And also yeah, ghostface isn't licensed, only the mask is. Ghostface isnt owned by scream, its owned by the people who created the mask, meaning technically ghostface in dbd is an original killer

Isn't wraith from like, 2006? Theres a calendar in gas heaven that says the date. 2006 isn't too far from 2021.

I think you forgot that they can go from a killer from 2000's ce to 2000's bce if the devs really wanted. Like others have said, Ghost Face is also pretty recent. The costume was created in the 1990s and then became popular once Scream was a thing a few years later (also still 1990s). At earliest that would mean Ghost Face is from 1990. Which is still pretty recent. Then they went 1970s (I think that's when Stranger Things was?) with Demo and then all the way back to Ancient Japan with Oni. Which, I'm not sure about you, but that wasn't 1970s. The devs aren't going by a specific timeline like oh next chapter we're doing a futuristic killer from the year 3080. That's not going to happen, it's possible, but probably not.
Edit: I looked it up because in his lore they mentioned Oni was a samurai so I looked up when the age of samurai was in Japan and it says 1185-1868. So Oni MAY be from the 1800s but I feel like he's older than that.

Oni is from the 1800s because it was when samurais were ending and the feudal age if Japan was ending as well, so that's why he went on a killing spree killing fake samurais and he didnt want the samurai to end

Out of every killer he seemed thrilled to be chasing a survivor. He literally is chuckling and humming whenever he done hooking someone. I do agree on him being weak tho.

My guy, I don't think you have any idea what you're talking about. You're confusing everyone here and it seems like you're on a completely different topic than the rest of the discussion. Your post mentions the timeline of the killers. Are you talking about the lore timeline, physical timeline? Because your comments don't match your post. How does balancing have anything to do with the lore or in-game timeline? And if you're talking about the physical timeline for balancing purposes, why mention the lore at all?

There isnt much history to use with bts killers, and modern history like 2000 to now is not big, this is why it was made too early and the killer came out undone.

The balance and design of a killer has absolutely nothing to do with their lore. Killers from recent times can still have unique abilities. The Trickster was just a poorly designed killer, with a difficult to balance power. A killer's balance is independent of their history. You don't need to have a good backstory to have a good balance.

I really don't understand this Trickster is ranged, Huntress is ranged... therefore they are the same argument.
So Deathslinger, Huntress, Plague, Clown, and PH are the same killer to? Ranged abilities!
Bubba and Billy are obviously the same. Chainsaw abilities!
Oni, Spirit, Billy, and Blight are all the same. Sonic abilities!
Wraith and Spirit are the same. Invisibility abilities!
Trapper, Freddy, and Hag are the same. Trap abilities!
Hag, Freddy, and Nurse are the same. Teleportation abilities!
Clown and PH are the same! Area denial abilities!
Trickster is a incredible addition, he just needs buffed.

Spirit can phase, billy can instadown, bloght has more dexterity . DIFF-ER-ENT.

That makes no sense. New killers have a larger range of weapons and abilities to choose from. An ancient killer wouldn't be able to benefit from an AK-47 like Slinger does (Not ironic I mean it).

Trickster throws little blades at survivors . Huntress throws big hatchets.
Trickster can damage the survivors by throwing 8. Huntress can by throwing 1.
They both have the same range, and trickster is weaker.

Trickster is rapid fire, takes more hits, more ammo, less accuracy, and has a special ability (main event) that charges.

Trickster misses most of his shots, he has a hard time, autofire only makes it harder to aim, faster autofire is even worse, and knives have little effficeincy that makes the high number worthles. You kniw what? Hust go look at my trickster buff.

The point didnt go over my head. Each power ouputs the same affect, but trockster does it slower. Therefore, trickster os weaker. They play the same mostly as well.

That reply wasn't even to you. It was to the person who said Cannibal and Billy are the same. They were talking about from a design stand point (some mentally handicapped chainsaw wielding beast of a man) while I was discussing game play stand point.

Since you love short answers, he was not poorly designed because they did not have much to work with. He was poorly designed because he was poorly designed. Him being a weaker version of huntress has nothing to do with lore, and his weak power has everything to do with their inept sense of balancing.
