Trickster Buffs Coming In Next Bugfix Patch
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/240987
Keep Up
- Increased movement speed while throwing knives from 3.68 -> 2.68m/s to 3.86 -> 3.68m/s
- Increased Main Event movement speed to 3.86m/s
- Decreased Killing Part Chords & Caged Heart Shoes effects respectively
To help The Trickster keep up during a chase, we’ve increased both his maximum and minimum movement speed while throwing knives. The speed penalty from throwing multiple knives is now significantly lower than before. This allows you to lose less ground while using your power and land more knives before losing sight of the Survivor.
Draw Faster
- Decreased wind up time (readying knives) from 0.5 seconds to 0.35 seconds
- Increased wind down grace period from 1 second to 1.25 seconds
To make his power feel more fluid, we’ve decreased the time it takes to ready his power. This will both feel better to use and give you a larger window to throw knives. As you’ll be able to keep up much better than before, the grace period before you can do a basic attack after cancelling your power has been increased slightly.
More Control
- Removed spread on thrown knives
- Greatly decreased recoil
Initially, The Trickster launched with both spread (random inaccuracy to each knife thrown) and recoil. As landing multiple hits on a sporadically moving Survivor can be a challenge on its own, we’ve removed spread and significantly decreased recoil. This will give you much more control and make your accuracy more dependent on your own skill.
Miscellaneous Changes
Finally, rounding off the list with some various but still notable changes:
- Increased the initial Laceration decay timer from 15 seconds to 20 seconds: This gives you a longer window to follow up with additional blades before the Laceration meter decreases
- Decreased post-Main Event cooldown from 10 seconds to 5 seconds
- Iridescent Photocard can now injure Survivors
All of the changes listed above are planned for the 4.6.1 Bugfix Patch. Thank you to everyone who left us constructive feedback. As we’ve done with other Killers, we’ll be monitoring The Trickster’s performance and making further updates if necessary in a later update.

Yay!
13 -
And when is that? I mean do we know a date?
0 -
Sweet, can't wait for this to drop.
I feel this will make him a lot more playable. Still not top tier but way more fluid.
Being more accurate and able to atleast somewhat keep up with survivors will help a ton
13 -
Devs listening? What?
28 -
My German ass understands around 30% and a translator is not helpful xD
1 -
Probably next week on Tuesday.
1 -
That's some decent changes. I really like them removing the spread. Hope the main event isn't useless still but will likely still be.
2 -
Thank you 😁

Changes nothing and he is still a toy.
11 -
Thank god they didn't wait 2 months just to monitor his stats. I like the accuracy update coming out for him, will def make him more interesting to play as.
4 -
Bruh what
26 -
Laceration still not fixed, main event still not fixed.
Like, was it so difficult to allow to have main event active until you WANT to activate it?
Or was it so difficult to make laceration disappear NOT automatically, but after survivor performs some kind of action?
I appreciate recoil&spread buffs, but everything else is definitely not what he needed.
18 -
THEY DID IT THEY REMOVED SPREAD.
THEY'RE FINALLY LISTENING, WRAITH BUFFS BLIGHTS POV BHVR I LOVE YOU WHATS HAPPENING TO YOU
25 -
Might want to re-read the notes:
Main Event now allows full normal movement speed AND the recoil and spread is reduced on ALL knives.
Moving at normal speed with accurate knives is a buff.
11 -
Of course they are listening. They listen all the time.
What some people dont understand is that listening does not mean to react immediatly (or that they have to react at all).
25 -
It's probably to prevent the "Deathslinger strats"? Only thing I can think of.
Readying Weapon, wait for them to dodge, then M1. It's a very small increase (0.25 secs)
7 -
Damn, that means people might start playing him again.
0 -
I kinda wish they focused on Main Event instead, as right now it's useless, will propably be even worse after these changes.
Nontheless, good changes, glad they didn't listen to Almo for once.
2 -
Now this is much much better, main event is still going to be not so useful due to lack of control and 8 knives still feel like too many but we shall see
0 -
That's a buff my dude.
To reword that... if/when you decide to put your knives away, it'll take 1 second to go back to moving at 110% and being able to swing your bat instead of 1.25 seconds. That by itself isn't a large buff, but it is a buff.
Edit: Ignore me... I just realized I read it backwards. Yeah idk why they nerfed that either.

