Yeah but the artists and the naughty part of this community having a field day with him.

Because a certain dev said in a stream lately they will not even be looking at Trickster for 2 months.
Get comfy.

Imagine wanting to have time to wait and see where improvements would do the most good, instead of just randomly buffing ######### in the hopes it works.
I mean, they could have kept him in the ptb 2 months longer, and he would come out perfectly optimized... For PC. Then in 2 months or so they'd still have to adjust for consoles.

He’s just saying stuff to say stuff. 3 years ago before DS was nerfed they said DS was fine and would never be looked at yet 2 months later they nerfed it to the version we have today. They always do this they say there never going to change something then they do it anyway the next week or a month later

Are you fr????

Behavior is always the slowest when it comes to game balancing, took them 3-4 years to finally get wraith and ds to be somewhat balanced

The killer has been out for three days. I don't know how this translates to the devs ignoring feedback. You're not going to get a full picture of the killer's performance on the PTB, and the devs have historically tended to make small changes from the PTB and while saving bigger changes for upcoming patches. Absolutely nothing suggests they're going to leave him as is.

Thanks for letting me know I won't need to buy Trickster - Granted a source would be good on who specifically said this granted I can believe it.

I am quoting a DbD Dev that said this yesterday.
I am sure he will receive buffs as well, but they claim they will not be looking at him for 2 months.
As others have said, this isn't set in stone.

They don’t care that much is obvious. The developers have all given up on the game, now they throw out any old trash and just take their paycheck. Whoever is running the company clearly doesn’t give a damn about quality either as long as the money keeps coming in.
This game is the most soulless cash-in I’ve ever seen.
Trickster’s problems would have been very obvious during development and they still didn’t change anything, they still left him in this state all the way to release.

It's been three days. BHVR just don't work on that kind of schedule.
I'd say they were naïve in thinking the minor buff they gave after the PTB was enough, but they won't make any major changes now until the mid-chapter patch at the earliest. That doesn't mean they're not going to take feedback from now into account for that patch.
3 -
Not true at ######### all they gave spirit 2 buffs after the mid chapter in 2 weeks. Ghostface was buffed after PTB. Demogorgon was buffed 1 week after he came out. Blight was buffed 2 weeks after he came out and Twins was buffed twice after they came out.

I'm surprised this opinion is so uncommon on the forum. I 100% agree. It's inefficient and sometimes even counterproductive to make sweeping balance changes based on PTB feedback. I'd much rather they take that feedback into consideration and address any glaring issues before launch, then make sensible improvements once they have a chance to see how the killer is performing in the wild.
------
I have not played Trickster yet myself (still saving up shards), but my impression from playing against him is that he's very map dependent, but not powerless. He's actually pretty solid on maps with a large percentage of loops he can throw over. He's even stronger than Huntress in those loops, as the sheer amount of blades he has means he has a huge margin for error and will almost certainly land enough blades to do damage (especially given that he has Main Event). Against Trickster, if the survivor is unable to use the injured speed boost to get to a tile with higher walls, they're dead. Against Huntress you could probably even stay at that tile and dodge unless the Huntress is really good.
His relative stealth is another advantage over Huntress. Especially with M&A he can punish people repairing unsafe gens pretty well, whereas she has the lullaby to contend with. It's probably easier to land eight "melee knives" than a melee hatchet as huntress too; the fact that missing knives isn't punishing in the slightest does tilt the engagement in his favor, and like Huntress or Plague he can follow that up with a quick M1 for fast downs.
That said, though, if you're on a map with lots of loops that he can't throw over, he's in trouble. That map-dependent-ness is similar to Huntress too, but his is even more extreme because Huntress can definitely handle loops that can't be thrown over better than he can. At least she has the 50/50 at pallets where she can either swing through or pull back to throw her hatchet in anticipation of a pallet drop. If Trickster pulls back to throw knives and the survivor drops the pallet he still won't be able to land enough knives to do damage. Without that possibility for a 50/50 he's at a huge disadvantage in that situation, especially at 110% speed. I don't think there's a worse killer at loops like that.
As far as I know he can't charge up Main Event and then save it for later, though, which is a shame - that way he could at least be opportunistic to ratchet up pressure. It'd also be cool if he could ricochet knives in his base kit. That way he might be able to make his own sorts of 50/50s if he's good; like, let's say you pull back and start throwing knives as a survivor is dropping a pallet. You might only land a few knives right away before the survivor breaks line of sight, but if you could ricochet knives you could land additional hits when they're around the corner. It also just feels like it would raise his skill ceiling, which is great.
------
As is he's still fun to play against, he looks fun to play as, anyway, and he's alright on some maps. Plus, until MMR is settled and performing well, matchmaking is probably going to be a bigger factor in whether you win with him than how strong he is. So @Moxie, while I'm surprised to hear that, even a few month delay before changes doesn't seem like it'll be the end of the world, assuming they're prioritizing changes that will improve the game more. If Trickster is performing extremely and unreasonably poorly on the aggregate, though, I wouldn't be surprised if they re-prioritize making changes.

