Why are we all playing Huntress?

Hello,

I'm a main killer who rarely plays Huntress due to my lack of aim (PS4 player).

However, today i'm playing some survivor games for the archives and I've literraly only played against huntresses (6 in a row and counting). Their ranks vary from a level 20 till level 2 and anything in between.

Whats up with that? Sheer dumb luck? She isn't that good in my opinion so kinda confused.

Are there some challenges I did not know about?

    Well we all aren't - 6 games out of the thousands that are ongoing is not indicative of "all."

    She is one of the starter killers so everybody has access to her

    She is one of the stronger killers, so everybody has an incentive to play her

    Her power looks fun (on paper at least, actual results may vary)

    But mostly I'd say luck, I see a lot of them but by no means most popular.

    1st "luck" in matchmaker

    but other than that huntress used to be quite popular/fun to play on PC

    also i know some ppl that came back to Huntress after playing Trickster "look im doing 8 times more dmg" haha

    I play Huntress cause she is the only killer that can injure survivors from across the whole map. Nothing is more fun then just throwing a high hatchet and 2-3 seconds later hearing the squish sound of someone getting injured

    Were are you from? From my experience, Huntress is played a lot on EU-Servers, many Russian players are playing her, most likely because she is a Russian Character. She is by far the Killer I encounter the most.

    Also, she is pretty fun to play.

    She's free, decently strong, people coming from fps games might find it easier to transition by playing with a ranged killer.

    Looks cute, has nice cosmetics, tall enough to have good sight, most perks work well with her.

    Unfair hitboxes that only get better (for the killer) when pings are bad. She can down fast when given the chance and can ignore pallets.

    Oke lets put some statistics on her.

    If we have 20 killers with a uniform distribution the chance is 0.05^6 = 0.0000002% to face her. Not very unlikely

    However some killers are played more often, so let's say 5 killers = 0.2^6= 0.006%. That is 6 out of million so a somewhat bigger chance.

    But finally Huntress is picked roughly 8.39% of the time due to statistics from a couple of months ago. That is 0.0839^6 = 0.000035% chance equal to a 3.5 out of 100mln. Maybe I should go to the casino......

    As far as I remeber, Huntress has highest pick rate between all killers. Like 10% or something. So it's more than luck. She is really fun to play on PC.

    Also after Trickster release most killers who tried him want to play some decent ranged killer for a change.

    I guess thats because you are on console, huntress is god tier on pc

    In my case it's a coincidence I guess. When I first looked at the base roster and figured I'd play the game a bit before getting any DLC she was the one I found most interesting. However I was kinda wary of starting off with her so played Wraith first, also I quickly enough started buying a lot of DLC so played a bunch of other killers before recently feeling confident enough to give her a try.

    I think it was a good idea on my part because my aim with her is pretty bad... it's good to have some killers I'm good at, it helps me keep morale up as I get easily run around trying to learn hatchets.

    Darn was about to say the exact same thing. People hankering for a good ranged killer. Huntress and deathslinger always stood out to me as fun killers to play and play against because as killer there always exerting a ranged pressure thats really daunting and both killers reward being evasive and creating distance.

    Nothing quite like juking mid range hatchets by swinging left the minute she makes that audio throw cue or forcing slinger to make predicitve shots because I keep putting distance between him and me.

    After the 7th game and win against another Huntress I finally got a different killer (doc) and lost....

    By the way i'm playing with cross-play enabled, so that all god tier is not something i recognize

    Because Trickster was a bastardized version of Huntress without any of her lethality.

    IF i see huntress at the moment, which isnt rare, she always uses iri heads, so i think it might be because people expect an iri nerf coming soon.
