RE going to DBD thoughts?
RE is one of my favorite franchises ever, in fact RE4 is my favorite game. It is for this reason I just hope they do this well, like a fun and balanced killer that is B to A tier and not a F- killer or something that looks cool but is not viable to play.
how are you guys feeling?
Is it unusual or is it to be expected RE characters joining the DBD universe?

It's pretty exciting. I'm personally a sucker for crossovers and i've really enjoyed the Resident Evil games i've played so this is dope.

as i said before i'm really happy with it but some people think its RE7/8 Related, and it's indeed a possibility, if it's the case the chapter will be just meh for me as i'm not really into the new games. still cool tho

im excited for it.
honestly, im hoping its gonna be another one of those chapters that "break the rules" like the Stranger Things chapter.
maybe this time with more than one Killer - they do have plenty of characters to choose from after all! (my biggest hope is gonna be Mr.X alias the Tyrant)

I think thats more likely then nemesis, who knows. Maybe they throw a april fools and the killer is just a common zombie. XD

It could be a marketing strategy to promote the R8 games release as that is the franchise focus as of the moment.
R7 was incredibly well recieved and R8 has so much hype already, DBD would be a good way for Capcom and BHVR to scratch eachothers backs.

The trailer had the Umbrella Corporation pendant in it. Umbrella hasn't been relevant to the series since Resident Evil 3 (1999), so it would be pretty weird to include that if the Chapter is themed after the more recent titles.

Umbrella saved Ethan at the end of 7, and Chris who is now working for them is going to be a big part of 8. So I don't know what you mean by Umbrella hasn't been relevant.

Personally my ideal RE chapter would be:
- Jill and Chris as survivors
- Raccoon City Police Department as the map.
- Jack Baker as the killer.
Overall though I'm very hyped regardless of what we get.

That's Blue Umbrella, a PMC. Not the Umbrella Corporation, pharmaceutical giant.
They're two different companies with no relation to each other besides the name.
The Umbrella Corporation went bankrupt and defunct sometime between RE3 and RE4.
The pendant in the reveal is specifically the logo for the Umbrella Corporation, not Blue Umbrella.

I think it's neat. Not really that unexpected, not really that important to me personally, but I know RE has a huge fan base and I'm glad to see the chapter coming in and bringing in those new players.

I'm curious to see the power of the killer and who they're adding for survivor(s).
Other then that, I don't play RE and never have, so I'm not super excited or something.

I just thought it is weird they announced it months before it’s scheduled to be released.
I like resident evil especially the remakes, but I’m still disappointed it’s coming to DBD at the moment. They’ve not released a new map in a very long time excluding revisions of course, and unless this chapter comes with a themed map I’d remain disappointed.

I really wasn't expecting RE to be brought into DBD. But, As someone who is a big fan of the Resident Evil franchise, I'm pretty excited. I just hope that the chapter is done right.

Pretty sure they want to deliver a licensed chapter as big as RE with a new map. Just because they released original chapters without maps (while still being open to maybe add those in the future) doesn’t mean it’s reasonable to assume they won’t release a map here.

So what is the relevance of 4-leaf clovers in RE?
when showing the charm you see it is surrounded by 4-leaf clovers. I only watched let’s plays of some of the RE games so I might be just missing something?

Umbrella was still relevant for several titles directly after 3 (CODE:Veronica, Zero, Survivor, etc.) as well as later titles to come. The only game without a lot of involvement from Umbrella was RE4, which still made mention of them. In that sense, it can pretty much be any character from any point in the series timeline. But I'm leaning on it being someone from the RE1 or 2 main cast since they're usually the ones to star in everything. Maybe Chris and Jill or Leon and Claire like how they did Nancy and Steve.

I can't think of anyone associated with clovers, which makes me think it might be RE8 and something we haven't seen yet. It's hard to say at the moment.

Umbrella is still very relevant to the series. Resident Evil 5 talked about the origins of the company,the threat in Resident Evil 6 was a group called New Umbrella, in 7 Chris was working with a new Umbrella group to fight bioweapons, and they seem to be important for 8, where in the trailer that appeared in the showcase, we saw the famous icon of the company.

RE is one of my favorite franchises too and I've played every game expect outbreak and ORC with multiple platinum trophies. I'm really afraid that DBD will ruin the immersion of the killer character for me tho since some of the BHVR's balance desicions regarding killer power levels have been abysmal in the past few years.
They better make the killer A or S tier since I really don't want to see survivors BMing Nemesis or Jack Baker etc. They are bioweapons which require a ######### rocket launcher to kill most of them!
I'm guessing they are doing what they did with the Silent Hill chapter; taking something from multiple games of the franchise.
From RE1 they could take the mansion as the map or Jill/Chris/Barry/Rebecca as the survivor. I personally hope they make a mansion map since it could be really creepy.
From RE2 they could take the RPD as the map, Leon/Claire/Marvin/Ada as the survivor or Mr. X/G Birkin as the killer.
From RE3 they could take the clock tower as a map (a second one I'd hope if they don't make the mansion map), Carlos as the survivor or Nemesis as the killer.
I think they will compile the chapter from these three games but if they pick something from the other games I'd guess Luis from RE4 or Sherry from RE6 as the survivor would be an interesting pick. As for the killer it could be Spencer from RE0, Nosferatu from RE: CVX or Jack or Marquerite Baker from RE7. Damn, if they'd pick Marquerite as the killer I would main her, she is so creepy and her voice acting is awesome.
My main hope is that they make the chapter well, the killer strong enough and don't F up the survivor models or legendary skins as they did with Cybil Bennet for Cheryl.
