If Survivor and Killer Work Together Both Needs to be punished
Just had a match with a Ghostface and a Nea. I got hooked and watched as the Nea got hit once, then she pointed across the map towards two other survivors working on gen. The Ghostface left her and went to down the others. I got off hook and tried to get the Ghostface to down her for being a rat. He didn’t. Just downed everyone else. I died on second hook on purpose after that. I reported them both but it’s not going to do anything. Traitor survivors are rare but when it happens oh boy is it the worse experience imaginable.

Wow Survivors are now evolving, from looping skills to bargain techs 😂🤣

It makes for a toxic match all around. Usually Killer hates rats and traitors and will kill them for trying to betray their team. This Ghostface wasn’t one of them sadly.

If survivors give me the kills I'm going to let the ones that tried go if I get reported so be it.
2 -
You can get banned for it. It’s under the Griefing tab

We were playing with my friends againts a Nurse. We have 3 friends with no comms and one random Cherly and she got the nurse outfit. After only 2 person left one of them was Cherly bargain with the killer due to her nurse outfit and point the other survivor. To be honest it was toxic but I never laughed so hard when I was watching it. I know it is bad but at that time it was hilarious.
Anyway jokes beside it is unsportsmanlike so that person should be reported. It is no fun when you try to play your game normally and somebody just point you out. For the killer well he can punish that person but at the end damage was done and she gave your location. I hope you guys reported her.

I've defended both sides for things that others see as cheap but I ######### ABHOR killers and survivors working together. It's a cheat, it's an exploit, it's trolling, it's holding the game hostage, it's creating an entirely unfair environment for the people not on the "in", it's 100 percent abuse of the game and the developers obviously never intended for anyone to do it.
Anyone who feels the need to work in collusion with the enemy to sabotage the game for everyone else is a straight-up #########.

I dislike all Survivors equally so someone throwing the game will be seen as the weak link and handled as per usual.

My favorite instance of collusion (as in, the only one that I came away enjoying) was when Ghostface and Feng were running around together, something I only noticed because I happened to see them pass me by in a locker. I groaned, irritated that they could do this scott-free yet I myself would be punished if I bailed on the game to screw THEM over.
So I thought of a plan. I would evade them as long as possible, not contributing to the match. Everyone else died quickly, because they didn't know they were being worked. I managed to avoid the sabotage team for at least five minutes before they found me. Killer gets me down, Feng teabags, yada yada, I get it, when you have a small penis you do things like this to feel better about yourself. But after Ghostface hooked me and Feng (standing right next to him) got me down, I figured I'd turn the tables. Once down I started spinning and doing the stupid teabag motion myself. "Haha guys, what you're doing is funny and I don't mind it at all!" Within a few seconds they started imitating the behavior. Just a couple of idiots thinking that I was like them, another fan of abusing the game and ruining the experience for everyone else. I nodded my head up and down, I ran back and forth like a morn. We were a trio of happy troll idiots. I ran off a little distance, allowing them to catch up. I ran in the opposite direction a small way, allowing them to catch up. How funny we all are. I am now accepted. I'm one of them, gooble gobble.
Then I bolted to the exit, unlocked it, and in a desperate scramble Ghostface caught up and stabbed me but I was able to slip out at the last second right in front of him. Reported them both. ######### you.

I might have gotten the same Ghostface then.

I honestly wondered that when I saw your comment. It's not an impossibility.
My philosophy is to report anyone I see doing this (only when it's obvious, I don't just report every player who acts strangely). I hate the survivor who does it more, but because I have crossplay on I'm pretty sure that a survivor and killer are chatting on a console and agreeing to work together. Regardless of how or why or who's worse, I always report both killer and survivor. Always. There is no greater example of betraying the entire purpose of the game than for the two sides to form an alliance, and if the killer is lame enough to prefer easy kills to fun and competitive gameplay then I hold him just as accountable as his crony.
I don't know if the reports matter, or if there have to be a certain number of them within a certain period of time, I don't know any of that. All I know is that I'm quite happy to be a "rat" (which, ironically, has nothing to do with my user name). I record every match that I play and keep the ones that are interesting, or contain stuff just like this. And when I see a teamup I do everything I can to make it known to them that I see what they're doing, and to let others know about it.
Hell, I'd say that we should have a "thread of shame" to post the names of people who do this, but that would obviously just be abused.