Yes they dont work on that schedule but where is an announcement of hey we will be working on him like the twins with the locker counter issue

Its somewhere in here but these are the reason I'm very mad about this chapter
3 -
You have the clip for this because please I need to see it with my own eyes.

One thing that wasn't ignored was all the social media luvvies with their cosplays and fanart. That got retweeted and shared. And what about the winks? What about the wiiiiiiiiiinks?!
Yep. All the important stuff was covered.
7 -
Must be nice not having to do his job for 2 months while the "Stats" are "Gathered".
3 -
I dont have an exact clip but the video above your comment has the clip in it

Boy howdy, wish I could make money AND not have to do anything for two months.
3 -
Not entirely true they do stuff just not many like how they do it

I am not tech savvy and I don't have a Twitter account but search this article in general discussions, it was yesterday:
I'M CONVINCED THAT ALL-KILL WAS A MIS-TIMED APRIL FOOLS' PRANK
Clip is in article.

I'm going to be trying him out this weekend when I get back home. I guess people are impatient and/or don't remember the first reactions to spirit, deathslinger and nurse. Sometimes a killer seems weak until people learn how to play him. Sometimes the killer is weak and time is needed to find the best way to fix him without overcorrecting. Either way, a few weeks, even 2 months of watching and gathering information seems fair. Hell, Shammies in WoW destroyed battlegrounds for years before that got fixed. Watching Ohmwrecker play him, he seems like a lot of fun.
2 -
To be fair this is nothing new.
As people have already stated they typically do minor tweaks from a ptb.
The devs stated a while ago that new chapters will have more changes in the mid chapter patches after release to give them time to gather data. The ptb afterall is played by such a small minority and is not on all platforms. Its primarily to check for bugs in the upcoming chapter.
3 -
They did do changes remember? He used to have a good addon and didn't autothrow his useless main event but he was deemed too powerful and had to be nerfed. They only need data if it's against their own opinion.

Hear hear!
1 -
I think you might be misunderstanding what social media is usually for lol
2 -
So we are stuck with another awful killer for a month and a half.
Instead of doing some number tweaks in a hot fix f every player u are waiting for a (month and a half) in that time I could possible get a permit or 2 jobs
0 -
He can be fun but how long is that going to last when every game you get 1 or 2 kills and a entity displeased
0 -
I sort get the addon because people were not using it as intended. but they could of handled it differently
1 the blade bounce once base
2 trickblades, make it where the bonus damage is applied after bouncing twice .

Guess I'll find out for myself this weekend :)

If social media is usually a means for making one come across as a morally-corrupt, materialism-driven narcissist: I think a high percentage are doing a great job.
0 -
I agree, but notice how "having meaningful discussions about game balance" isn't part of that description lol
1 -
Here it is! This is how they show their love for us. Why would I play a game if not even it's devs can do something good? Bugs are everywhere and with every update we encounter worse and worse bugs, unbalanced ######### everywhere, but a weak af killer has to be added, hitbox is crazy, dead hard is useless. Oh, I am so silly, they add us skins and we can spend 15$ and look nicer while going to "have some fun".
0 -
Knowing them probably 6 months to a year lmao.

That video just pissed me off so much wow. Almo is something else
1 -
I think many, particularly those who had a breathing fit over the Trickster's reveal, would rather have a new 2000 cell winking emote over game balance.
0 -
I'm sure some do, and those folks are enjoying the content on Twitter. Doesn't say the anything about what the devs are actually doing or planning to do for game balance.

I know that's why im so pissed
