Skill Checks... not just any skill checks!!!! Nooooo im talking about the bogus ones that happen the moment you let off the gen. The kind that should be so improbable that most people say "oh unlucky". Which if we were talking statistically it would be really unlucky... If you work on a Gen by yourself and dont let off it takes a 1:20... you might get a skill check 8 times on a good gen. The chances of a skill check happening when you get off a solo gen are about 9%, but thats not counting the randomness of a skill check. You could get 1... you could get 12 on a full gen even. So that drops the odds significantly.

I feel like there is some trickery afoot and BHVR actually activates skill checks when you get off, its not as random as it seems. Sometimes it'll happen multiple times in a game, or when youre healing someone and you get off as the killer enters your area. I dunno, i got no proof but the probability vs reality are a bit questionable here.

Thoughts?

The Devs really do need to add a half-second grace period. Or swap out Overcharge and regular skillchecks so Overcharge punishes gen tapping but you can hit a regular skillcheck on the fly.

But even when you do get a skill check when you get off sometimes you hear the ding and nothing happens and sometimes the gen just blows up with no audio q

geez you survivors can tap a generator to stop an already incredibly slow regressing process and it only takes you a fraction of a second to do so

    yet you complain about this

It’s why I run Technician periodically if I want to be more chill while working on gens.

I love the assumptions people make on these forums lol Complain about an issue on 1 side. "must be survivor main" lol even if that person brings up issues on both sides.... and plays both sides at red ranks.

Because I think it's intentional, or was unintentional and the developers liked it as part of the game and kept it in.

I mean if you panic and run off a gen in the middle of something that can cause an explosion, there being an explosion at that moment sometimes makes a lot of sense honestly.

Its a conspiracy theory that's really not. The Devs programed these skillchecks to pop up them moment the survivor lets go of the generator when a killer is near or a survivor is hooked. The other times are random.

    I'm not crazy, you are!

I feel like this issue was dealt with a while ago by the devs, which helped make gen tapping gens with old ruin an alright(ish) strat if you couldn't hit great skill checks.

So the mechanic is already there and should perhaps be tweaked a little bit more to be more lenient. Or perhaps the devs could make it so you can still hit a skill check when you're off the gen anyway, like with overcharge.

It's annoying. I eventually adjusted the way I play so that, if I want to cancel an action and I haven't had a skill check in a while, I wait for the next one and then let go after. If it's an absolutely emergency, of course, I still just let go and take my chances but, most of the time, waiting for the next skill check is okay.
