When are grabs going to be fixed?
Am I the only person wondering when grabs will be fixed? I know that hits are calculated based on killer but when it comes to grabs I've been mid grab animation and had survivors just get up and run away, simply by letting go, locking me into an empty animation and robbed of both grab and a hit. It's to the point that I specifically try avoiding grabs because of how busted they are. What is worse, survivors know that grabs are busted and frequently abuse this issue by tapping an action to bait a killer into either a broken grab or a quick swing, especially at end game hooks. So I'm just wondering if this issue will get fixed or plans to be fixed any time soon?
I didn't put this in bug reports because, by now, it is a well known and reported issue. my question is if there are any plans on fixing the issue in the works.

Whenever getting hit through a window after taking like 3 steps from it- whenever more dedicated server improvements come.
It's not a bug directly, it's dedicated servers deciding you didn't do it.

That's what I mean though, servers calculate hits in favor of killer when considering latency...so why don't they do the same thing for a grab? I mean it's so ridiculously safe that survivors will just sit on a gen or totem, milking every last second from them, knowing that they can get away from a well earned/deserved grab by letting go after the grab is triggered. It really swings an unreasonable amount of favor to survivors who are knowingly making risky or stupid moves because they know there is little or no threat form being instant-downed by way of grab.

Man I know and I understand it's frustrating I get cucked out of dozens of grabs practically daily.
However it really is just to do with the dedicated servers; and while I would love to say a fix is on it's way, they mostly just do very small improvements every once in a long while. I don't see it getting a whole lot better quickly unfortunately.

The difference being that on the Survivors screens they can often see the grab animation start, both the one getting grabbed an any observers.

Yeah you can see a deathslinger spear fire off where you used to be and then teleport into your body on both screens too when it happens.
It's still dedicated servers, I don't know what you want me to say as that much has been confirmed already.
I mean I could lie, and say it's just some easily solvable bug instead, and that it will be fixed very soon any update now if you want.

It may be dedicated servers, but it's not latency. That's the difference between janky hits and robbed grabs.

The grab bug that confuses me the most is when your just stuck there giving them a pat on the back as they do the gen in your face.

They promised that they'll rewrite the code for grabs on some QnA's, but didn't specify the date.

The times it bugs me the most are when I didn't even want to grab -- I just wanted to do a fast attack on a survivor who was vaulting into my face, and then I got pulled into a grab animation, and then it cancelled, and then I just stood there stupidly while the survivor ran away. :(

Yep and the most annoying thing about this is that you are even stuck with the animation as killer, making you lose time and sometimes even lose the possibility of doing an M1.

Yes it does. I've grabbed plenty of people off of gens. You just gotta be quick about it. mainly gens, pallets not so much, windows are a rare thing for me too.

Well they've been broken for like 2 years now so odds aren't good.

Probably. Every time I try, I get halfway into the animation and then they run off. Its so annoying.