Tbh I had matches where I worked with a survivor to find the hatch gremlin. I shouldn't be punished for that.

Pretty sure you can't.
You can only be banned if it is premeditated. Like, a Survivor messages you pre-game to say they'll throw if you let them go.
Selling out your teammates is a dick move, but I'm pretty sure it's legal.
If not, rip to all the people who have ever farmed before.

I don't care if a killer and survivor work together at the end of the game for a mercy / respect ending. It's the two working together at the expense of the other players that's bullshit and shouldn't be considered acceptable.

No that’s not how that works.

One time I was in a match where the entire team including myself worked really hard to get to 1 gen because the killer would constantly come back. I'm pretty sure I cleansed all totems as well as had some long chases. I knew I was going to 2-pip and felt proud that match.
..that was until the Laurie randomly decided to hook up with the killer, lead him to every single one of us and end the game in his favor. Are you kidding me? There was one gen left, you were that impatient?
Selling out your teammates is definitely a d*ck move which can be seen above, although I will say when it comes to actually farming with the entire team instead of just one person, it's different. If someone brought BPS and everyone decided to party with the killer, they shouldn't get banned for that.

Edited my comment. I forgot to add the gremlin behind the hatch. Finding that survivor that is just camping the hatch or sandbagging the whole team is totally fine.
0 -
I’m not saying if everyone wants to farm and agrees to it that they should be punished. However if one or two people team up with the Killer just to ruin the others then that’s a different story.

Why are survivor emotes even visible to the killer?
0 -
I'm all for the killer finding and punishing a survivor who's just camping the hatch or sandbagging the match, I just think that he or she should do it alone and not work with another survivor to do it. At that point it's more on the assisting survivor though. Speaking for myself, I wouldn't report an instance of collusion if I knew that I myself was also in the wrong. Then it's just hypocrisy.
Though now that you mention it I'd be interested to hear what other people think about survivor hatch camping, since hook and door camping is considered a viable strategy (which I agree with).

Show me where you can be banned for farming your teammates.

This is called Killer Whispering.
It's never guaranteed to work, in fact it fails most of the time, but sometimes a killer will take pity on a survivor who exposes themselves for some animation gesturing. Like 'boop the snoot' and such.
When it's at the expense of another survivor, like pointing to an occupied locker, more often than not the killer will go after the one who pointed instead.

When reporting someone after a game one of the options under trolling, I believe, lists "killers working with survivors" as a reportable offense.
Bannable? Don't know. Doubt that anyone gets banned for anything.
0 -
It also lists DC'ing as a reportable offense.
We've been subsequently told that we shouldn't do that anymore.
I've seen Mods and Devs talk about how they either like/dislike farming. Never seen anyone say its against the rules.
That means that working together must mean premeditated collusion.
0 -
So why is killers supposed to be punished in this scenario?
1 -
Indeed. They didn't ask for the info, but now they have it, what else are they supposed to do with it?
I'd down the survivor who pointed it out, and then go after those they pointed at as well.
1 -
Killers and survivors working together completely defies the entire purpose of a game that was created with the fundamental concept of killers and survivors playing against each other. I'm not really sure where the devs stand on such a thing but my guess is that they wouldn't approve.
0 -
Again, they've never said anything against farming.
Until they say, "Hey, farming (working with the Killer for max BP) is bannable" we will not know
0 -
I never said it was bannable. You asked how someone could be banned for collusion and I explained that it's specifically listed among the reasons to report someone, thus implying that a person can in fact be banned for it. But I can't verify it one way or the other. I don't know who gets banned or why.

