DS became too weak.
I know that DS used to be a very powerful perk and that it needed a change but I feel like they overdid it. It should have been more of a rework instead of a huge nerf. It’s still possible to fail the skill check. It doesn’t really prevent tunneling enough. People stop using it and tunneling increases since there’s no obsession. So here’s my idea for a rework:
Using whatever is at hand, you stab at your aggressor in a ultimate attempt to escape. After being unhooked for the second time Decisive strike activates until another Survivor is hooked. When being grabbed or picked up by the killer you automatically escape their grasp. stunning them for 5 seconds and you will not leave any Scratch Marks for the next 10 seconds. Grunts of Pain are reduced by 100% for the next 10 seconds. Bleeding is suppressed for the next 10 seconds.
Stunning the killer will disable Decisive strike for the remainder of the Trial and result in you becoming the obsession.
In my opinion it also matches the description of the perk better than it does right now. I know that doesn’t turn it into a true “anti tunnel perk” since you can hook the same survivor in a row without tunneling them but it forces the killer to also focus on other survivors and gives the survivor a second chance. It also can’t be abused anymore in the same manner.
What do you think? Don’t be too cruel thanks :)

It hasn't become too weak, its become less abusable since its core function hasn't changed. Now you just cant do whatever you want and be protected from anything the killer can do.
20 -
So you want it to be a fully passive perk that takes absolutely no skill, even the small amount needed to hit a skill check in this game?
I don't think it needs that.
9 -
God helps you. waiting for the comments

Does noed take skill? :)
3 -
I like this idea a lot actually! Especially when it’s a nurse or spirit DS only helps you so much
0 -
That just sounds even more abusable then old ds, and for that reason im out
3 -
It does the exact same thing it did before. Only its end conditions changed.
2 -
Failing the skill check is the fault of the player. Personally would've preferred it be 45 seconds with the disable effects but can be used twice.
2 -
Absolutely. The Survivors don't just drop dead the moment it activates, the killer still has to find and catch them. It makes it a bit easier, but still takes skill and effort. Also it can be removed by Survivors before it even activates, which is not true of any Survivor perk
3 -
Now it serves its real purpose, to punish tunneling.
It is not 60 seconds invulnerability mode anymore.
6 -
For the little it does now it really shouldn’t require a skill check anymore just in order to not get tunneled. The original DS was added with a skill check because it was a very powerful perk that could be used in many ways and not just as a anti tunnel perk. I also don’t really agree with what you said about noed, since downing someone with noed takes probably as much skill as opening the exit gate as a survivor, if not even less.

I agree 100%, it is too weak. It is not even a perk at this point. I can't think of any other game where a perk that is paid for and earned punishes you for doing things in the game. Especially a perk like decisive strike, with a skillcheck as you alluded to pretending to be decisive when it really is a killer perk.
It's like sprint burst that doesn't give you a sprint burst.
3 -
That all depends on the Survivor
Properly executed DS gives you 20-30 seconds before the killer can catch up, a health state, and saves you from the hook. That's quite a bit of an advantage to gain back.
As far as NOED, again, depends on the Survivor. If they freeze up then sure, it's pretty easy, if they have any skill at looping it will take effort and skill to beat.

It didnt become to weak, weak perks have can be used, ds just became worthless
0 -
An opinion, but tell me how it became worthless?
3 -
Fully passive, takes no skill... sounds like most of the strongest killer perks.
I guess skill is only reserved for when you’re playing survivor!
1 -
But yeah DS is worthless. I stopped playing after the last update but the few matches I did play nobody carried it. As a spirit it was incredibly boring to just tunnel and kill everyone instantly.
0 -
Which Perk is it that automatically downs Survivors without any input from the killer exactly?
1 -
I want too know too Which Perk is it that. Automatically downs Survivors without any input from the killer exactly
2 -
I would love to run that perk, it sounds amazing!
2 -
I play survivor most of the time and I don't find DS to be too weak, if nothing it makes people ply more safely unlike before when they had whole minute of invincibility. Gotta love seeing all the survivor mains crying all the time now that their main abusable perk has been nerfed

DS remove now a lot of options that you could do while in chase, you cannot heal yourself with an speed medkit either get your friend up when he is 99% on the ground, if your teammate decide to heal you for 0.01 seconds you loose the ds and you cant do anything about it
If the killer hook you and kick your generator, and them you get unhooked and the killer are already on your ass, you cant even gen tap cuz, hey u are gonna loose your ds
the play that most ######### the killer for tunneling was when 2 guys are hooked, you was one of the guys, and the killer goes for you, if your other teammate are gonna die, you should go to the save if you are probably going down, even if you dont have DS, assuming that this is your 2 hook, this can bassically save the match, this would turn an situation of 1 guy dead/almost dead, and 1 on the hook, to only you on the hook
Resume: DS with good players now remove a lot of options that could save the game while in chase, It has literally no reason to bring an perk that will desactivate in normal situations ( that situations happen once per match and if dont happen in one match it will occour in the next ) DS now is now so usseles that for tunneling some other perks like DH SB Iron will started to be better to a lot better

