6 Hour Penalty
Okay, so to start this story I was trying to get bloodpoints with Doctor since I heard he's good at getting bloodpoints. It was my first game playing as him and I injured this Felix, he was camping at a pallet but with a quick swing I managed to down him, I was in the middle of the animation of picking him up when my game froze for about 20 seconds. I was kicked out of Dead by Daylight and after a few minutes I managed to launch it again, I got into the lobby and saw that I couldn't play for 6 HOURS! (I recently DCed a few times due to my teammates doing nothing, and when I mean nothing I mean there was one AFK Claud, one Meg hiding in a locker, one standing looking at the killer, and one AFK)
I didn't even intentionally DC and I can't play for 6 hours, that's until 12 o' clock tonight, this is really stupid and just annoys me, I also lost my rank. So good job BHVR.....Good job

Don't DC then.
Suicide on the hook if everyone was AFK. If the killer was AFK too then you should of just did the gens and left.

Yeah, it's six hours cause it stacks.
if everyone else is afk go round doing totems. it's a sucky experience, but better than 6 hours

Moral of the story is don't dc so if issues like these happen you only have to wait 5 mins.

Don't DC for any reason short of an emergency and you won't have this issue. If you DC in too short a time period they stack up with ever increasing punishment times. Take this experience as an educational moment. If you start a game, finish it.

DC penalties stack, so the fact that you have DC'd previously from games is why you have such a long penalty now.
We initially start with short time frames so that if you do get a game crash etc, then you will only be hit with a 5 minute penalty and normally by the time you've shut down PC, restarted PC and the game, the penalty is almost finished.

Yes but the other times I had to DC to do something around my house

I had to DC on the other times because I had to do stuff around my house, I was having a really bad day that day so that's why I DCed

Pro tip: don't purposefully DC so when something legitimate does happen, like a game crash, you won't have to deal with an extended penalty.

Then don't play. I don't care about your personal life or the day to day problems you encounter. If you don't think you can finish a game, you shouldn't be starting it. Every time you quit you are upending the match for four other people. It is rude and selfish. If you have things to do around the house, finish them first. Then come play. Be a grown up.

Basically what Kirky said though. You can't expect to DC multiple times for whatever reason and then be a surprised pikachu when you actually disconnect involuntarily and get hit by the longer penalty.

I didn't even know that I had to do stuff around the house before, yeesh.

I work shift and sometimes I get called to do extra time, when that happens I disconect, say sorry on postchat and go work, even with a volatile work schedule Ive never got a penalty higher than minutes. I believe penalties lower a step every 24 hours you dont DC if you got 6 hours you had way too many DCs without cooling down during that time frame.
The last one may be unfair but were the rest?.
