Whispers + Spies in the Shadows

So, this last cycle I was finally able to get Leatherface to rank 1. In the past I haven't been able to get him above rank 3, but this time I did it and with a combo of perks I didn't expect to work out:

  • BBQ
  • Whispers
  • Spies in the shadows
  • Hex: Ruin

I was basically just lunging to win, but it seemed like once whispers activated, spies in the shadows would alert me to anyone moving in the area. I tried nurses calling instead of ruin, which pretty much guaranteed I would down anyone that came within 32 meters of me, but, gen rushing prevented me from getting more than 1 or 2 sacrifices most times.

Are there any other perk combos that aren't used often that work well?

Just my personal take on Whispers but I find it messes with where you look more often then not. If I were to run whispers I tend to not do as much "detective work" to figure out my targets location and rely too much on the perk only to not find them.

Spies on the other hand has been one of those perks no one uses and for that reason no one plays around it and I too have had some good success running it. I find it very useful on Pig since once survivors have a RBT on they will be in a rush to get places disturbing more crows than normal.

That's true about whispers. I do the same thing, really, I always undershoot the 32 meter range and end up searching too close to where the perk activates. By the time I get to where the surv was when it activated, the surv is probably gone.

Yeah, that makes sense, I don't think I've seen anyone using calm spirit. Spies does seem to become less and less effective as I learn where survs run after being found. I guess it can serve as training wheels until I get used to tracking survs more.

whispers has always confused me here and there but it does work. i've had better success with spies. like waffle said no one plays around it really. it helps me track more accurately than whispers. plus whispers is noisy, which isn't good.
