Console Players = Second Class
Why are the fps drops on ps5 and xbox series x still not fixed?
Its the Lightning which came in a patch to improve graphics, which fcks up our smooth frame rates. Why cant they just remove the improved lightning?
Also why are there still no plans to bringt Mouse and Keyboard Support? There are like 50 Threads about People complaining about lack of MnKb Support.
In the last QnA (about 1-2 Months Ago) Devs said there are no plans to implement that in the future. I cant understand why they want to implement crossplay but dont equalize game mechanics, so crossplay could actually work well?
DBD is listed under Xbox Series X enhanced Games but fps drops like under 15 every single Match and no Equality between Pc and Consoles is unacceptable.
Another Thing i wanted to mention is optional Aim Assist. Every great Crossplay Game has this Feature, but DBD not? Just to be clear, i dont want this to be like in Cod, which is way too much. Just a tiny bit would be okay.
Devs, pls can you do something about this?

You're the first person I've heard say that the ps5 isn't running dbd well

Series X runs fine for me.

There are plenty of posts even on reddit or other social media platforms. You just need to look for that.
Im Playing on Xbox Series X and i got stuttering/fps drops on some maps and in some Situations.
Other Players in this forums mentioned it too so i guess its just you dont notice them...?

Hmm it runs fine for me on PS5 🤔

Aim assist would ######### console players hard with no rubber

Oh really? Point me in the right direction and post a few links to threads regarding the issue you have, I'm sure if they're "everywhere" you can find them fairly easy.

You should have bought a pc instead of a ps5, and you are even complaining that keyboard/mouse wont work anytime soon, i mean, u knew it so thats what you get

I alternate between playing on the PC and playing on Switch Lite, arguably the least powerful platform on which to play the game. My anecdotal experience has been good, the game runs nice and smooth on both machines. One just lets me play in bed. :)

I got a Series X and i assumed the problems are on ps5 too but i guess its only the series x players with those fps drops.
So i am complaining because i cant play some killers because of the Performance issues which came in a patch! Before that lightning update patch i had 0 issues with frame rate whatsoever.
And no, i didnt knew what i would get, because as i mentioned before, the game was running stable! Also i can expect the game runs smoothly on a good gaming machine nowadays and ps5 and series x are good enough.
By the way you just said its my fault because i bought the game on console, which is kinda true lol. I should not habe bought the game. Just Joking. I still love the Game.

Runs lovely on ps4 pro except for dying for no reason during struggle phase. I love the better colour/graphics they have done.

DBD will never be a truly optimized game

Series X user here, 60 fps solid as a rock every Game.

Ditto. Runs really well for me. Lovin' it.

Pls try playing the maps with Corn fields. Also try out playing Nurse then Teleport into the corn field and look left and right while doing it. It dips under 15-20 fps.

Easy there Dunson, without us console players your wait times would be 35% longer in lobby.
If a developer decides to make a title crossplay with a competitive fan base, they need to offer equal tools. You can adapt a controller to your pc... But if a ps4/xbox one player uses third party adapters for m&k they either deal with "modding" consequences or the 3rd party software is hot patched out immediately.

Thank you. Finally someone who understands the problem.

"Finally someone who understands the Problem." auto correction..

PS4 Pro and PS5 player here, both run excellent. There's been an occasional post about PS5s having frame issues, but most of the complaints are from Xbox players.
And hey, $500 on a PC would have just as many frame problems if not more.

Well there's not much of a difference when it comes to the game... The only difference is many pcs simply have better hardware. The game also lag sometimes on high end pc's, so idk why you're blaming the ps5 and xbox series x when its simply the general optimization thats very bad.

I'm on a Series X and it runs fine for me. Not phenomenal or anything, just fine. No obvious stutters or FPS drops.

Only Xbox one and PS4 are getting this, Series X and PS5 should be running perfectly
1 -
I've never had any issues on the PS5, keep in mind the PS5 currently is more powerful than a lot of PC's so this shouldn't be an issue
2 -
If you're on Xbox Series X, just loop around a completed gen and tell me your fps doesn't drop to like 15. It's more noticable with killer. On the "The Game" it was even worse, but with the last patch it got better. OP is actually right, at least on Series X some lightning effects + scratchmarks are still causing massive fps drops.

The fog makes the fans on my PS4 go nuts. It happens big time on the menus, they really need to fix that, the menus should not be resource hogs. But the fans will also go nuts due to the fog on maps and it gets especially bad for Freddy's Dream World and Clown's gas.
This has been pointed out before and the problem persists. They could at least fix the damn menus as a sign that they're listening.

My biggest problem is the PS5 used to have higher resolution when the game for it came out and since 4.6.0 they put the resolution back to PS4 version... There's virtually no difference visually anymore!
Reported it and they don't even respond.

