I think I'll stop saving other survivors
Sorry about the rant, but this has been happening a lot and I'm tired of it. In a lot of matches I have played recently, I find myself being one of the last two survivors alive and the other survivor gets hooked. So, if the killer is not face camping, I go for the save. Well, most of the time what has been happening is that the killer ends up going for me next and the person I saved decides to either hide or just keep away and when I get hooked, they just let me die. Worse, two or three of the survivors I saved turned on me.
When the killer found them again (when not camping, but coming back to the hook or just finding them later), they revealed my location, so the killer hooked me and let them survive. So I find myself wanting to just be selfish, because not being selfish is not working out for me. I think I'll just stop saving them if it's just me and the other survivor left. I don't feel as bad if the killer still wins by finding the hatch first and killing me than being betrayed by the very people I had just saved.

I'm sorry for your bad experiences.
But please, don't use this as an excuse to become another ######### selfish solo q teammate.
Keep being a team player, we need more of those than the selfish players.

If you are the last one left, it's perfectly legit in my book to let them rot as they have ceased being useful to your own survival.
I don't know how many times I've turned a potential 3k into a 4k because I've gone after the rescuer, hooked them in a strong position, then ended up getting both because the person who previously got rescued felt a sense of obligation to at least try rescuing the person that freed them
I can't blame them for feeling that way, it's that understanding of that noble emotion that compels me to use them as bait.
But ultimately, it's just a game. And you have to ask yourself which means more to you - 5000 points for your bloodweb or the feelings of a stranger you'll probably never meet again.....
Can't fault you in either decision myself.

I think it depends how they have played all round before hand. If I’ve done all the work I’ll leave them, but if they get a gen or two done while I’m running around a killer and I see bones being broken ill save you. I’ve been burned sure, but I’ve also had people play as a team right to the end

well realistically more people ruin games by their poorly thought out altruism than by working on gens and not going for the save. even if i was hooked, if the 3 were working on gens and popped them, I'm not even mad.
