I know the game and most in-Game lore/description. And nothing there says that sunrise would be contradicting anything, especially when it’s part of a realm that gets created by the Entity from memory’s.
For Wraith and Nurse I think they even gave another reason for the light vulnerability, and also explained why Spirit isn’t affected as well, something about the first two entering some other plain/dimension. Hag I am not sure about, but every other killer is not directly affected even if they have Entity-given powers.

Nah, I agree completely. The surreal, otherworldly feel of the Dead by Daylight maps and overall vibe of the game was a huge selling point for me. Each game felt like the survivors had just spawned into a nightmare. Crotus Penn Asylum and the deep blue, otherworldly moonlight of Macmillan were, personally, my two favorite maps for these reasons. The recent map reworks, along with some of trickster's themes, really give the impression that bhvr is losing sight of their original creative vision.

The entity created the realm, so why would it create real sunlight? Also, variety is refreshing, and why lose your mind until you at least see the final form?

Dead by Daylight
Daylight map 🤔
Get it?

I know alot about this games lore, but if a map looks pretty I am not gonna complain

Who's gonna tell OP that moonlight is just reflected sunlight?

Already done, they ignored it conveniently :)

TBH, i never read anything besides some killer lore. I don't play for that.

So true.
I hate this game is losing more and more of the horror-game aspect.
Daytime map definitely kills the spooky feeling.
Such a shame.

I have read some stupid things in my dbd life. This is is among the top tier of stupid. You want real logic from a video game like this? Looooooool

Heaven forbid we have a bit of visual variety in the map design. Every map should be the same dull blue color as the old MacMillan Estates. /s

Per the lore, the entity is a cosmic being, the personification of evil. It corrupts then consumes everything it can in the universe. It prefers dark, land based planets but it isn't limited to that.
Where, exactly, in the lore are you pulling this out of your ass from? I've gone through the lore and can't find anything having to do with light
I can however, say that mr grimes thinks the entity is an "ancient one", which, if true and is connected to lovecraft, would mean that it wouldn't give 2 fffuuuuuuus about light. Ancient ones are beyond anything the human mind can imagine. That would mean that IF light did hurt it, we can safely assume that light wouldn't be something as simple as a large, burning star in the center of our galaxy. And we can't rely on OUR light hurting it, since we only see a portion of the light spectrum in general.
You say flashlights, but we don't know what effect flashlights have on the entity itself. Can we shine a light on the hooks as the entity is appearing to stop it? No? So it's apparently not hurt by light, if all of your theories (which you haven't backed up with actual lore) can explain.
Edit: I know most people on here don't care about lore, but I love reading it. I love the story playing out and I have theories on why survivors are picked - they're not only resourceful, but I think the entity sees some darkness in them - specifically now Yun-jin. She ignored what was happening with the trickster. That's not a good trait/quality.
I also do not think, in any way shape or form, the lore should have any impact on gameplay beyond thematic texts on items and lore entries, etc.

God bless the DBD forums. o7

Dude it's a fake sun created by an eldritch god in a video game. If you're getting this upset, you should be looking forward to the map rework, because you clearly need to get some sun.

Yes, and I don't really care. This argument is form over function.
