If a survivor DCes before a single hook or gen the other survivors should be able to DC
Give the killer like 2k bp in each category for each survivor that DCes after the first one. Like someone DCed the second they loaded in and now I got deal with an iri head ruin undying huntress. I just DCed but now have to wait the penalty.

Or you could just run to the killer and get yourself killed and avoid the penalty.

I dont want to give the iri head huntress the satisfaction

I gett that, but you need to think big picture.
Since there is no way to tell why a dc occurred, there is no tracking of dc rate by the devs, which means all you are doing is punishing yourself.
What the devs do look at is kill rate which is a major reason why there is a Freddy rework in the works. I can attest to the fact that his kill rate is inflated because of hook suicide, im not a particularly good killer, and ive had far more of those playing him than any other killer even spirit or when i play a really scummy Bubba.
TLDR, intentionally dcing punishes yourself, while inflating kill rate can facilitate change.

Do the devs even track DC rate cause I am sure SWFs DCing for hatch and things throw that way out of proportion

I don't think I'm a fan of being able to DC without penalty, regardless of other DC's. As much as I think it really sucks if you start a game off on the wrong foot like that, in these cases the killer can't be blamed for the DC of the survivor but will not be rewarded as much if everyone else can just freely DC afterwards instead of finishing the game. They may have used offerings and add-ons that will be lost and spent a lot of time probably waiting for a game as well.
Perhaps instead of being able to freely DC, if you start a game where one person ends up DC'ed before anything has been done (no downs, hooks, etc), the game could lower the generator requirement by 1 to incentivise people to make the best of it anyways instead of incentivising people to drop out of the game as well.

Thats the point of the 2k per survivor that DCes via that way. While it might not be the same as you oculd have 24k bp still aint that bad

Also 4 gens in a 3v1 situation is impossible more or less. 3 gens in a 3v1 is normally considered that the killer already won.

NO

this would be so abusable

exactly because people will avoid stuff they dont like/dont feel like playing against and will rob other people of fun experience, the penalty must remain.
If you are not ready to face some of killers, perks, addons, builds or strats, don't play the game at all.

If a survivor DC's everyone should just get a safety pip and max BP (unless you're part of an SWF with a survivor who DC's). Same goes for if a killer DC's.

You may be right about the 4 gens in a 3v1 situation being really hard. As a new player, I am not the leading expert on what would be a balanced solution so perhaps a reduction of one gen still wouldn't fix much. All I know is that incentivising DC's is not a healthy way of adressing the problem, there should be motivations for people to continue and finish the game instead.

I am sorry but if you are facecamping with iri head in a 3v1 I aint giving you the satisfaction of getting another kill. I agree its BS to DC against killers by themselves and even iri head I dont DC I just take the L but if you arre really gonna facecamp with it in a 3v1 what are you doing with your life.

How do people normally disconnect? Do they yank the Ethernet chord out of the wall or do they alt+f4 or hit escape and leave match? Both ways are easily discernible on network packets and any logging that is in place. They know how someone disconnects. I don’t think saying they don’t know how someone disconnected is true.

TBH I cannot see a valid way to make it that way. You are almost guaranteed not to pip, you will get next to no BP I would rather just get out of the game asap and find a new one.

So someone playing a less popular killer unrelated to their skill and so on with the it (for sample atm spirit/freddy) will get no games anymore at some point, great! /s

I mean the original survivor that DCes still gets the penalty even raise it if you like its just for the people that dont want to bother wasting their time in a 5 gen 3v1.

I agree that they should be able to DC without a penalty if someone else DCed. It should also not count against their pips or rank. Same with the Killer. On top of that, DCing should no longer count as a Kill for stat tracking. It should be it's own category. That way, the devs can see which Killers cause DC, which maps cause DCs, which items cause DC, etc. Basically, use it as a way to assess what people are willing to play through, and what they aren't. It would also serve not to skew other stats on Killers, such as kill rate.
I don't believe in feeding a Killer hooks if someone DCs, because that unfairly inflates their kill metrics. That Killer could be low tier and in need of a buff, but boring so people DC. It would make them look stronger than they are, which would tell the devs that prefer big data that the Killer is, in fact, fine. In the case of Freddy, it would tell the devs that Survivors don't like going against him, and that his kill metrics are likely not that much higher than average. So he's annoying, but not super powerful. That would allow them to focus more on making him more fun than simply nerfing him.

I am playing the game in one of ways it is allowed to be played, while you're being petty.

Give me full hooks (bbq stacks) plus max categories and you can end the match whenever you feel like it :D
1 -
I am playing in another way too. By not playing the game and finding a different match to play.

hence why you get an intended penalty

I don’t see a problem with not letting them have games.

Right. Life hands you lemons - throw that ######### away

Yeah, that would be great for queue times, let's help cheaters be #########, ######### all of us that play the game correctly.

Cool so swf shouldn't get games either since most killer don't like to start either.

They cant tell the difference between yanking the ethernet cord and an isp issue, nor can they tell an alt f4 from a random crash. They also cant tell either from a straight power outage/flicker. The leave match button could be tracked but not the reason for hitting it, is it a rage quit, or did they get a phone call, or have to go to the hospital, or shut off their system and pretend to be asleep because their drunk parent came home and dont want to get beaten.
The point is there is no reason to track dc's because they arent always intentional so it isnt useful data

I only get slugged when attemtping this.
"Then just go AFK and do something else for 4 mins..."
I only get picked up, dropped, picked up dropped, picked up, wiggled free when attemtping this.
"Then just do gens..."
I only get slugged when attempting this.
"Then just go AFK and do something el--

Actually if you just stay afk after the forced pick up and drops from the killer youll get crows and they will kill you usually

How do you know they can't tell what if someone disconnects via keyboard commands? I believe it does matter. It affects everyone in the match negatively.

Creating a toxic and care-free game environment, love it!

If they were able to tell the difference between an intentional and unintentional dc, intentional dcs would be punished more severely. Therefore since the data they would be tracking by tracking dcs would be inherently flawed there is little value in tracking it.
