So with the recent events with the All Kill chapter, are you worried for the fifth anniversary?
The All Kill chapter dropped couple days ago, and the community says Trickster is by far the worse killer in the game. Quite frankly he's very bad, and his power is just very wacky honestly. So I think we have our official worst killer in the game, and no Clown was never the worst to me.. Back to the topic these last two chapters have been major disappointments, and I imagine a lot of people are very skeptical of what they think is gonna happen with the fifth anniversary coming around the corner. I can only imagine that this next chapter is gonna be a make or break for the community, especially since it's more than likely gonna be licensed. I mean with how things have been since the Halloween event last year, I'd be very conspicuous if the game plans on getting better. If the next chapter disappoints I can only imagine the implosion that will be served here on the forums, will be interesting to see.

Assuming the 5th anniversary chapter is licensed. I'm not that worried. I feel like BHVR has a bigger incentive to put out a good licensed chapter than they do putting out a good original chapter.

No i'm not.
4 -
I worry about anything they do regarding game design or balance. Everything else usually turns out pretty decent.
When is the fifth anniversary, anyway?
1 -
I am hoping the anniversary dlc will be the one that brings me back to dbd after a 1 year break

I'm not worried at all, aside from balance, this chapter is amazing. You see that they put love into the cosmetics, the design for the characters, the animations and the lore. The voice actor of The Trickster did a fantastic job of conveying the personality.
We might even get a map in the future.
That said, I'd be more surprised if the 5th anniversary chapter was bad.

If licensed BHVR has more at risk if they put out a bad chapter just because it's not just their reputation on the line. What could screw them over is if it's a license that a large portion of the community is against.
I'm more concerned about the event. I'm hoping no more watch streamers and hope you can enter long code before others, they should be encouraging players to play the game not watch others play it. I'm hoping the bloodweb is filled with the event offerings/items/addons and not like the last few where you get one maybe 2 per blood web. Hopefully if they have something like the crowns last year they'll have something in place where survivors that find one won't be tunneled/facecamped by killers trying to prevent them from getting the cosmetic. That event was pretty terrible to play as survivor.

No aside from the killer being weak All Kill was a great chapter. If anniversarie has another weak killer I might be disapointed/annoyed but as long as the rest of the content like perks changes to other killers/perks and the event are good I will be fine with it.

I'm hoping that the last two chapters not being as good as we'd all hoped means that the 5th anniversary chapter is going to be as good as the devs could possibly get it, whether or not that's the case is a different question.
1 -
I think they took Trickster out very soon and maybe that is the reason that his power is very mediocre, but when it comes to a licensed chapter, things change, they will do it according to how it is in their movie or video game. Regarding the event, I prefer that the crowns return.

All I know is we better get two male survivors in a row. So far we've had 7 female character models released in the last year and a half. Compared to the one male, Felix.
1 -
I'm only worried it won't be the Candyman.
...For a total of 12 male survivors and 13 female survivors. We had way too many male survivors for a while, which somehow doesn't raise eyebrows.
7 -
This'll be the first big event ever since they announced they'll only do 2 big events each year.
I worry, but that's only cause it's the first one, i moreso have a feeling of excitement.
...Just don't mix in Archives so heavily, please.
5 -
Way too many forgettable male survivors. That raises more questions.
4 -
Subjective, and if you want to discuss why the female survivors were more memorable for most people, you should probably open a new thread.
2 -
Well by the time the anniversary comes it will have been 1 full year since the last good killer. The other 3 have had crippling problems. I think Twins was the better of the 3 but it took a few changes to get them there.
It feels like they’re just throwing ideas out there now with no worry about the execution. That and they’re afraid to make strong killers.
Also Pyramid was good but now he feels clunky. They should revert the speed nerfs. They can stop the m2 - m1 instant transition without that clunky slowdown inbetween
1 -
What do you mean by like 'a license a large portion of the community is against'. Like what Springtrap, or it not being a certain character like a RE chapter not featuring Nemesis, but instead it features Jack Baker or someone like that?
0 -
Actually the survivors are pretty evenly split sex wise, 12 males and 13 females. The next survivor we see could possibly be male however I wouldn't say the difference is big enough to guarantee the next to be male.
1 -
Expect disappointment.
1 -
Oh I know the survivors are evenly split. I still don't wanna see another female anytime soon after we've gotten nearly 7 in a row. Yui, Zarina, Cheryl, Lisa, Cybil, Elodie, and Yun. Compared to lonely Felix.
I think it's time we had a couple males in a row now.

