I can't believe how strong The Trickster is! :D
April Fools :)
Joking aside how does a killer get released like this, using his power is an actual detriment outside of very niche situations. His power is flawed in every single way imaginable it's insane.
- He has slowdown on top of slowdown on top of being a 110% killer.
- Main Event is useless 90% of the time and in about 8% of the times you do use it it ends up being a detriment. Who thought this needed a nerf from PTB to live?????
- The recoil. Oh my ######### god the recoil. As a console player it's almost impossible to hit more than 2 or 3 knives even if survivors are stuck in an animation. Glad to see BHVR still cares about us :)
There's way more issues he has but it's too many to list. Also just wanna point out BHVR's excuse of there being "no good data" on the PTB being actual horse #########. It's a shame they released their April Fools day joke a bit early.

Imagine not giving a ######### about 7 knifes in your back until the 8th hits you.
18 -
Although the first bit is undeniable as it's a fact, the other two I disagree on, coming from a console player like you.
0 -
The it will take then six months to "gather the data" before they make changes to him, which will probably be #########.
1 -
I'm convinced for the first 7 knives Trickster is throwing really shiny paper clips and then for the 8th he breaks out a real knife.
0 -
Nah even better, he'll get Clown treatment and stay the way he is for 2-3 years then get a tiny buff that can also somehow help survivors.
3 -
That's why he's called the Trickster. All of his knives are trick knives.
2 -
How can you disagree with Main Event being useless most of the time, and when it isn't it's actually a detriment. Think about how much of a time sink it actually is.
1 -
What do you mean? I'm fine at 7, I even regenerate like Wolverine. But hooooo boy when that 8th knife hits me things get real.
5 -
literally must be some kind of joke to scam thousands of people out of 7 bucks to experience this crap killer and strong survs as usual
0 -
You get slower than nurse half way through it on top of not being able throw for like 10s after
2 -
The recoil I can understand slightly cause it could effect everyone differently, but Main Event is just bad. It either activates:
- As you're about to down a survivor, making it useless.
- As you injure a survivor with knives causing them to get a speed boost making it useless cause you aren't catching in time to activate Main Event.
- In a building or high walled loop, making it impossible to hit knives and useless.
- Or you do activate it and they still get away unless you're right on their ass, in which case you could have just smacked them regularly, making it an unnecessary time waste.
Main Event is just so bad in nearly every situation.
0 -
Exactly.
It's literally the worst-designed power they've ever put in the game. The Slow down makes literally no sense.
I thought Main Event wasn't supposed to slow you down? At least it didn't on the PTB. Do you think it's intended or a bug? Or am I just remembering incorrectly?
0 -
I think I remember hearing that the wording is just bad. Normally, when you throw knives in a flurry, you get slower and slower, but you don't incur more slowdown with Main Event, keeping you stuck at the normal 92% for when you're aiming knives, meaning that it is working as intended and is STILL hot garbage.
0 -
It's especially bad if you compare it to other power bursts you need to work for (e.g Myers Tier 3,Onis Blood Fury or Plagues Corrupt Purge).
Every other power burst can pretty much win you the game, that's how strong they are.
And then there's Main Event that let's you down a single survivor,if they're completely out in the open with no LoS blockers near them 🤣
0 -
They don't even need a LoS blocker, just hop in a locker and you're safe. It's old Legion and Twins all over again. It amazes how little devs think about lockers and their interactions with killer powers.
0 -
Well, Legion can actually stab you forever and Deathslinger can shot you as many times he wants without downing you. So it's not not new survivors being made of steel. Trickster still sucks btw.
0 -
...
I can't even fathom why they thought being 8% slower than Survivors during a Killer's activatable power was a good idea.
0 -
You know what might have been cool? For each knife the in the back of the survivor they would get a slight movement speed penalty.
This would at least give the Trickster a reason for all the slowdown.
0 -
I know, that's why i said that you MIGHT get a down if the survivor is completely out in the open.
