The logical rework for Mettle of Man

Gain the Endurance status every time the Killer is carrying a Survivor. You lose Endurance after taking a protection hit or upon the Survivor being hooked/dropped.

After taking at least one Endurance Hit, your Aura is revealed to the Killer outside of 16m until the next time you are downed.

Mettle would let a healthy Survivor take three protection hits. And an injured Survivor take two of them. Strong synergy with Breakout and/or Sabo Builds.

This is a great idea. It also incentivises the killer to not camp or tunnel whoever was hooked if they can easily see the MoM aura.

I think that'd be too strong.

Maybe increase the requirement to 6. But let safe unhooks count toward gaining a 'token'. (I know it's not exactly token based, but you get my idea I hope). Like if you get 4 safe unhooks, and two protection hits, Mettle procs.

This is a much better direction for the perk, and allows for synergies with Breakout/Sabo. It'd likely be a very niche build, but could allow you to do funky saves if also combined with some way to heal yourself (Inner Strength or a Medkit most likely, you could do Self Care + Botany but then that's your entire buiild)

This is a legitimately fantastic and easy rework idea. The fact that it also gets countered by Starstruck is a neat interaction as well. Might also need to make it so that you don't lose collision when taking a protection hit? Commenting for attention.