I worry there won't be a bloodhunt, because those don't exist anymore.
3 -
and still no LGBT ones FeelsBadMan

I just hope it's licenced, then I don't have to buy a killer or play the game to level him
1 -
Don't care, I stopped buying characters for money since Twins.
If it's licensed, I'll wait till week after live release at least to buy new character and I'll buy them only if there's nothing wrong with them.
Although that would be the case if I even reinstall the game in the first place
1 -
Technically 16 female survivors if you include Lisa, Cybil and Alessa
0 -
No, because it's a licensed chapter. Probably a big one, and licenses keep me in the game
0 -
But why would you, those are just skins. No one ever talks as if there's six more killers, the Minotaur, Krampus and four Robbie the Rabbits.
4 -
Just give me 3x the Bloodpoints for an entire year plus more cakes in the bloodweb. That's all I really want from this event.
2 -
I hope they don't make a new killer if it going to be lackluster like the other two.
I also think they shouldn't do a event since they became so lazy and so greedy.
The only thing that would make me excited for the anniversary of they just give the to another developer's who know how to clean up their messy code and to optimise console to level PC.
0 -
No they've been treating their licensed characters well.
1 -
No one ever talks about the extra female skins either
0 -
Yes, exactly.
0 -
Lol they all still feel like Cheryl is playing dress up. If legendary skins had unique voices and actually updated the in-game portraits, then I’d say yes.
Legendary skins are really half-assed in this game. Even Monsters & Mortals had unique voices...

I'm not worried. Not every chapter can be good and i'm fine with that. It is a shame though because the design of the Trickster, in my opinion, is brilliant. I personally don't mind the Twins as much as most do, I think they had a really good concept for a power there. Certainly can't say the same for the Trickster.
0 -
They're due a good chapter, been on a roll lately with bad ones. Just hoping its not RE or FNAF, won't go for either of those. Hoping its Alien or a pleasant suprise.
1 -
Don't get me wrong, I'd love for a Resident Evil or Five Nights at Freddy's chapter, but those seem way too predictable and I want them to do something bigger for the anniversary. I'd go with Alien or Candyman, and if we're going with very very wishful thinking (as in something that definitely won't ever happen) then an IT or The Shining chapter.
0 -
Have they confirmed the fifth anniversary is going to be licensed though? I wouldn't get my hopes up incase it isn't. This is BHVR we are talking about
1 -
Last 2 anniversary ones have been licensed. PH and GF for 4 and 3. Those that aren't a fan of Blight, Twins and Trickster will be itching for a good chapter 20.
1 -
And that's the reason why we can't have events anymore, the archives are basically what killed them.
0 -
Almo and someone else worked on Trickster, he said it took six months with Trickster and well you saw how he turned out.
0 -
Yes for me the last 2 chapters were a completely disappointment, and they are too slow making changes, they announced demo/huntress/freddy changes a lot of months ago and we dont know anything yet
0 -
Im relatively certain they have Candyman ready to roll but won't release him until its close to the movie dropping (October)
0 -
As long as the chapter is Candyman or Child's Play I'm good. I know if we get one, we'll get the other. Universal needs to be in this game. They have a ######### ton of horror IP they can let DBD play with:
- Candyman
- Child's Play
- The Thing
- Happy Death Day
- Purge
- Dracula
- Frankenstein
- Wolfman
- Creature from the Black Lagoon
- Invisible Man
- Mummy
- Halloween (2018) & Halloween Kills
- Get Out
- Us
- Tremors
- Jaws

I'm probably in the minority here but I would love to see Jack Baker in the game. That said, I also know that he's not nearly as good or even as logical a fit as half the other RE villains.
I used to hear people talk about Chucky (doesn't seem very practical), IT (some good possibilities there), Pinhead, the Tall Man. Wasn't Candyman supposed to be up next? I'd be more than happy to see Tony Todd wrecking folks.
1 -
Idunno, some arguments can be made for the Trickster.
0 -
Will be no less than a license if they want it to feature "impressive stars" as they said
0 -
Nah Jack Baker isn't a minority at all, and honestly, he's the most realistic killer of the bunch, Nemesis would be ridiculous particularly with a game like this, he would be nerfed to where its actually sad. But those other choices aren't bad I personally would love to see Candyman come in as well
1 -
I wouldn't count Alessa. That's just Chery in her clothes. She's not a new character model.
0 -
The only problem with this is I feel that The Twins took over what the Child's Play killer's power would be. I figured Charles Lee Ray would be the killer, and for his power he possesses Chucky and Chucky can run around, similar to Vic. I can't really think of another way you could make a Child's Play killer, unless you want to have a giant Chucky, any ideas?
0 -
I'm not really thinking about it for now. I just want them to fix Trickster and make him viable to play before adding another killer that they'll somehow manage to screw up as well.
0 -
Not worried, I like the chapter. The only issue with the trickster I have is how long it takes to be able to throw kunai but he's pretty fun and I don't think he's as bad as people say. It seems like its going to be another Blight situation where everyone yells about how bad he is and then a popular streamer or youtuber comes up like they're good and shows it then everyone is like ah yes S tier killer. I've been having good games. They're not all 4ks but I also haven't leveled him until yesterday and today but the power is good if you can aim if not then sucks for you. Though I will say the "good" survivors make it harder to use but even then its not the worst thing ever.
