Trickster Buff Ideas! what are your ideas for buffing this Killer?

So, I feel that almost everyone can agree that Trickster is a fun killer but he has a really hard time do to how weak he is. SO! What changes can be done for Trickster to help him?

Quality of life changes-

  • Movement speed increased to 115 / 4.6 - Movement speed decreased to 110 while holding knives

I think we can all agree that trickster is...slow... and do to how his power works he doesn't need to be. In fact he shouldn't be. His 110 speed hinders him from catching up to survivors. For a killer that takes 16 knives to down a survivor this is devastating!

  • Ricochet Base Kit

The ricochet add one was the first of its kind! and that has been talked about before for Huntress. So, it was cool that this killer got to have it. It makes his power more unique and is something no other killer can do in game. It was one of the main things talked about while he was in the PTB.

  •  NO recoil while NOT in Main Event!

Don't you hate it when you are aiming at a survivor through a crack in a wall or any other loop and the knife just yeets to the left for no reason making you miss a very important shot? yeah, me too....

  • Laceration does not decay while in the Trickster's terror radius.

This kinda goes without saying that it's so frustrating to be mid-chase with a survivor but you can't get a good angle to shot and they start losing their laceration.

Main Event Changes-

  • Can hold Main Event until he sees an opportunity to use it
  • Main Event buffed to 45 sec base (can be increased with add ons)
  • Maintains 115 movement speed.
  • Recoil added.
  • Vaults windows/breaks pallets 4% faster.
  • Takes 10 knives to down survivors at 28 meters or less. Takes 6 to down survivors at 28 meters or more, and takes 2 knives to down survivors at 32 meters or more.

With most other killers that have a type of build up power they are able to hold it until they need it. Like Oni or Myers. It becomes bothersome when Main Event activates but you are in no position to use it. So, with the ability to hold on to his power he can easily punish survivors that group up easier or to take a risk that might benefit you greatly.

Maintaining the 115 movement speed will insure that the Trickster can catch survivors for that limited amount of time. This is also the reason for the 4% vaulting speed and pallet breaking speed. He's not a insta down killer like Oni or Myers. So I feel like he would benefit more with being able to make faster actions if the survivor he is chasing gets to a strong loop. However a good survivor will still be able to loop him. This can also be used for fun meme build with Bamboozle and Fire up.

Recoil added for the "make it rain" theme he already has.

This last idea comes from my experience playing him. I can make the long shots! but what does it matter if I do? it doesn't benefit me in any meaningful way. This way The Trickster can take the risk while in Main Event and go for the long shots and if he's good enough he can be rewarded greatly for it. Maybe get some awesome trick long shots with the ricochet!!

These are my ideas for buffing Trickster. What are yours?

Love these ideas! him being able to passively get the meaningful longshot while even while not in Main event is a great idea!

Laceration takes longer to go away, 115% ms, 32m tr, remove "recoil", 110% ms when knives are in his hand and does not slow down further if he is only throwing 1 knife at a time, both knives hit in the center of the screen, main event is now activated manually, trickster always moves at 115% during main event, remove his annoying laughs and grunts

If they were to keep "Main Event" only able to be used during a small window of time, then that ability should replenish ammo. I find trickster needs to reload way too often.

Honestly, I would reduce his ammo to like 16 or something.

Make his knives apply a health state at 3 hits, slow down his throwing rate by a lot, make blade bounce base kit, make bounce blades not bounce off the ground only walls and objects, bounced blades apply a health state but can't down a survivor, only direct hit blades can.

Main event stays until you decide to use it, that is the only time he rapid fires knives, and they do not bounce and apply less laceration on hit.

Or, the lazy but ez way to fix him is just let you hold onto main event, and let him move at full speed when holding his knives; and survivors laceration meters are reduced and the time before they start regressing is massively extended.

The level of buffs he needs there is no point to discussing on these forums because it's going to sound like "Too much" to all the clueless survivor mains.