Finally! He will still be the worst among ranged killers, but at least he will be playable.
0 -
Seems like a pretty good list but I still think his laceration decay needs to be much, much longer like 1 minute+. The fact that the decay exists forces him to commit to chases or waste his time, even if they're horrible to continue.
Still though, this is great to hear that they're doing buffs of this magnitude in a bugfix patch rather than making us wait till mid chapter. Props to Behaviour for that.
4 -
Yeah... I realized that a few minutes after I posted.
This is what I get for staying up until 2:30 AM.
7 -
You seem unsatisfied with this buff to Trickster. Your opinion.
I for one am happy with the changes. Perhaps there needs to be more, but I am not going to bemoan this buff just because I didn't get what I wanted.
4 -
Trixter is all about what survivors find fun. Survivors hate Deep would mechanics.
0 -
Survivors literally do not care about deep wound at all, lol.
9 -
I actually disagree, making his laceration not decay or decay after a tremendously long delay would just make him play like Myers or Ghostface where he "99%s" people, Im far more behind the idea of him being a purely chase killer.
7 -
Yess, this is wonderful.
Still dislike the laceration decay, but overall great stuff!
0 -
Yeah, giving the Trickster the ability to hit survivors anywhere they are isn't a huge deal. Not at all. Won't change a thing.
8 -
They complain how boring it is all the time when talking about legion.
0 -
This makes him significantly better but imo he still lacks personallity. His main even is still too whacky and inconsistent to make him proper ranged power up killer, they should focus on improving that.
It's good changes to make him stronger but he still might need more improvements to main event. Hard to tell, better to wait for the changes and see.
4 -
Probably because it's literally the only thing Legion does? lmao.
9 -
Praise the entitey while bounce isint base everything else I could of asked for was addressed
0 -
These changes while they are nice do not fix some of the main issues trickster had.
Laceration still going down means pressuring and snowballing is impossible. You HAVE to focus and tunnel someone all game.
Main event needs to make you faster than survivors so you can actually use it in a chase OR make it be able to pocket it so it can be used in defensive situations eg camping, 3 gen, etc.
The good change is the removal of spread and his reduced recoil. He is still however gonna be one of the worst if not still the worst killer in the game.
Also, BHVR back at it again with the "compensation" buffs and nerfs because apparently only buffing a weak killer without nerfing them isn't a thing.
9 -
Meh, he'll still be run infinite around shack. No 115 = goooooood luck.
2 -
You'll now be able to use his knives around shack, main buildings and maze tiles. 115 speed would mean nothing.
3 -
I do not know German. but he is faster when throwing knives and you have more control over his power. Did I help?
0 -
I don't think any reasonable person is going to think he will be a top tier Killer. Unless you can teleport or Pseudo teleport (Spirit), you cannot be a top tier Killer.
People and myself are just happy this Killer will be playable.
4 -
110% killers can still run shack my guy, and along with this
Trickster has a lessened slowdown so he can actually run around shack throwing knives like a minigun fires bullets
1 -
Should be next Tuesday
0 -
Sounds good
I am glad he is getting some small buffs already
0 -
I'm glad I decided to invest a bunch of time and BP into him. :)
1 -
The main reason main event was so useless was because you still went so slow. Now that they added the base speed it will make it better. I think it will allow it to be much better than it was before
0 -
They increase the time for laceration to start decaying from 15 to 20s and removed his spread so now you can control it better. You have more time if you cant hit 1 knife in that 20sif you cant I see some issues.and he is faster while throwing them
0 -
It would give him more strategy if laceration did not decrease. he could throw 6-7 knives, leave a survivor than m1 them later and he would only need single knife to down that survivor. Those changes are good but I suspect he will still down too slowly to keep up with the game tempo.
0 -
No they can't. Any decent survivor that knows how to run the shack loop against a 110 killer isn't going to go down unless they make mistakes. The wind up time doesn't seem that significant to me. The spread/recoil fix is a lot better as well as the laceration decay. I guess we'll see how it goes. Hopefully he turns out to be a strong killer.
0 -
They don't want people to constantly raise and lower his knives I'm assuming. This will force people to read the situation on when he will need to use his knives and when not to rather than being brainless like deathslinger and being able to aim anytime he wants with little to no penalty
0 -
But that's exactly what you're saying that I'm against, I know it would be like that, just as it is with Myers and Ghostface and I think that's unnecessary, there is nothing wrong with some killers not being "super strategic" and instead focusing on moment to moment reflexes.
1 -
If it would not decay, this would make Trickster similar to old Legion. The Survivor would go down no matter what while Trickster would still lose the game.
2 -
Yea I'm very happy that he is playable
If I can get around 7 hooks average with him that is enough for me
I've always loved the projectile killers and random spread on console was a massive turn off for me I feel like he can be good now nowhere near like Billy. More near huntress and pluage but then she can also be played good
