Spirit is just awful
Spirit is a real problem in the sense that it's just too easy to win as her. On paper her power seems pretty complicated to learn but all you gotta do is slap on stridor and play a couple matches and boom, you're pretty much a spirit main now, congrats. Not only is it just unfun to play against spirit, but it's just plain unfair at times and it seems like there are almost no counters to her other than run iron will and no mither. This has to be one of the most poorly balanced characters in the game and I hate it. It's not fun to play her because half the time you basically press one button and you win, or maybe you dont even move at all and they get confused. Something has to be done about Spirit, I could care less about Freddy tbh. Atleast Freddy can't just stand still to get a free down. It's annoying.

Have you tried looping harder? she makes sounds when she phase walks you know. There are real problems in this game like the plague and freddy, spirit is just chump change in F tier if you know what I mean

lol wut spirit is the most problematic out of the three here
She does make those footsteps when phasing, but sounds are inconsistent and most of the time if you hear her like that you will probably take a hit. You are almost guaranteed to be hit if she is that close.

iron will and no mither aren't counters to her, they just make it harder for her to track survivors.
I don't think spirit is going to be changed anytime soon though :(

Spirit is as successful as she is because the majority of Survivors tend to run around the map like freshly decapitated chickens, leaving nice orange and bloody trails behind them. It's not so much because of her power, I don't think.

I just wish they would give her some kind of indicator she's phasing and to make her take more skill. That's all we want.

Basically this. Counterplay is based on using info provided during a scenario. Spirit kinda defeats that entirely. With Nurse, you can see them charging their blink and which direction they are going, so you have SOME data to work with, even if it's going to be rough to use. Stealth Killers move slowly and can still be seen. Fast-bois give you some kind of warning they are coming and you normally have at least a moment to TRY and react. Spirit has nothing. It's just a coin toss. Being easy to use doesn't help matters much.

I mean what would this change? Nothing. So, imagine you're given info she's phasing. Ok. You can do 2 things now: You walk and stop running, so she goes out of phasing and normally hits you, or you continue running and she hits you anyway.
She shouldn't be able to hear when phasing. She should only be guided through scratch marks and know the approximate location so she has to guess. As long as she can predict 100% accurately where you are (decent headphones) knowing she's phasing influences absolutely nothing lol

Tbh she would be moderately less of a pain if they gave an indication as to when she is phasing. That mind game is so dumb it's usually a lose/lose situation. Like, sure, there is "counter play" to that but it's pure guesswork. I've lost to that mind game countless times and every time it feels like there was nothing I could've done about it.
And that's not even accounting for the chase itself, just the mind game, but at least in the chase I have more things at my disposal to try and juke her out so long as I'm not in the open. Yes, it's guesswork, but it's a different kind of guesswork where at least BOTH of us have to try and guess.

I was more pointing out that she needs to give SOME kind of data when phasing or during her phase. Something to work with. Knowing when she phases would help with the "stand still" strat at pallets, as it would remove that "mind game" entirely (the fact this "strat" is a tip on the loading screen makes me think it won't ever be changed by who knows). I'd also like something that gives SOME idea of where she is when phased. Even if its a spooky blowing wind sound when she's within a set distance, to let you know she's close. Something. ANYTHING. Playing against Spirit just sucks cuz the Survivor has basically nothing to work with.

Yeah but, again, this would have little effect on her. The real issue of Spirit is you literally have no idea where she is but she knows where you are at all times. So, if you knew "ok she's phasing now" it would still have no effect on the outcome whatsoever. The moment you walk (and she saw you 1 second ago so she knows where you are), she stops phasing, and hits you. In order to have any change, they need to nerf her ability to know the exact location of survivors. Make her hear weird noises while phasing and not be able to hear footsteps or moaning survs and then it does turn into a true mind game guessing.

Yeah, and I don't understand why everyone was so hyped about it. It literally changed only 1 thing. You knew where she was and it was helpful TO HIDE BEFORE SHE SAW YOU. In an actual chase once she spotted you, it literally made -no difference-

There was, and it was actually nice because you could tell she was using her ######### power. It wasn't enough but it was a great start.
I just want them to find her files, delete them, refund people their bloodpoints and auric cells for doing so. Forget she ever existed and have everyone who pretends she actually has counterplay when using Stridor finally stop defending this bullshit piece of ######### killer.

She's not amazing but significantly better because at least, if you use Iron Will, there's something you can do VS her.
You shouldn't have to use Iron Will every game just for the chance at facing a Spirit but I digress.

Probably? I played Spirit to 50 and stopped. I just didn't care much for her...didn't find her all that fun to play. But I never used Stridor.

Mean the last spirit I played against I beat with Bill by just going in random directions instead of following patterns. They missed so many times that 3 gens went off and they gave up. She doesn't seem that hard if you're not predictable.

I'm a big proponent of Iron Will, actually, and it's in my permanent build....Spirit or not. One of the strongest Survivor perks in the game.

And I agree, it's an amazing perk that I use because contrary to popular belief I like to play stealthily. But you shouldn't feel forced to run one specific perk just to have a chance at countering one specific killer.

Yeah, I get ya. I guess I just don't feel forced to use it as a counter to one particular Killer. It counters them all. Removing any noisemaking when injured gives the Killer one less avenue to locating you.

Yeah, I don't like her either. I made a post about her and Stridor recently and how Iron Will doesn't fully counter it.
She has a small shimmer appear around her body when she's phasing but this can be really hard to see and notice while in chase. They should make her phasing a lot more noticeable.

Communicating with your friends and using 10000 extra lives is unfun to go against as well. Spirit is literally one of the two killers who are viable at upper ranks thanks to the swfs communicating and using all their second chance crutches. Now I sound like an idiot, don't I? or do I have a point? Or are things only unfair if it comes from the killer?

She has no counterplay, and just so easy to do well with for a killer who's considered the second best. I don't see how she's not at the top priority list of things that need to be addressed

She could use small nerf like some animation or audio hint for survivors when she starts phasing and also her mother daughter add on change.

Spirit stands out as a problem over Nurse (who is arguably much stronger) for one primary reason: On the very rare occasion that you DO outplay her power, it doesn't matter.
Nurse incurs a 3 second stun and blind if she whiffs a blink.
Spirit just has the one second missed attack cooldown.
Spirit needs a downside to her power so she's not stuck at just being a 150% killer. If, after tossing out an attack from phase, she lost the ability to see anything but the level geometry for three seconds (no scratch marks, no blood trail, no sounds), she could end up paying dearly for a whiff.
