So, I have a group of friends who all bought DbD today on my recommendation. We're in a 4 man swf and I'm showing them the ropes. Some of the killers are also inexperienced but a good handful definitely weren't. A rank 20 Spirit with tier 3 Blood Warden, Barbeque and Nurses is not a rank 20 killer. This is before rank reset. One or two? Sure, maybe. But this was too many, a little over a third of the games that we played. What's with that? Are people deranking just so they can meta build and butcher new players? So many people around here just being dicks for no reason. Like, that's the sort of thing that is going to push new players away.

    They could have not played Killer much/ever but put a ton of Bloodpoints into Spirit while playing Survivor.

    Hate to tell you this but survivor do this as well...or it could be people who haven't played in a long time just getting back in it is the weekend after all.

    This happens when I play killer. I’ve got damn near 3k hours in the game but I never play killer. I’ve got a few that I like that I’ve maxed perks on, but I play so rarely my killer rank is usually anywhere between 15 and 20.

    When I do play killer, I will play normally but not kill anyone. I feel that way the babies I’m up against have a legit game and then get some farm in at the end instead of a completely miserable experience.

    plenty of people derank and smurf in this game. You also will have the survivor mains who sometimes play killer and their rank will always be low due to rank reset

    Then why bring full meta loadouts to face a bunch of noobs?

    Of all the things in this game that can happen. Smurfs are my least favorite thing. I just can't respect it. Play how you want, but do it against equal competition. And it happens on both sides.

    Guess what - some people leave the game for a few months at a time - nature of gaming. Some people only come back every 3 months or so for new killers. Another common scenario - people play survivor the majority of the time and put their BP into killers but rarely actually play killers.

    It's not some conspiracy.

    I mean someone playing spirit with blood warden doesn't mean much.

    Not many killer's de-rank as you think, the smurfs are on different accounts usually. Survivors do this too sometimes.
