DS Nerf Needs Slight Un Nerf
It being deactivated on self healing needs to be changed to be a full heal. If you've started healing you could yes argue you're not being tunneled but say you start healing and killer decides to come tunnel you now because they see you've been unhooked or see you started healing yourself. You get tunneled for free now and the perk fails you. This wouldn't be abusable either because you still can't do gens without losing it nor heal others.

To me the nerf is just horrible becauss for accessibility reasons I actually changed the drop pallet or vault to m1 from space. Some times I accidentally self heal instead of droping the pallet. And then I lose my ds

Because as I found out it is way easier to use my mouse for skill checks and actions, my personal preference. Tbh self healing is the only action I don't agree for the ds nerf. The rest is ok.

Context
OP wants to heal after being unhooked. Unless you yeet yourself off the hook another survivor should be there to heal you.

Okay, but we're not playing against bots and realistically not everyone is going to heal you off the hook and not everyone knows to make safe saves and its not always possible to either.

Unsafe saves would mean the killer is close. You would selfcare in this case? No, either the killer tunnels you or chases the unhooker. Either case, run away from that hook.

I think it should also prevent using Inner Strength, but I suppose they want to keep the meme build of Inner Strength, DS, Quick and Quiet and Head-On together.
It really doesn't need a buff at all, especially after so short a period.

I'm really liking the DS nerf. I'm getting even more use out of it because killers are expecting it less and survivors can't abuse it any more by doing gens in my face the moment they're unhooked.
Maybe the solution for the OP is to not self-care under the hook. Move somewhere safer or just let your teammate heal you.

That's what I'm saying if I run and start self healing and they either hunt me down or maybe just stumble upon me and they down me its still tunneling intentional or not and I get got for free. The perk is nearing useless. Its still useful but this is the one situation where I think it needs to be given a small buff because the perk is perfectly fair for killers now but that part is unfair for any survivor trying to use it.

I use inner strength primarily but wanted to use the self care with botany and felix perk combo but remembered how DS is now and i'm not sure anymore if its even worth.

Use borrowed time, resilience or other good perk. If the killer tunnel you, well, let him kill you and go to the next match, probably with a not trash killer

Yeah not everyone is going to heal me off hook and I shouldn't always have to have them heal me just because DS will deactivate as soon as I start healing myself. Take it away after I've fully healed

If you start self healing before the killer come back that mean he was really far away, on the opposite side of the map. Maybe you should hide before healing?

A survivor can heal you and you don't lose ds and it's quicker.

And it gives your teammate loads of BP as compared to the pittance you get for self-caring. But mostly it's because it's twice as fast.
I wanna rename that perk selfish-care.

That isn't at all what that means. They could be right outside of what would let me hear them coming back or they could be a stealth killer and I not hear them or know they're coming at all or they could appear to be chasing someone else and I start healing in a spot I think is hidden and they come back

Now that I think of it, why not run Second Wind with it? As long as you healed someone before getting hook you gain a free health state after 20s. That could lead to situation where:
A: Killer down you after 18-19sec, try to pick you up but you go back in injured state and start running again
B: Killer grab you before you get healed, get DS then you heal.

So your problem is that you aren't scared at all so you'd rather just heal on the hook/near it. Got it.
Guess what, it's a horror game and you shouldn't be able to get away doing stuff in the killer's face.
Or run a perk like Inner Strength or Second Wind and voila, no more need to heal at all.

Healing right off the hook or running to safe zone to heal yourself is your option and decision however in both you're not getting tunelled technically so I don't see this as issue too much

You can still be tunneled if they come back and see you. On a map where there are tons of LOS blockers its a lot less likely but if they just see you running in the distance they can still come to tunnel you but if you've tried to heal yourself you're just screwed.

I do run inner strength. I'm bringing this up because I wanted to run a self care build today. Its not about healing at the hook or in front of the killer either.

ummm how about you improve at looping, maybe don't go down. I never run exhaustion or ds, if I do get tunneled. its usually a very new killer that loses the game to 2-3 other teammates. sometimes, you just die.
ds is a dumb perk may it be forever #########, never abusable again.

Exactly if you want to run it that's fine and use it where you're safe if no one else is around. But if there is another survivor there let them heal you because it's much faster and if you have ds you get to keep it.

Perhaps you don't choose to self-care until you are reasonably sure that the killer is doing something else.
Run spine chill to know if they're looking at you, or Alert to see if they're breaking pallets or gens. Your problem is that you're acting without adequate information.

Well Adrenaline does that so I suppose it would do the same. The only difference is the requirement for getting a health state back.
The fact that survivor think the nerf is too strong and/or want 1 perk to do that much for them just show how old DS was busted.
Second Wind & We'll Make it combined with DS still allow you to get tunneled & get a health state back. Not only that but there's plenty of other perks that help if you get slugged, to heal faster, protection hit etc.
Run Second Wind & a Med Kit+Syringe. If the killer is about to hit you before the 20s of Second Wind (let's be honest if that happen you either stayed on the hook, don't know how to run or he face camped you) then use the Sergine, get hit and SW will activate later. Otherwise you get Second Wind, killer hit you then use the Syringe and the killer will lose 2 gen if your team mates are not complete potatoes.

That ain't considered tunelling tho if someone unhooks you and killer doesn't find anyone else they know for a fact there's two ppl on place where unhook happend it's only logical to come back if u don't find other survs however it's ur decision if u wanna run and find safe zone or heal right off the hook plus even if they do come back u got heart beat and u can safely run to nearest loop tunelling means not giving surv an option and tunelling them a moment they got unhooked at least for me some might have different definition of tunell

Mine is essentially that and going for someone you know just got unhooked regardless of the situation. So that is a big part of why I have the stance. In your definition def don't need this change I mentioned.

I mean it depends I usually run spine chill most of time so I'm kinda safe with healing but I understand it can be annoying in certain situations

Yeah spine chill is a rare one for me. I use to run it all the time for spirit but after her nerf I didn't feel the need to anymore. With this post I tried to specifically point out the situation to be when you've gotten off and they come back but you weren't aware of them coming back until you heard the terror radius. In which case if you've tried to self heal and get caught you've been tunneled in my eyes but I can see why others wouldn't see it that way. To some you just got unlucky and got found again.

Only running DS to try it out and self care is for a challenge . Your comment was kind of snarky and you don't contribute much of anything by stating the simple. "Don't go down" well duh we all know that but doing it is a lot harder than just saying it

Why should the killer get punished for your teammate not taking the killer's attention after you get unhooked? I'm referring to unintentional tunneling. Many times I've gone to look for the one that unhooked and all i could find was the one unhooked. That's your team failing you, not the killer's fault you teammates are blenettes.
