Thoughts on crosshairs.
Title sums it up. What do you think about huntress, slinger, trickster and even plague to a degree using crosshairs. I personally dont mind it at all as I think they are just something that should be in the game.

I only use a crosshair for Huntress because it makes it really easy to cross-map with her. I don't think there's a significant benefit otherwise. I sometimes use one on Deathslinger depending on how I'm feeling but it doesn't help much, I can quickscope just fine without it. It's just something that feels nice to use whenever I'm playing those two killers.

I do wish this is something they would add for some killers. It would make them a lot of accessible for console players for sure.
15 -
Honestly, I wish this was a base option in the game menu for people that aren't FPS gamers. It's so silly that there's an entire set of killers that half the playerbase has a significantly harder time using because they don't have this inherent knowledge of the exact centre of their screen.
22 -
Don’t see why not to have them as a base option. People who are proficient with these killers already don’t need them anyway
2 -
Would honestly help with survivour sometimes as your screen can be full of vomit, shock or gas.

Hell or just for revealing ghostface
7 -
You would need a sniper scope for that.
7 -
Yes please, crosshairs are long overdue on console. It’s a bit ridiculous we don’t have them yet considering PC players can enable crosshairs via their monitor.
6 -
You need an acog
3 -
Acog would only be enough if you combine it with laser pointer.

poor jaeger he will never be able to counter GF

I don't really care honestly: A bad Huntress with crosshairs still won't be better than a good Huntress without one.
Whether i think it should be a thing or not doesn't matter much, since it can't be banned.
My monitor has a function to add one, idk how BHVR is going to ban my monitor from applying one.
3 -
I don't use them, don't really care if people do.
It's something where the only possible ways to go about it is to either just accept it's a thing, or add something similar to the game itself. Because good luck stopping people from using something that comes included as an overlay with many monitors. Like, firmware level that just gets plopped on top of whatever output from the PC/console the game is running on sends to the monitor.

It should be added as a function in-game. On PC, a crosshair is helpful but not really necessary, given the precision control allowed by KB+M, but it's easy to add a crosshair on PC.
Meanwhile, on console, we actually need a crosshair because the controls are much more difficult on a controller, yet we don't have a way to add a crosshair.
The reason we don't have an in-game crosshair is along the lines of "it doesn't fit with the aesthetics," but gameplay is way more important, and on console we're just getting screwed every which way.

Can we get crosshairs for flashlights too. Its a lot easier to hit shots in fppov than 3rd.

New hud though lmfao

It's still missing a totem counter for solo-q
3 -
uuuugh, I try not to think about that monstrosity... I hate the new HUD so much. -_- Despite having played with it for many, many hours, it is still not as quick and easy to read as the old HUD.
I apologize to any survivors who I failed to notice were injured or hooked, but those icons are no longer in my peripheral view, so, um, yeah. I can't stay on top of what's going on the way I used to be able to. It's not my fault this game isn't designed for console players.

They should let us modify the HUD like we want, after all it doesn't give us any advantage. But to say that you don't notice survivor's health state? I play on an ultra wide 34inch and I don't have to move my eyes from the middle of the screen to see there is 1 or more injured survivor.

The devs do have a crosshair built into the game already. When you are intoxicated by Clown's pink bottles it shows up.
1 -
I dunno, on my 45-inch widescreen I can't read the icons along the side of the screen from my peripheral vision. I have to move my eyes to actually look at them, taking my eyes away from whatever I'm actually doing, and the vertical positioning means it takes longer to read them than when they were horizontal. When they were along the bottom, I didn't have to move my eyes to see when someone got injured or downed, it was immediately apparent without distracting me.

Crosshairs shouldn't be allowed for Range Killers. It's already annoying to go against with Gunslinger. Don't need a Huntress who can get easy hits.
0 -
Then the devs should at least add a practice mode. I'm sure survivors are tired of loading in just so they can do gens while I practice my Huntress by throwing hatchets at trees all match.
3 -
Bottom of the haft of the hatchet is where the hatchet will go and to the middle of the screen. There's how to aim your hatchet. You're welcome.

is it bannable tho. i wanna try it out with slinger. also can you suggest me any program for that
0 -
... o_0 It's not just about where the hatchet will go. It's about aiming with the thumbstick (which is always awkward, it doesn't matter what the sensitivity is set at) while moving. I try moving around as Huntress while keeping the tree in the center of my screen and throwing the hatchet at the right time, and... well, I can't do it consistently with an inanimate object as my target.
Trickster with his recoil has been an absolute misery.

Seems like you're playing on a 45ince at arm length which is wasteful as the side of the screen will be outside of your vision.
The new HUD give more info and I find it cleaner but like I said it would be nice if they let us customize it.

The more options, the better.
1 -
A dev in a stream I don’t remember said it’s not but “you are going to hell” for using one. Most of the big huntress streamers have said they use one.
0 -
some monitors have ones but I personally rarely play huntress so I dont know an actual software for it.
0 -
I came from PS4. I never had much of an issue with Huntress.
0 -
well, i will have company if i decide to use one. see you in hell whenever i use it haha

I like the new info, I just wish the survivor icons were horizontal like they used to be. I also don't like that the survivor names poke out from the side instead of being along the bottom like they used to be.
You're not totally wrong about the distance, it's a big TV in a small room. The crazy thing is I've seen other people sit closer than I do while playing video games, and I really don't know they do that. Do they just completely ignore the sides of the screen? What is up with that?
(I've tried using that PlayStation feature to play via my laptop, but even though I'm sitting only a few feet away from the console it goes through the PlayStation servers before being transmitted to my screen, and that lag is noticeable.)
I envy you. I cannot get better at ranged killers on PS4. I dunno what it is. I know it's at least partially me, I'm pretty bad whenever I first pick up a shooter game, but I always manage to improve in those as I keep playing. In DbD, though, I see little if any improvement. There's something about the controls that I'm not adapting to, and I don't know what it is or why.

Heck yeah reveal his bugged ass
0 -
Adding a crosshair would be a nice change imo. Good Huntresses already can play without it, but it would be helpful for new players.
1 -
Unless it's there for everyone to use, it's cheating. Doesn't matter what it is or who it's on. If it's not in the game's system (which is where crosshairs fit in) or if it's an unintended bug that only one system can really use, it's cheating.
That said, I wouldn't be against adding crosshairs as an option with the HUD.
1 -
Filters can only be used on PC but the devs added support for it.
