maybe try not self caring within line of sight of the killer that'd be a good start

DS can't protect you from all the dumb ######### you do, stop expecting it to.

So true. I just was in a game on Rotten Field and end up "tunneling" a survivor to death. First I hook him and walk toward my obsession who was working on a gen (I saw him on BBQ). The person got unhooked and since I also run STBFL I decided to go back to the hook. The unhooked person is the only one to be seen, got him, got DS but continue chasing him as it's the only person I can see.

At the end that person ask me why I tunneled. I told him I had STBFL, knew the obsession was the person alone working on a gen, I was closer to the hook than her anyway and when I came back it was the only survivor to be seen. To make things worst the person who got the unhook was only hook once so he could have make me lose time on him and I would have only get a 1k.

If the killer sees you healing, you are the exact reason that DS needed to be nerfed. DS is no longer 60 seconds of invulnerability. Why are you healing yourself so quickly after being unhooked? You should be running somewhere safe, then making sure the killer isn't there, and then healing yourself.

I would agree with you if healing was all or nothing, like trying to cleanse a totem. But you still retain partial healing bars even if you stop.

That is funny, killer perks do exactly that. Get stunned at a pallet? Spirit Fury. Made a lot of mistakes and camped? NOED.

DS needs to be buffed so it doesn't penalize for actually playing the game because killers are tunneling with this dumb healing and gen tapping crap. It's not even mistakes, just playing the game. It is NOT fun.

And that's why I love the DS change because now if they go to a corner and self-care they get punished for it , DS doesn't deactivate if someone else is healing you until you are fully healed and if you're fresh off hook self-care probably isn't the best idea anyway.

I'd love it if other obsession perks could be buffed to a much higher degree tbh. DS is the only obsession perk worth running besides For the People or Object, maybe. Solo Survivor still needs a massive rework and Blood Pact is mediocre. MoM also needs buffs.

If the killer is not chasing you, you then decide to heal, and the killer sees you as a result of your actions. That's all on you and ds served its purpose.

Healing in proximity of the killer is completely your choice and the perk doesn't need to correct mistakes outside of a tunnel chase.

You and everyone else that has said that has missed my point. The point is that you went to hide and there was no terror radius and you started healing and then DS went away and then at any point during that heal the killer comes back looking for you. From there you can commit to the heal or try to run or hide somewhere else and then get found and you get hooked for free because you tried to heal yourself. It is not at all about healing at the damn hook. Its like none of you read or you ignore the parts that go against what you wanna say to counter argue.

Realize I didn't paint the picture correctly in the post when I made it, but yeah you're right. That situation is what should happen and what I intended to happen but it didn't since the killer kept looking for me after I tried to heal and then tried to move somewhere to hide again.

I really don't get why so many people are against this. I don't think it would be THAT problematic if you could heal yourself and still retain DS.

If not that, at least make it so that DS' timer pauses while being chased similar to Pig's active reverse bear traps. This would make it less likely that DS will wear off after being tunneled off hook by a killer who insists on chasing you and trying to wait out DS.

so then you're healing close enough to the killer so that they can go for someone else decide to break chase then come back to where he last saw you or got lucky and had time to find you while your were still healing, either your hiding spot sucks or they had nurses this is still on you and not the fault of the perk. I see no world where you self caring and being found before finishing healing is not your own fault

They're called medkits my guy. You've moved off and think you're good. Start healing and a stealth killer hits you out of nowhere.

At the topic. I agree, it should be changed to deactivate on full heal.

That's not tunneling though. Thats getting caught out of position or being caught by the killer in general. That's like calling it tunneling if the killer sees you in general. Ds was meant to protect you after getting off the hook if the killer chased you. But if you were successfully unhooked, got away and the killer just so happened to see you that's not tunneling.

I just saw someone reply the same thing I was gonna tell you lol. But is it really tunneling if you are the only survivor they see. At that point they ain't got no choice but to chase you because they would be making a dumb choice to let you go and just waste time looking for survivors who may or may not be there

I was weened off DS because killers respected it and would not tunnel you. Now I'm back on it bc they run with no fear. When I play killer, I worry less about DS as well. The best part of that perk is that it was widely respected.

Also, you should have to crouch to allow another survivor to heal you. There is nothing stopping them from tapping you and deactivating your DS. I now run away from them and they just follow waiting to touch me.

I now alternate between DS and DC. When I get farmed and/or tunnelcucked I use one or the other.

I'll be honest, I kinda agree with OP somewhat.

I think the nerf was NEEDED let me be clear about that and it's good.

However I also think it could do MORE to help with the tunnel problem too while not bringing problems back.

Firstly, I don't think the skill check requirement should be a thing anymore, or it should be larger so that people don't actually have a chance to whiff a legit "don't tunnel me" defense. I mean that is all it does now.

Or another option I would like it to work after the second unhook somewhat as well.

I mean, if a killer is genuinely trying to tunnel you, they keep doing it. It would be nice if it worked like, 30 seconds after first unhook, but jumping in a locker also disabled it, HOWEVER, it worked after second unhook as well. In addition, if you are within 32 meters of the killer after being unhooked the timer is paused for 60 seconds. So the timer is longer if they go right after them, but shorter if they don't.

I dunno, but I feel they can do more to punish ACTUAL tunneling and not punish others or make it too strong.

It doesn't need a buff or reversal, it needs to actually deal with tunneling. I'm not sure what that looks like but I can tell you being tunnelled can sometimes exceed 60 seconds, just because you're slugged and not picked up within 60 seconds doesn't mean anything and tunneling isn't limited to once per match.

Ds isn't removed by another Survivor attempting to heal you. You don't need to run from your teammates to keep it.

I was happy with the DS nerf, but now after playing for a while on both sides, I can agree that it could remove the penalty from self-healing.

As a killer, you could even strategically let survivors to start heal themselves so you can tunnel.

As long as DS is deactivated by tapping gens or breaking totems, rescuing or other objectives, I feel self-healing should be allowed.

That's what i'm saying I'm ready to abuse it as killer but I don't really like tunneling so prob won't intentionally do it often but still.. Lots of killers tunneling a lot more too now