If the Killer agrees to team up with the survivor to ruin everyone else then yes they should be in trouble. It’s one thing if they down the traitor survivor but then proceed to go after the others, it’s another thing when the killer follows the traitor survivor around the whole time getting the rest of the survivors.
0 -
Why?
Is that not in his best interest?
Do we report Survivors for the Killer letting them go or giving them Hatch?
1 -
So what do you report them for?
0 -
Farming teammates is not banable, that is not working with the killer, working with the killer is something like survivor 1 goes out of their way to find survivor 2 and make noises or something to make sure survivor 2 dies.
0 -
If someone is playing an honest game and tries to confuse the killer by running past another survivor or whatever, that's one thing. Deliberately working against your own team, such as by getting the killer's attention and deliberately leading him to fellow teammates - is antithesis to the purpose of the game. I think it's fair to assume that the survivor game is not meant to be one of deliberate and consistent sabotage.
0 -
Yes exactly but why should the killer be punished for that? That is not the killer's fault that is the survivor's fault
0 -
I agree, I said earlier that if the survivor is the one instigating things like this then it's more on the survivor than the killer. That said, if the killer has the traitor survivor within attackable range and doesn't act on it, then he's clearly giving favor to that player in exchange for the player's assistance. At that point the two are working together.
If I use an aura perk and deliberately run the killer to each victim so they get killed first, for whatever reason I may have, I'm working with the killer and deserve the blame. If the killer gives me a pass and doesn't take advantage of the chance to go after me as well, then he deserves just as much of the blame.
Someone said earlier that running to a locker and pointing to it for the killer to know that someone's inside usually results in the pointer being killed, not the person in the locker (not at all in my experience, but I digress). If that happens, the pointer should be reported. If the killer allows the pointer to stand aside so he can open the locker and get the kill, then both should be reported.
0 -
Is that a common thing in the game?
0 -
Maybe if X amount of times a player has been reported, let's say 10 times that player has been reported there should be a penalty maybe a day or so of not playing.
BUT the problem lies in the community if they do something like that, imagine a 4 man reporting for griefing like that, that is 6 times you have left but the killer never worked with any survivors.
Sadly BHVR can't even tell the difference between the game crashing and an actual DC, this punishment would be a mess for either side.
And yeah, I also kill snitches instead of the other survivor that was hiding, I dislike snitches, they make the game unfun.

If im playing and i never see you doing gens, making saves, or healing and the only thing you're doing is crouching around without being hooked im gonna rat you out and you deserve it.
0 -
I had done a gen on my own. And looped the killer for awhile. The Nea was just hiding nearby. She gets hit once and immediately rats out her team working on the other side of the map on a gen. She lead the killer to them. She was the only one not doing anything but being a rat.
0 -
Don't know if they deserve it or not, I can see both sides of that one, but I will say that I don't know why someone would be paying that much attention to another survivor in the first place. I also don't get the logic of making things harder for your own team. They may not be contributing anything if you don't see them doing so, but you're guaranteeing that they won't be if you take it upon yourself to remove them from the game.
0 -
If you arent helping the team escape you're making things harder for the team. If everybody is on death hook except for you and you didn't help us get gens done why should you live? There's been plenty of times where I've seen a meg walking the entire map, to save sprint burst, not touching a gen when she has more than enough time to at least try and you're saying she deserves to get away?
0 -
I don't see it as a binary situation. If a player is being patient, sneaking, and taking their time that should be up to them. I also learned pretty quickly that running out to save everyone who gets hooked means pretty much guaranteed death since everyone face camps. There are also some players who are so new they're still trying to have a chance to figure out map layouts and get a feel for the gameplay.
And I don't see it as making things harder for the team, I see it as not making things easier for the team. They may not be adding, but it's not like they're taking. If anything they're another target that the killer could possibly spot and engage in a chase, taking the pressure off the rest of the crew. Getting a player eliminated from the game seems like a counterproductive way to punish them from not being more active in the game.
Do they deserve to get away? If they're good enough to elude the killer the whole time I don't see why not, it's not like they'll get many points if they didn't do anything anyway. And you never know, maybe the person is waiting to come in at the clutch when it's time to open the doors or distract the killer during the endgame? Maybe not, but it's possible.
I get your point, I would be annoyed seeing someone just wandering around not helping too. I sometimes see people literally just standing there as if they fell asleep during the loading screen, that's not fun either. I just think that deciding for yourself whether a player is too inactive, and then going out of your way to get them killed for it, doesn't really seem like anything that benefits you or the other players in any way other than providing some sense of justice or something.

Random quandary: when someone is hiding in a locker hoping for to you die so they can grab hatch, can pointing them out to the killer even be sandbagging your own team?
Just some "'grandfather's axe" and "tree falling alone in the woods" level ######### right here.
