Recoil sucks ass
I know this has been talked about already but I had to bring this up cause holy ######### it’s bad.
After I got my adept Trickster achievement I was trying his ultra rare addon and it’s when I noticed how awful recoil is on console at the end of the game I activated main event and I stood completely still and when the knifes were being thrown my camera was going up and my joystick was not broken whenever he throws a knife his camera goes up it’s so stupid
just to test I played as huntress and Slinger and it was great I had no recoil on hatchets and gun. So why is it this killer has such ######### recoil so bad but huntress doesn’t have it?

I don't get it either. The recoil is absolutely ridiculous and makes him unplayable. This is Dead By Daylight, not CoD where simply not aiming down sights makes you misfire like 20 feet off from where you were aiming and miss the guy who's standing right in front of you. It's not necessary. It feels like I've got joystick drift. Why would you punish a killer this hard for using his ability?!

I would guess that upon testing they found that landing 8 hits was quite easy with no recoil at all. The idea is clearly to force you to avoid firing your power rapidly at long range, since recoil affects your shots the more distance you build with your target. Which is fine, even with no recoil you'd probably miss most of the shots, even if you land two, the survivor can just get behind a structure and run; you can see how it goes by firing slowly.
That being said, it still doesn't feel right considering it doesn't actually change anything. If you consider Deathslinger as the previous range killer, his spear may be precise but its range is limited. Maybe the idea for Trickster was to limit his ideal range of action while still leaving him the possibility to fire from afar. I don't think Recoil should make you miss your target if it's close enough.
The only part where I don't understand why recoil would be there is Main Event with its limited uses (as it is currently in the game)

That doesn’t make sense though because like you said deathslinger is in the game why would they add recoil to make him more balanced when slinger can aim and down people in under 5 seconds

Because unlike Deathslinger, Trickster can aim from afar. I didn't say it was a great idea, I just tried to guess Why it was there.

I don't know if you play on console or with a controller, but his recoil on console is God awful. I watched the PTB videos and the recoil wasn't the biggest complaint they had, but now I know why bcuz aiming with a controller is terrible compared to a mouse. Whoever added the recoil just flat out didn't play past 2 games max.

Oh console players definitely have my sympathy for all the range killers, even more with recoil on Trickster. I'm sure they didn't think about console players when they added recoil... I hope :o

I said I play on console I play on Xbox one and it’s surprising how bad his recoil is on console I saw footage of him on PC and there was no recoil it only happens on console

My bad I skim too much, I just hope it's reduce or removed with his upcoming buff.

The devs don't test things dude... get real

I mean someone had to try it to see if it was working, right ? I'm being real. You think they chose 8 hits with knives as a random number ? You think they'd bother making a Recoil mechanic while Huntress and Deathslinger had none for no reason ? Sure they don't test things enough to solve all the problems but they did some tests at some point.
Unfortunately the tests to build the killer are mostly done before it gets to PTB, and after PTB it seems most feedback isn't used to fix the issues before release but that's another story.