I get occasional lags and such like in a chase or when I’m trying to hit a survivor. I’m a PS4 person.

pain
3 -
Sadly they are not, and are worsening...
1 -
That's on the One X, for reference.
I haven't noticed any FPS improvements unless 2+ Survivors are dead, in which case the game runs at 40+ FPS
4 -
It's all the smoke on Aslyum that does it, I think.
I, and my friends, get freezes like my clip constantly. Enough so that we just plan on the game freezing whenever we hit someone/whenever they might have DH.
1 -
The game already has aim assist for most attacks, only ranged attacks don't have aim assist because they are powerful and having a power that is both powerful and is aimed for you is too much
0 -
You get used to it. We all joke that we'd be the best players if we didn't freeze constantly lmao.
But in all seriousness, this is why I refuse to let Console Optimization go. It's extremely needed.

Preach fellow consoler preach!

Are you sure you're playing the PS5 version of the game? I have a PS4 Pro and a PS5 and there's a significant difference in the way the two versions look right now. On your PS5, go to DBD and where it says "Play" go the right to the dots and click that. If you're on the PS4 version the option to switch to the PS5 version will be there. (Sometimes it randomly switches which version of the game I'm playing)

Guys i have to write this comment, because i talked sht at some things.
First off all, the fps drops only seem to happen to xbox (series x) players.
Another thing is, there actually is aim assist - at least it feels like that. I have tested this today with the Trickster. It feels like he got aim assist. I dont know if its only the Trickster or if it is like death slinger or huntress too. Last time i tried huntress it seemed she hasnt aim assist but that was like 2 or 3 months ago.
So the Fps Drops are not on every map and not in every Situation. It only happens in some Situations but i still think it has to do with the light effects update or how you wanna call it. If Gens are done it can haplen and i noticed it in corn fields as i mentioned before.
So: I want to say sorry (especially to the devs). I chose the (rude) Title of this Thread, because i was so mad when i just had fps drops again (had a break for some weeks). And why i was so mad? Well because i love this game and it made me sad, Pc Players have an advantage. It kinda ruined the fun for me, because in some Situations i was like: "Omg, on Pc, with MnKB i would have hit that!". I guess some of you know how it feels 😅...
This is a bit off topic now but yesterday i saw the ptb changes to the hook struggle and i have to say this is one of the best Changes ever (for me at least and im killer main lol).
Thank you.

I'm on PS4 - the lag/stuttering/frame drops is downright painful. I no longer can play killer because of how glitchy the game is. As survivor, I'm glitching and stuttering around the map (as are other players). My ms/ping has been hitting over 1000 in matches (I've checked my internet and ps4, they are not the issues.)
This only started after the 4.6.0/new chapter update. I thougbt the last update was bad where the game was broken for everyone but this is worse??
I really hope it gets fixed in the next patch. If not, I'm gonna have to stop playing until they fix it. (I can't attach a video of how bad it is for some reason, but wow it's bad.)

I don't have frame drops or anything, my issue is that sometimes it seems like DBD forces my Series X to hard shutdown. I reboot it and it says it shut down to prevent overheating, which is super confusing...
It doesn't blow hotter than normal, fan doesn't speed up, it's vertical, unenclosed, and elevated slightly to open up the vents on the bottom. Not to mention that I'll play other games for longer (Destiny 2, Overwatch, etc) and it happily chugs along.

I and most Xbox1x users had the same problem when Blight came out. Started game, console crashed and shut down, restarted and got the overheat message. Following patch fixed it but couldn't play for a week.
You prolly should put this in the bugs/technical parts of the forum I think.

Just did, good call.

DBD runs on my Series X at 60 FPS with ease. It could go much higher, but the game locks it at 60 FPS.

Your first reference was on Fortnite, not DBD and the second one was only mentioning the Saw map. So you have 1 reference and its only on 1 map that its referenced by a few people. Not really sure what to tell you.

I'm glad you and OniWantsYourMacaroni keep posting videos of the FPS drops console players experience. I'm on ps4 and everytime one of you shares a video it's like rewatching my own games getting screwed over by fps drops.
2 -
Glad I can be of service :)

So the Drops also occur if a gen is done and i use my right analog Stick to look around nearby. Nothing happens (60fps smooth) as long as the gen wont appear on the screen. If i look around and can see the gen on my screen, there is stuttering/fps drops.

The lighting fps drops on series x have been around awhile. I've commented in the optimization discussion a long time ago. Hopefully they are working on it

Make sure you have your console set to performance mode and not resolution mode. Performance mode focuses on maximizing frame rate and forces games to run at 60fps as a minimum (it can go much higher)
Also make sure your actually booting up the ps5 digital version of Dbd and not the old ps4 one. Since you can change between the 2 versions it’s an easy mistake to make with a click of a button in a certain part of the games hub.

Yea I've done that check. The graphics are a bit better on ps5 version but the resolution is different since 4.5.0.
The bloodweb buttons etc. We're all half the size on my TV screen when the PS5 version first came out but since the update they're set at the same size as PS4 version.
It's just a resolution bug

I wonder if that has to do with the UI scale feature that was added in 4.5.0.
