If this was Blizzard, the pallet bug would be patched in a matter of hours.
Title.
It is ridiculous to me to even mention that such a GAME BREAKING bug is not top priority right now and hasn't been fixed yet.

It might get fixed in the next hotfix patch. Maybe...

It will get fixed in the new season. After they add a couple more Meg dresses and a Claudette wig.

I mean I am sure it would be if they had an army of employees who are pretty much the best trained in their field in the world.
Unfortunately this is a game founded on spaghetti code and managed by bhvr, so short of remaking the game entirely, every change is gonna be slow as balls.
10 -
lol wait, people still respect Blizzard? really?
46 -
Ok let's see, where to start. You make millions by adding content with DLC's,skins, not to mention u have to buy the game in the first place.
Get better employees.Maybe harsh truth but this is how u run a business, and it happens that i own a business IRL.

The devs have said themselves they work whenever they want to. They are lazy and complacent when it comes to this game and will continue to be until they get some decent completion and realise they need to pull their finger out or run the risk of players moving over to a different game.
Until their money gets affected they won't care as much as they should because they know they don't have to.

Okay, look, I'm all for holding the Devs responsible for their lousy pace, but comparing them to Blizzard is like comparing a silver nugget to truck full of jewels and gold.
5 -
If this was Blizzard then the game wouldn't be fun for average players and/or would be extremely unbalanced for them. Atleast with BHVR the game is mostly balanced for the average player.
5 -
6 0 0 ... Six Hundred Employees has this company. 580 from them are for cosmetics i guess
12 -
Yep for some reason they still do
11 -
You mean for how efficient they are to fix stuff that are NOT WORKING AS INTENDED?
0 -
Haven't you learned from the twins update?
2 weeks of desync hits.
2 -
I’m not talking about that I’m talking about other issues Cough Hong Kong Cough
11 -
Should i remind you about Warcraft 3 Reforged?
3 -
It wouldn't be BHVR, if they would release a patch that does not introduce a bunch of new bugs.
1 -
In hours is not even close to reasonable for fixes to this game. Whenever a change involving the game files is needed, they have to send such changes to Sony and to Microsoft for approvals, which is like 5-7 days, since the devs insist on doing all platforms at once.
As we got no update this past Tuesday I'd speculate a fix will be out next Tuesday.
1 -
because blizzard has their own dedicated launcher.
bhvr has to go through sony, microsoft, steam, etc
5 -
You really dont know Blizzard to say that xD
3 -
No u and the other guy talked about a very generic "respect".Well,in the department of bug fixes and whatnot they are light years ahead.
My point is,BHVR owns one of the most played game in the market right now, they need to speed things up.

Pardon me,but i've played blizzard games for 20 years now.I think i really do know.

Look, IF you have to compare companies about these matters, use Digital Extremes, the people behind warframe.
300+ employees, better graphics, regular updates, good accessibility. They're canadian, too iirc.
The issue seems more that bhvr seems a little clueless about what to do with their own game as it grew too fast, too big. also they seem to be coding with blueprint or something, which hurts my heart, but would explain a lot of chaos.

They’ll speed up when someone comes to challenge them

Pardon me but I played Blizzard games since 20 years too and I know how bad they are to fix a bug ;)

Look at Warcraft remastered or overwatch's horrible balancing that actually makes behavior look good. You picked the worst company to compare bar maybe ea. Also in terms of bugs how do they compare to cyberpunks release or how about other game companies who servers keep going down so you cant even play the dang game. No behavior and game breaking issues is pretty low on the massive mess up departments when it compares to other companies. This pallet bug is an issue but its to be expected stop playing wait for it to be patched.

HSHS is in alpha and have no bugs. They give auric cell and skins.
... :)

At least they're not leaving it in the game forever, trying to pass it off as a feature, and giving us band-aid perks to deal with. Hopefully

600 employees for the business as a whole. Janitorial staff, catering staff, and staff that work on all the other projects BHVR develops. The DBD team is still relatively small, and DBD isn't the only project that BHVR work on, despite what you want to believe.

And then there's the categories for those working on the game. Still, I'd say that the coreissue is that they seem a bit overwhelmed with how remotely popular the game has gotten and seem to be at a loss as to where to go with it from here on.
Comparing it to blizzard is good if you want to point out what NOT to do:
I played wow up until the cataclysm beta, because I got fed up with how lore wasn't continued but butchered and retconned willynilly for the sake of yet another raid, another unfunny popculture ref or generally catering to obnoxious fankiddies.
And as much as I can ramble about dbd, i don't want something like that to happen to it.

It could be because BHVR is a couple hundred people while Blizzard is a couple thousand people

Why is the pallet bug gamebreaking? The pallet bug is only that killer cant be stunned, right? One killer hit me through the pallet, but this has nothing to do with the pallet bug, or?
2 -
I mean, blizzard really isn't the best example of developers to respect but I get your point.

If this was Blizzard, there'd probably be a lot more than just one character who was borderline deleted through "reworks".
2 -
Blizzard would have redesigned trickster and pushed out an update the next day after the huge backlash he received.
We're lucky if bhvr fixes blight hitboxes in 6 months...
2 -
If this was Blizzard there would be a ton of bots farming unhooks to complete rift challenges for people who paid some shady website real money.
6 -
If this were blizzard there would be loot boxes -.-
8 -
I guess that hits through pallets look even more stupid now that the killer doesn't even get stunned most of the time.
0 -
If this was Blizzard there would be a whole slew of different and potentially worse problems. Have you played WoW any time recently? Game used to be so much better up to Cataclysm(With the exception of Mists of Panderia).
1 -
BHVR is also big. 600 people actually, BHVR is no small indie company.
0 -
Not the best company to draw comparisons given their culture and what they've done.
1 -
Ya, super unenjoyable to play atm. I just turn it off after a couple matches - no more extended play. When will BHVR get it together?
1 -
If this was Blizzard, the bloodweb and battlepass grind would be increased tenfold, there would be timegating everywhere, and they would push DBD into some esport while neglecting bugs and balance changes even moreso than now.
1 -
If it was Ubisoft the pallet bug would be left for 3 years and then pallets would have been removed from the game and instead replaced with something else.

GAME BREAKING?!
LOL, no.

"If this was a 19 Billion Dollar company with over 4,700 employees, THE PALLET BUG WOULD BE PATCHED IN A MATTER OF HOURS"
Bite me :)
I am all for bashing BHVR's poor decisions, but this ain't it chief. Have some standards.

This isn't Blizzard. Blizzard is a subsidiary of a multi BILLION dollar corporation. BHVR is literally an indie studio.
Is that an excuse? No. If this were the PoE devs, who are SMALLER than BHVR, it would have been fixed before release.
1 -
Even if BHVR got the fix done the same day of the patch, they couldn't push out a patch til console verification succeeds due to crossplay which basically delays all patches by a week.
As much as the bug does suck being around, it not being fixed immediately is not completely BHVR's fault.

A fellow "small indie company" that still manages to fix simple bugs in a timely manner.

Blizzard will be either A: rush new contents and break balancing. or B: fix bugs (congrats OP) and nothing else.