I don't really know what going on aswell.
At least the Twins are decent if you camp and slug a lot.
Old Legion was able to cheese the mend timer or could use Franks Mixtape + Stab Wound Studys for easy downs.
Trickster has absolutely nothing
0 -
Moving at Nurse speed during a big activateable ability you worked to earn is clearly very fun and rewarding, now buy some of the nearly 6 outfits we just released :D
1 -
I would be happy if the knifes just didn't decay. It would at least make every hit you do get "stick".
As it is, you can just run jump and skip away with up to 7 knifes sticking out of your ribs.
0 -
This is probably the stupidest part about this killer...
Getting flapped by Clown box cuter? "HELP I HAVE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP"
Getting stabbed all over your boddy by 7 throwing knifes? "this is fine"
They kinda failed hard here when it comes to immertion, which is sad since they probably would have gotten away with just replacing the blades with nails or something.
1 -
He would be so much better if the knives didn't decay or if the survivor at least had to go through an animation to remove the knives.
1 -
It's really just funny to me, they somehow made an M1 killer move at 110%. Even Twins on release were better cause Victor could be a motion detector if he got stuck in the ground or it would be a 3v1 if someone kidnapped him. He could even somewhat counter lockers through a bug. Even if you didn't use Victor Charlotte is still 115% just making her flat out better than Trickster.
1 -
In all seriousness a majority of my games as survivor when going against trickster involves at least 1 character dc or giving up on first hook so there maybe something to him we're just not seeing.
0 -
My shredded muscles can absorb the first seven, but then they pop and deflate like air bags when the eighth one hits.
3 -
This is really a big part of what he needs, make survivors need to go into a small animation to pull out the knives so you dont just lose it mid chase and it would have some stalling potential like Legion or Deathslinger. It would make it so that even if he drops the chase they still have to waste time pulling the knives out, cause right now hitting a survivor with even one knife and then dropping the chase is a time loss. Hitting a survivor with a knife and not finishing off the chase with knives is a loss for the Trickster in any way, shape, or form.
1 -
I'm growing really tired of all the folks saying Trickster is weak and then going on to get a 2-4k every match they play him.
0 -
Anyone else feel like the throwing knives should have been a deck of Playing Cards? I've seen videos of profession Trick card throwers embedding the cards into vegetables from 20ft away, so they can do damage. Sure the damage amounts to little more than paper cuts, but then again, so do these "Knives". Just a thought.
0 -
Even Legion/Deathslinger injure you if healthy AND apply a Bleed out timer. Even if you cannot down them with their powers, it still causes delays for survivors.
Unless you commit to hitting all 8 knives with Trickster, you wasted time on throwing + reload. Not to mention the knives just decay automatically for survivors, no mending needed.
0 -
you are absolutely right. WE ARE TRASH AND YOU KNOW IT. hahaha
0 -
Might be bad internet connection or survivors being incredibly bored to go against a killer that's just THAT weak
0 -
I mean Trickster is a fundamentally weak killer. My best games with him have come because I barely used his power and chased people as an M1 killer at 110%. A killer shouldn't be designed in a way that using his power gives worse results than not using it. The only reason I've had a few semi decent games with him is cause of potato survivors. Any good survivors completely wipe the floor with him.
1 -
That would definitely fit the "Trickster" aesthetic much more, just like making ricochet knives basekit would. And to be fair, being hit by a card like that HURTS. I remember me and my friends just whipping cards at eachother and they hurt, and we were just dumb teenagers, I can't imagine what being hit by one of those professional card throwers would feel like. Probably could make the cards an insta down tbh they hurt.

I have watched multiple red-ranked Killers matched against red-ranked survivors get 2-4ks with him. So it's not because of "potato" survivors.
0 -
Implying red surivor can't be potatoes (spoiler : they totally can because a lot of them are just mediocre players that boost eachothers with SWF).
