bit of vodka, it's probably really unhealthy and killing me slowly but it helps me sleep when I need it.
Cause trust me if I could cuddle up to a donkey or a cow I 100% would

At this point we should expect that Teddy bear killer from the Game-We-Don't-Speak-About, so the community could completely collapse in shitstorm.

Imo we need an amazing beautiful stunning new realm to coincide with the fifth anniversary. For me that's a major expectation. It's been too long since we've gotten a new realm let alone a new map. what I don't want, is another anniversary of promises of what is forthcoming over the course of the next year. I'm tired of hearing stay tuned we're working on it, five years into the game we should be seeing major improvements and the implementation of exciting changes.

It'll be the same old routine:
-There will be rumblings of a new chapter.
-We'll have all the usual YouTubers like 'The King' come out with another reliable licensed prediction video, naming all the usual names from Candyman, to Jason, to Pee Wee Herman.
-The 5 second teaser will drop.
-More smiley, sponsor-laden videos from 'our favourite fog whisperers' will follow. Teaser featured a chain? IT'S PINHEAD! Teaser featured snow? IT'S THE THING! Teaser featured sky-scrapers? IT'S THE STAY PUFT MARSHMALLOW MAN! etc...
-We get a few more social media hints.
-The Youtubers do even more detective work, which naturally turns out to amount to nothing.
-The trailer drops. It's nothing anyone expected.
-The clowns go crazy. They're dressing up as the new killer, they're drawing suggestive artwork of the new killer, they're outright admitting they're in love with the killer. The usual nonsense.
-DBD social media accounts retweet/share the super-fans submissions. It's one big party!
-The PTB is released. Players notice that there are some obvious faults with the killer's play style.
-The chapter is released.
-The party is in full swing. The streams are open. The cosplayers are out in force. The donations are being sent in. It's going to be a night to remember.
-A few hours in, the majority of players realise they dislike the new killer. And they go back to their main killers.

I really hope the chapter is an iconic one Like RE or Alien or child's play Don't give us Candyman Im fine with him coming in but not in the 5th anniversary

I'm honestly just not even remotely excited for it, and just don't seem to care enough right now. With how underwhelming these last two chapters have been, BHVR is really gonna have to step up their game with adding another licensed killer. I'm always conflicted with myself of wanting to quit DBD, but at best maybe just indefinite breaks will do. It's just that I love how unique this game is as well as featuring some of my favorite horrors icons with making great original characters, but it's just the balancing team as well as greedy decisions is what makes me hate it so much.

BHVR actually has to try on License Chapters, maybe I’m not really against original characters but I unconsciously realized this fact and that’s why I’m always hoping and pushing for more licensed chapters.

Important lesson about forums: They are not a direct reflection of the general player base. Most gaming forums have MAYBE 5-7% of the actual active players who post. I tend to ignore most of the vocal posters on these forums; either survivor/killer sided posters as they are not accurate stances of most players or even most posters. The problem with this; like most forums, is the amount of hyperbolic and vitriol that is taken as fact.
On the original topic: I am absolutely excited for the 5 year anniversary. While I am not a fan of the Trickster - I did buy the DLC. It's not the Trickster I am not excited about...but rather another ranged killer. I loathe playing ranged killers. I also purchased the new cosmetic for Feng because she is my main survivor.

Idk about y'all, but 5 is one of those big numbers to me in terms of anniversaries.
Like 1, 10, 25, 50, 100, all that stuff.
So i personally expect this one to be big, like really big.

People dont care about killers, everyone wanting balanced game but devs are not doing that sadly.

I would be.....except that last release was kinda trash.....and I never thought I'd ever think that about this game. I even found some good points in the Twins and Blight. But for licenses....I'm not gonna hold my breath. Been praying for the grudge forever....prolly never gonna happen before this game caves itself in and we get the next killer as Big Bird from sesame street or one of the Wiggles.

"People don't care about killers" For many of us...Killer is the only reason we play this game. All the survivors are just skins. Theres no mechanic change with any of them. So the only actual "UPDATE" that this game ever gets are the killers....

Well i dont care then? There is so many chapters we got but Freddy is still my main. I played with him old version and now new version. Only PH joined my mains. My last main is Myers but he is so weak, usually i am not playing with him. I just wanna balanced game, i dont care about new killers.

well it’s not excitement at this point as it’s still a relatively long time until the chapter gets revealed but I do have high hopes!
I mainly hope for an interesting license with a cool killer power and hopefully a new map! Maybe at least some words on that new game mechanic that started as early game collapse concept. And maybe even something new on the survivor side, like a new item (I guess an anniversary is the most likely update to get something like this)
