Open Handed Buff Idea

Open Handed has the effect, that its increases your aura reading ability by 8 meters.

This perk could be so much better. Just let it increases more perks and not just the aura reading ability.
Let it infect perks like Leader (16 Meters instead of 8), Boil Over (22 instead of 14), Prove Thyself, etc.
Plus maybe increase the range, but that would be so much better and I would love to run and combine that perk.

    Not really. The perk is just fine, if you can effect more perks with it. Just then it is not a waste.

    The perk is powerful if a swf team has 4 of them and all running something like bond or kindred (idk if Kindred works with it since you could see the killers aura from 40 meters away) but since you are already playing in swf there is not point in wasting a perk slot for it since you are already communicating with your team at all times.

    Yup my comment was sarcasm as I don't find it great and if someone else is using it I still barely notice the difference. When I play survivor its 90% of the time solo and Bond is good enough.

    I'd support this. Would give us a few new builds to work with and maybe make some other perks more viable when combined with it.

    It actually works apperantly.
    Also this is the "weird spot" perk. If multiple people use it you can have amazing effects. If 1 person uses it it's meh. Also a list of affected perks:
    Bond, Empathy (not tier 3), Kindred (only 2 will work), Plunderer's, OoO, Wake Up! (not tier 3), Detective's, WoO, Keys and a soft counter for Knock Out (that is from wiki :3)

    Open Handed does work on Kindred tho. It’s just that there’s a max range

    I understand that open handed has some "okay" uses especially if you use that perk more than once in a trial, but you can just use it (T3 Perks!) with Bond, Kindred (didnt know that it has a max range) and OoO.
    Why would you ever use it with Plunderer's or with Detective's? Yea, its pretty nice counter against K.O. thats true.
    But I feel like Open Handed could be so much more. but its too limited. Giving this perk a +8 Meters range for everyperk would be so damn awesome and not even too strong.
    Giving Leader +8 x 4 (+8) = 40 is so damn nice without beeing OP. Thats the kind of perk that I would love to play with, cause I can support my team better and have better synergie with some perks.
    And if that would be too strong then nerf it to +6 meters, I dont care. But this effect would be so much greater.

    That kind of buff would no one hurt imo.

    Why would SWF need this? They already have bond and kindred without using the perk. Also kindred only reveals the killer if they're near the hook within 8 meters which if it somehow did affect it it would be 32 meters from the hook which honestly is still relatively close enough for camping (it's essentially minimum for hook/unhooking perks like DH, MYC, and the range you'd see someone with BnC when you hooked someone).

    Open handed works with Kindred, i've been running this build for a long time, i know it works. It's also a solid build when playing solo or with one more friend.

    I mean you have to be outright bad bad bad if you're SWF and you don't have Kindred, Bond, Alert, Empathy, Map with Crystal Bead, and Wake Up without equipping any of them simply by the grace of being on coms. Oh and the ability to negate knock out.

    According the the wiki there are currently 10 things in the game that it affects. Actually 8 as both Empathy and Wake Up! already have unlimited range.

    Personally, I think that both Open-Handed and Plunder's Instinct should be reworked, at least slightly, so that they work better together. Plunderer's Instinct could give a small range aura reading on dropped items so it gets increase by a lot when you have Open-Handed.

    The thing is Open-Handed stacks so there is a limit to how good it can be. There is also the irony that if it is good enough it would be a better team perk than Leader. Maybe reduce the base value slightly and increase its effect for yourself like
    2 / 4 / 6 m for others and 6 / 8 / 10 m for yourself.

    In the end it does take a perk slot to use so it should be worth something but it currently does not affect enough perks to be worth it.
