Timing blasts with the Doctor

Hello fellow killers/survivors,

I am fairly new to the game and I've found a love for playing with the doctor. My succes with his abilities though seems to be a bit hit and miss and I was hoping someone could help clarify / help me with this.

I have noticed you can cancel the survivor's ability to drop pallets when you time the blast correctly. Though I have found that this isn't consistent or at least doesn't feel consistent when playing on console. Sometimes survivors can still vault / pull pallets down while they're holding their heads screaming after getting hit with the blast. And sometimes survivors seem to be equally surprised with this as they then end up vaulting back into me as well sometimes (no complaints there).

I'm trying to git gud, but would like tips on when during a loop I should use the blast to make sure the survivors don't get to use pallets or vault. Should I always use the blast during a loop or should I just chase after survivors and actually eat the pallet instead?

Any tips (or links to helpful video's perhaps) would be really appreciated if possible!

They likely hit to button to vault/drop the pallet as or before they were hit with the static blast. Remember there's a detonation delay on it.

I more often get a good result when survivors DO drop a pallet though, providing it's a small loop.

Blast as they're going through, they drop the pallet, I move around to the other side, they try to vault the pallet they just dropped by they can't, and I manage to hit them before or as they finally get to vault. Obviously doesn't help much for large loops and god pallets but it's useful when available.

Timing blasts to prevent pallet drops seems to be harder than timing blasts to prevent vaults in general as well. This may be because survivors tend to drop pallets early against the Doctor, or there may be some activation/animation difference between pallets and vaults, I don't know.