I like these ideas a lot honestly. I would like a bit more emphasis and reward on trick shotting with the bounce knives, but otherwise I think this is basically the perfect rundown honestly.

I want more reward for actual trick shots, not for aiming at their feet or anything like that, I mean actual well done bounce shots. I don't think bounce shots should do less, if anything they should do a lot more but not bounce off the ground.

Alright. In my experience, Trickster's lethality is... actually OK, its just too easy to counter. Also Main Event more than any other part of his kit needs to be buffed. I'm taking cues from his name and the fact that tricks can also refer to performing over the top and flashy physical feats. Which is... kind of what he does. Anyway...

    1. Main Event works like Blood Fury and stays around until you use it.
    2. Main Event allows Trickster fast vault windows and pallets with a suitably over the top animation.
    3. Main Event allows the Trickster to perform a forward somersault once per activation that lets him travel 6-8m forward.
    4. The activation time and the ending cool downs for Main Event probably need to be made less punishing.

Here's what I would do to him.

    SHOW STOPPER

    • Blades will now ricochet of off the environment one time.
    • While in the throw state, The Trickster's base movement speed is decreased to 105%.
    • Survivors Laceration Meter will no longer actively decay, but it will still reset after an M1 attack.
    • Survivors hit from over 20 meters away will suffer double laceration damage.
    • Healing will reduce the survivors current laceration by half.

    MAIN EVENT

    • Increased the amount of blade hits required to unlock Main Event.
    • After hitting the required amount of blades, Main Event can be activated freely.
    • Main Even no longer forces The Trickster to throw blades automatically.
    • While not throwing blades, The Trickster's base movement speed is increased to 120%.
    • While throwing blades, The Trickster's base movement speed is decreased to 110%.
    • While in Main Event, The Trickster loses the ability to individually throw blades.
    • While in Main Event, The Trickster no longer suffers from recoil or sway.

    ADD-ON'S

    • On Target Single: Slightly reduces the amount of blade hits required to unlock Main Event.
    • Lucky Blade: Healing will reduce the survivors current laceration by one fourth.
    • Waiting For You Watch: Healing will no longer reduce the survivors laceration.
    • Ripper Brace: Moderately reduces the amount of blade hits required to unlock Main Event.
    • Trick Blades: Blades will now ricochet off of the environment twice. Double ricochet hits grant bonus blood points. Trumps all other add-on's.
    • Edge of Revival Album: After ricocheting off of the environment, blades now shatter on impact when hitting the environment dealing 50% laceration to nearby survivors. Trumps all other add-on's.
    • Cut Thru U Single: Blades now pierce through survivors. Subsequent survivors hit by the same blade receive 50% laceration. Only effects the first time a blade is thrown, not when they ricochet. Trumps all other add-on's.
    • Death Throes Compilation: Blades now ricochet twice, shatter upon hitting the environment, and pierce through survivors. Moderately increase the amount of blade hits required to fill the Laceration Meter. Trumps all other add-on's.

Trickster should be left a 110 killer. He's a medium range killer like Deathslinger. His only problem is the amount of work necessary for such little reward. He can't get any hits that any other killer wouldn't be able to get in most circumstances. There's nothing about him that's 'special'.

    Here's the changes I'd make:

    • Trickster now has 3 Kinds of Blades. They are switched between similar to Clown's bottles. His blade count is shared among all three types. Type 1: Ricochet Blades, which bounce off of things. Type 2: Exploding Blades. Like the addon that makes them explode. And Type 3: Piercing Blades, which go through multiple survivors (similar to another add-on)
    • Reduce the number of blades to damage from 8 to 6.
    • Laceration doesn't decrease unless a survivor PATCHES UP. PATCHING UP takes 10 seconds for one knife, +3 seconds for each additional level of laceration. (So at 5 laceration, it takes 22 seconds). OR it can be done by another survivor, which takes 6 seconds, then +2 seconds for each additional level of laceration (up to 14 seconds)
    • Hitting with M1 will reset the laceration meter still
    • Main Event no longer has a cooldown where you can't throw any knives.
    • Main Event, once the meter is filled, the meter stays filled until you activate it.
    • No slowdown while throwing knives.
    • Reduce recoil
    • Trickster has a NEW ABILITY: SETTING THE STAGE. Trickster can place down "Stages" on the map. Up to 3 at a time. Then when pressing the alternate ability button, The Trickster will throw down a smoke bomb, and appear at one of his stages (He can choose which). Survivors can destroy stages, and it takes them 14 seconds to destroy one. He then gets them back to place at his choosing.

