made a whole acc to share my opinion

Hi, im danny, go by they/them, during this please if you dont agree dont be rude and use the wrong pronouns.

so since the ds nerf and im a little angry and wantedd to share how i felt. before we start i PLAY BOTH SIDES on xbox, i personally main cheryl & feng min and on killer side ghost, nurse & pig. i am definitely NOT THE best player out there but after playing for about 3 years i feel like i know a little about how the game evolved and the weird stuff thats happened.

so, me and my dad both play dbd, im rank 16 and hes rank 4-3, we did a little experiment with our ranking, i played the lower killer and surv side, he played the higher skilled players and from the middle range i watched streamers of that level and played a few custom matches with players from the skill level to see all side on skills and ranks.

from the games ME AND MY DAD HAVE PLAYED 60% of games the killer won and got a 4k/3k with hatch, 20% of games 4 survs escaped and the last 20% were games were 1 or 2 surv died while the others got out, this also counts hatch escapes with keys. looking at this i have come to the opinion of killers have it easier, now the real question is how?

i feel like lately the devs have been listening to the killer side more than the surv side, since the new anis and the nerf of ds i feel surv have lost a lot of stuff they used to win.

you're probably like "OH UR JUST TOXIC SURV MAIN LOL" but let me explain the anis and ds nerf in the way i see it, we'll start with DS since i feel this is gonna get the most hate.

WHY DO I THINK DS IS ENCOURGING TUNNELING:

DS use to be broken, i agree with that, killers would get dsed when they WERE NOT TUNNELING, but, since this new update i feel ds has completely lost what it about. for context ds has been nerfed to interacting/performing an action will automatically cancel it out. the only thing that doesnt cancel it out is hiding in a locker, searching a chest or just not touching ANYTHING. heres where i have a problem, if a surv who is injured comes to rescue you and YOU HEAL THEM FIRST and then the killer tunnels you, your ds is gone, if you from the hook after getting off, go to and totem to use inner strength, killer comes back, your ds is cancel and you go to work on a gen close to the hook cause it nearly finish, the killer comes back and goes only after you, your ds is cancelled. the way they should have nerfed it was if someone is hook WHILE DS IS ACTIVE, the ds gets cancelled, the way they have done it just makes me really annoyed cause you can now get tunnelled using a non-tunnelling perk.

NEW ANIS:

the new anis are poop, i find that the new avis and very very hard to 360 on. on xbox, to ME the new anis on surv seem very hard to move around, since the new update ive been getting stuck on rocks or objects in the map a lot more than i was with the old anis, im not in anyway saying THE DEVS DID A BAD JOB. i just think the anis could be improved to flow a lot nicer.

BONUS TOPIC: SURV PERKS:

im not sure on this one but it feels like a lot more surv have been nerf than killer perks, i wont go into detail on this one since i could be wrong but i feel like killer perks have been ignored while surv perks are getting hit hard.

FINAL OPINON:

you can of course think differently to this, i wanted to hear what the DBD fandom thought and i couldnt think of a better place. im sorry for spelling mistakes and stuff, im not very good at writing because of reading/writing problems but i tried my best, again, please be respectful.

    Welcome to the forum.

You would be better to start separate discussions on the different subjects your are discussing. It makes it easier to follow.

I regards to your experience with match results, they are just your experiences. You can't reach a significant conclusion to the game with just anecdotal experience. Other people's experiences can be vastly different. Ask any 2 people on this forum about which is the stronger role, and you will probably get 2 different answers.

In regards to the Devs favouring killer perks over survivor perks, you should look at killer perks on the DBD wiki. Quite it of them have been significantly needed. Most of the time with good reason. I would agree that survivor perks have probably received more nerfs. This is because survivor perks in general are stronger, with more potential to be game breaking (I'm looking at you original mettle of man).

All of the situations you have described for DS to be necessary in are situations in which you are not being tunnelled. Why should you receive 60's of invulnerability when NOT being tunnelled? If you have time to heal or do a gen, then you have time to run to a safer part of the map.

Okay, so the cliff notes version is this: survivor is, and always will be, much stronger and easier than killer. It's just that most people really, really suck and/or play solo que.

In the recent nerfs, Undying was a killer perk and was ridiculously overpowered, now it's gone. Survivor movement is jankier than ever thanks to the revisit of the movement animation update, lowering the QoL for killers. DS finally got nerfed, finally. Finally. Not it does the job it's supposed to and isn't really abusable. Trickster actually got nerfed out of the PTB. Starstruck got buffed.

Oh, and every map update nerfs Trapper some more.

thanks for the welcome, nice to see someone actually reads and doesnt just click off when they see long text!

as i said, my match results with my dad wont be the same as everyone elses, i understand that fact, thats why all my points are more focused on the experiences ive had.

killers in my opinion have very overpowered perks like noed, undying, devour, i understand a good surv team will ignore those and still be able to win but how does a perk like DS or sprint burst compare to a insta down perk, a perk where totems can be protected, a perk where all gen progress can be taken away in a few seconds?

and as for my last point i responded on a separate forum do what i think tunnelling is. if people hated that people had 60 seconds of it the devs could nerf it to be maybe 40 seconds or 35 instead of the 60, also if a killer is already coming back to the hook, you go to heal, and then hear the heart beat, thats still tunnelling, you go to work on a gen, heartbeat gets closer, killer only goes for you, still tunneling.

again thanks for commenting and being respectful!! i enjoy debating on this kind of stuff

i don't think surv is easier, killers can have perks like noed, bbq, ruin, devour and surv has nerfed ds, flashlights, sprint burst?? i just dont get it and dont understand it

    thanks for commenting btw!

All of the killer perks you mentioned are strong. They are also conditional in that you must hook a certain number of survivors or have full totems remaining. They also all have the facility to be be disabled permanently by cleansing totems.

Are any of the strongest survivor perks conditional?

Does the killer have the ability to disable or bypass them?

I'll leave my thoughts on tunneling to the other discussion for simplicity.

No problem dude, I hope you enjoy the forum. It's always good to have decent people to debate with 👍

Play with 3 people who slam gens, equip iron will and 3 second chance perks, and hold W while predropping pallets.

This is my norm. This tactic beats nearly every killer. I play at night at rank 1, which means "competitive teams" come out to play. The only time it gets sweatier is if I turn off crossplay, but the difference is marginal. And because I don't like playing Nurse, Blight or Spirit every game I tend to lose more half of them just by default.

All you have to do to be a good survivor is midlessly do gens with meta perks. If your team does the same, you're probably going to win. You don't need to know how to chase, you don't need to know how to juke every killer, you just need to do gens and rely on your W key.