The DS skill check is already a joke.
It should be hard to hit, like the skill check you get when you are working on a gen and the killer uses Oppression.
1 -
I think ds should definitely get a small buff. I would like it if it had the same effect as a bloody party starter/fire cracker.
0 -
"Input" Pressing M1 for you equally as hitting a skillcheck.
I'm guessing it takes tremendous amount of effort for you to left click?
1 -
So then, you don't actually have an example? Left click is about as hard to press as the spacebar. Of course, to hit the Survivor, I have to catch them first, and that only takes little skill against Survivors who have little skill.
0 -
"if your teammate decide to heal you for 0.01 seconds you loose the ds and you cant do anything about it"
Literally not how the perk works, have you actually been using the new ds, or do you prefer to just complain about it instead?
2 -
99,99% of survivors in DBD then. Especially considering how the match making works here and how rank doesnt matter, you have 2 red ranks in a match (and even a toddler can rank up in this game) together with 1 rank 20 and 1 rank 10, versus whatever.
So yes, even a husky could successfully use NOED, for example.
0 -
Then the issue is too many unskilled Survivors, not the perk. Balancing around unskilled players does nothing but encourage brain-dead playstyles.
0 -
Would you say it takes skill to play killer in this game?
0 -
Against skilled Survivors, yes. Like every multiplayer game the amount of skill required varies by the skill level of your opponents in the match.
0 -
So basically that translates into, you need no skill to kill 99,99% of the survivors in this game. Yeah, I agree.
0 -
There I would disagree. I don't believe that 99% of the player base are unskilled, as you seem to suggest. Probably closer to like 20%, which is more in line with every other multiplayer game.
0 -
But I'm not suggesting it. I'm affirming it. That's the reason solo queue is unplayable and will continue to decline until the majority of the survivors is basically SWF only. I would like to see the increase of SWF vs solo from the beginning of the game to now. I wanna bet money solo queue has been on the decline dramatically. Updates like last one push the playerbase either out of the game or into SWF.
0 -
I disagree then. I think when the sbmmr is fully implemented, we will see players teamed with those that match their skill better. I believe that because it was my experience during the 24 hour test they did. All my teammates during that test were good. None were amazing, but then neither am I. They did all know the game and played well, and overall it was one of my best experiences in the solo queue.

It did became USELESS not WEAK, for the precision.

It's good to see some people still have that blind faith in Behaviour, sort of reminds me of a religion. We'll have to agree to disagree.
0 -
It's not blind if it's based on my experience, but ok. Agree to disagree :) I hope your solo matches go better for you.

Nice i did an interpretetion error, so are you just gonna ignore my point and talk about an error that i made, like an classic 12Y twitter user
Or are actully tell me why am i wrong?
0 -
Ok, factual errors aside, Let's go point by point.
"DS remove now a lot of options that you could do while in chase, you cannot heal yourself with an speed medkit"
How bad is the killer at chasing that you can get a full self heal off while supposedly being tunneled? If you can stand still that long and not get hit, you aren't really being tunneled, or even seriously chased. After the heal you are back to full health and don't need the protection. If you are starting a heal and get interrupted by the killer, then you obviously didn't make the smart play, and instead of worrying about ds, should spend more time paying attention to your surroundings.
" either get your friend up when he is 99% on the ground"
Yeah, as someone who had a teammate be "helpful" like this, I'm happy for the change. If someone is being chased by the killer while I'm Slugged the last thing I want them to do is pick me up and offer me as a sacrifice to them. That's just not a team player move. Ditto for unhooking while being chased (without BT), there's a reason it's called an unsafe unhook.
"if your teammate decide to heal you for 0.01 seconds you loose the ds and you cant do anything about it"
Factually wrong, moving on.
"If the killer hook you and kick your generator, and them you get unhooked and the killer are already on your ass, you cant even gen tap cuz, hey u are gonna loose your ds"
Why in this scenario is the teammate who unhooked you (again, unsafe unhook) not tapping the gen first? Given how absurdly slow the gen regression speed is, you could get unhooked, get caught, hit ds and tap the gen during the stun and It would make at most a difference of 5% of gen progression. Weigh your options and play accordingly.
"the play that most [BAD WORD] the killer for tunneling was when 2 guys are hooked, you was one of the guys, and the killer goes for you, if your other teammate are gonna die, you should go to the save if you are probably going down, even if you dont have DS, assuming that this is your 2 hook, this can bassically save the match, this would turn an situation of 1 guy dead/almost dead, and 1 on the hook, to only you on the hook"
This has nothing to do with DS. It's hook trading. BT is the perk you need for that play to be effective. Also, how is the killer in this scenario tunneling if he's literally hooking the only 2 people left in the match?
Anything else?

I guess not. :)

I can agree that DS took quite a substantial nerf, but I think they went in the right direction with it.
A compromise I'd be ok with, is that working on objectives drastically increases the rate the timer depletes, rather than removing DS altogether. Something like, tapping a gen or starting to heal immediately removes 10s off the timer, and continuing to work on the objective doubles the rate is depletes. Which means if you jumped straight onto a gen, or immediately started healing yourself off the hook, then DS would only last 25 seconds. If you tapped a gen and then ALSO healed yourself, it would only last about 15-20 seconds.
