Why is the PTB only available on steam?
I get why it isn't available on console but why isn't it available in other game stores?
Do they not allow such an option?
If so could they not allow a PTB code available if people own the game on other formats? Would allow for more engagement I imagine

Sorry, I worded my response poorly. Just edited it now.

Could be wrong, but I don't think Console/Windows store platforms support them. On the other hand, Steam allows for multiple versions of the game to be accessible to any player at once, which is why only PC players can access it.
EDIT: I think I'm wrong actually, having a look at some old tweets from DBD, it would seem they don't have the time to support a PTB on all platforms, so instead only provide it to PC players on Steam. (Source: https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1004445022576668672)

I believe its primarily the Certification processes for them. It's not possible to have a PTB the same way on consoles (or even the MS Store on PC) as it is on Steam, which is why it's only the Steam platform that has the PTB. And with Steam, changes can be made to update the PTB if needed (which is not the same for other platforms), and its very necessary to have that ability on PTB.
I myself have friends that are not on Steam that would love to try out PTB as well, but the PTB is only available on Steam.

I get that, I'm saying there are other stores other than the steam store, and they seem to offer multiple versions being available but DBD don't load the PTB into that only steam, for instance I play through the xbox store on Windows, so I'm playing on PC but can't access the PTB because not steam, even if they gave out codes to players so they could access the PTB but they dont

I don't understand that certification process I'd have expected that to be possible but let's say you're correct (you seem to understand that) why don't they offer codes to their players to be able to play the PTB on steam? Surely that should be possible?

Thanks, I still think offering a PTB pass on steam would be possible sort of like offering a demo version, but it seems like it's an area they aren't looking to advance

Most console players play on a console because they don't have a gaming pc, PTB DbD would run poorly for them and creating a special "demo" version on Steam for something that is only available for 1 week every other month doesn't seem worth the trouble.