  • Main event

    • Can now choose when to activate it (in line with Myers, Plague, Oni, Ghostface)
    • Much shorter time between having it become available and being able to throw knives with it
    • Remove the awful extended cooldown period where he can't throw knives
    • Stop the auto throwing or remove the speed slowdown. As it is he pretty much only stands in spot once he starts throwing

    Other

    • Increase his speed while holding M2
    • Reduce the recoil a bit
    • At least 1-2 less blades to take a health state

These wouldn't make him amazing but would stop him being the joke he is right now. There's still the case of how easy he is to loop at some spots. At least with huntress she only needs 1 shot at those loops.

I'm inclined to say just give him 115 percent speed just like the Plague as both their powers isn't instant down and his is arguably harder to land than hers and Plague's Corrupt Purge is leagues ahead of his Main Event.

115% speed and fix his slowdown in Main Event and I think he'd be solid.

Hag, Huntress, and Deathslinger you can justify the 110% speed. You can't justify it on Trickster as he is now.

Laceration meter not going down in terror radius would be bad as it's the only bit of what we can call game /counterparts the survivors have against this killer

If BHVR are so adamant on giving this guy so many penalties for his power I think they should double down on his spammy nature to give him more of an identity and I think this can be done with a few changes.

1: Trickster's knives get one bounce by default

2: Trick blades adds an extra bounce (knives bounce twice)

3: Main Event now doubles the bounces of your knives (e.g. default blades will now bounce twice during main event and trick blades will bounce four times)

If anything main event should feel like a main event and I think that main event should be going absolutely apeshit with knives flying everywhere turning small area into a giant chaotic mess for survivors.

difference between trickster and Slinger is that slinger can down you in 2 shots. Trickster can't. Regardless of him being a mid range killer he can't down survivors fast enough to justify the 110.

which is why you see many of other people say he needs to be 115.

Just making the laceration not decay would be a huge buff.

Makes every hit you do "stick". But he needs more buffs than that, just not sure what else.

    • Base movement speed up to 115%.
    • Laceration meter no longer decays if the survivor is injured.
    • Laceration meter is reset if a survivor is fully healed or downed.
    • Laceration is no longer lost if hitting a survivor with an M1 attack.
    • Trickster is slowed to 105% while readying knives versus the current 231312312%. This does not increase as you throw additional knives.
    • Trickster gains an additional mechanic - Precision (the longer a knife is held, the more accurate it becomes and the more laceration it adds to a survivor's meter if it hits). This encourages more trick shots and patience versus just spamming knives in a direction and praying.
    • Gains a new add-on that allows the Trickster to throw a fan of knives (5) when reaching fully charged Precision.
    • Gains a new add-on that removes the sprint burst gained by survivors injured by knives.
    • Ricochet becomes base kit.

    How's that for a start?

No to richocet as base kit. He supposed to be accurate, not just spamming knives at the floor and getting free bonus hits

His recoil needs to go and his main event needs to be storable so that you can use when you need it.

Atm he feels like he's spamming knives instead of aiming them. I prefer if his knife throws were much slower but but had more power and accuracy

Apart from some variable changes, I just wish Main Event was something different than throwing knives faster. He could throw a bunch of knives that spread, kind of like a shotgun, and maybe get pushed back a little with each throw.

Remove recoil, reduce wind up time for throwing knives.
