Please... a reminder about survivor/teammate etiquette.

Play how you will, but PLEASE remember you are not playing a SINGLE PLAYER GAME.

  • Don’t harass someone at a gen to be healed when you are NOT in immediate danger, ESPECIALLY if Ruin is still up. Help finish the gen, THEN you can be healed.
  • I get that mistakes are easily made, BUT even if you are not running Bond or SOME sort of info perk, and you are currently in a chase, if you can hear a gen being worked on nearby, attempt to lead the killer AWAY. None of this “I can’t hear anything over the chase music” nonsense. That’s just rubbish.
  • There is absolutely no good reason EVER to lead the killer back to a hooked survivor, or somebody slugged WHEN THERE ARE STILL OTHER SURVIVORS IN THE MATCH THAT COULD ASSIST THAT HOOKED/SLUGGED SURVIVOR.
  • Just accept that once a chase starts, the likelihood of going down eventually will always be very high. If you, or the team has made the mistake of allowing a 3 gen, for goodness sake, PLEASE, if spotted and chased, try to take the killer as FAR AWAY FROM THAT AREA AS POSSIBLE. This is also your BEST defence in this circumstance as the chance of the killer abandoning the chase is high. However if you’re going to go down, PLEASE be as far away from the remaining gens as possible.
  • There is absolutely no need to run everywhere. Conversely there is no need to sneak around everywhere. Pay attention to what is going on around everywhere BEFORE choosing to run or sneak.
  • It’s just a damn flashlight. You are not Rambo. Please contribute SOMETHING towards the objective. Running around behind every single chase that’s occuring is a complete waste of everybody’s time.
  • If a downed survivor chooses to crawl first, LET THEM. Wait till they’ve stopped, as they’ve likely found a suitable hiding spot to start recovering. Running over, and drawing attention to yourself, this bringing the killer back over to a slug is one of the single most frustrating things in this game.

Good advice. Sadly, a lot of people won't read it all, or listen. These things are standard for me as a solo survivor player, and I notice a lot of people don't do any of these things.

I'm going to counter point 1 & 2 here by saying if I'm on death hook & nobody else is, I'm out for blood and will do everything in my power to get my team to stop being selfish and take a hit/down.

These are really good advice for those who really need it! Please read them y'all, if you haven't already. As someone who has over 3k hours, having players knowing these tips would be greatly appreciated! :)

"Conversely there is no need to sneak around everywhere."

Story of my morning matches. Sometimes, I feel I'm doing a 1v1.

(But I don't know why during the morning I'm matched with only yellow ranks, while I'm red rank...)

For the last point, I'm guilty. I will pay attention to it now and wait for the downed Survivor to crawl where they want to before acting.

Doing the objective so EVERYBODY, or as many as possible can escape, is NOT being selfish.

    Also:

    • If you haven't been hooked all game and your team mate is on death hook, please take some agro for them. DON'T HIDE when they are being chased. I have died so many times when stealth players refuse to help.

THIS! Number of times I do it, but when it's my turn, the one with zero hook who's near me hide and happily let me die.

Never said they were doing gens, because most of the time they're crouching behind rocks while I'M the only one doing gens, hence why I get punished for it with death hook.

But even if we were to go off of what you just implied, if my team was stuck to gens and took no blame for when it comes to chases, it's definitely being selfish. This is a team game, and letting your teammates die when you could've done something just so YOU can escape is the exact opposite of why you made this post.

It's the same thing when your teammates let you hit 2nd hook or even let you die on hook because they're stuck to gens -- it's infuriating.
