DCing, why bother?
So I've had an issue as of late with folks DCing. Why? I'm playing Trapper, one of the lowest tier killers in the game. I don't camp, I don't tunnel. In fact when I hook someone i walk away from the hook to give folks a chance to make the save. You'd think that I was playing toxic or something. I don't even play meta perks. No ruin/undying no devour hope, not even BBQ or corrupt intervention which is basically core on Trapper. It actually boggles the mind.
I think think that maybe it has to do with the Trapper having a power that is totally survivor dependent. It only works when survivors screw up. I play both Survivor and Killer, but when i play survivor against Trapper if i step in a trap I'm mortified and embarrassed. Like how did I not see that trap. Not only that but it's also broadcasted to my teammates and to the killer. Also it's not as if the Trapper is easy. It's playing chess with an opponent that is only using Queen pieces and you have pawns.
At any rate, I semi understand why maybe sometimes people dc. But do survivor's know that when they dc it isn't hurting anyone but their team. The killer gets points because you dc'd. It counts as a kill. I'm never upset when someone dc's when I'm a killer. It's more of a oh...ok. As opposed to when I'm playing survivor and one of my teammates dc's. Whelp I hope the killer decides to be merciful on us because we have 4 gens to do and someone's decided to peace out. When it's all said and dcing just helps the killer and you're not sticking it to anyone but your team.

Mostly just selfish people or something in life could’ve just gotten in the way. You never know

No clue I have never purposefully DC'd.
Why would you DC against a Trapper? LOL
I usually see people DC with Doctor, Plague, and Michaels.

I know right? Like if you're DCing against Trapper than I don't know what to tell you.

It's just mind boggling.

I did it once or twice back when I first started playing (right when Stranger Things came out) and was just a young sapling. All I can remember was getting super frustrated while also having a heart attack versing Ghost Face. I haven't done it since since I try to always respect my teammates and the killer. Though, if I'm on the hook and everyone is just crouched in a bush, I'll not struggle if I get to second stage.

I had one trapper that had that iridescent add on where you get injured disabling the traps. So he just trapped places where there was no other way to go but through the trap. Safe to say everyone got injured and died quickly. I wouldn’t DC but hook suicide is the next best thing. Usually if you can tell a killer is good and on top of that they use an iridescent add on the match is pretty much over lol

Oh know I understand. Honestly Myers is the killer that still gives me jump scares from time to time and those are actually the absolute high points when I play the game. Honestly I wish they would do what Home Sweet Home does and gives survivors more of a limited field of view just so we can get more of those jump scares.

As killer i can understand why. As survivor i have no idea since you can just point at a hook and move on.

Naw, Trapper's iridescent add ons are on the weaker end of iridescent. Survivors have tool boxes and brand new parts and flashlights that basically function as lighthouses. Like yes they can be frustrating for sure. But to be fair the Trapper can only carry one trap at a time, unless they have an add-on. Like his set up is super restrictive.

Basically, but I don't know why you would shaft your team. Like people need to think outside of themselves. I actually feel bad when my teammates die on hook. I know I know, minority here.

He managed to have a lot of traps out. Not just one. Plus the map was super small. We just had all around bad luck.

Yeah it maybe sounds like it. The stars aligned.

Yeah I actually had the same thing happen while playing Wraith. Mind you I semi feel like the Wraith buffs maybe had pushed him to be a tad oppressive sometimes.

I'm a killer main (I do play a lot of survivor) and I've messed with Trapper in the past, but I'm really into his game play. I love the amount of strategy. Using my survivor knowledge to think, hmmmm, if I was a survivor where would I not expect a trap. It's so satisfying to hear them go snap. I just wish he would get some solid cosmetics. Like he has the Krampus one, but that's kinda holiday dependent. I do like that he has a My Bloody Valentine cosmetic. Being set in Nova Scotia and all.

trapper is really boring to go against. whenever you step into a trap youre like "come on how the hell was i supposed to see this #########?". his power is nothing exciting and every time you go to a loop you need to pray that it isnt trapped.

....easy Trapper counter. Look down. It is exciting. It's actually a power you can disable.

on maps like the swamp you cant see a thing. also you dont really have time for that if youre in a chase

Well no you don't. But it's frustrating seeing folks know where my traps are and dodging them. Makes me think, hmm clearly i needed to place that better.

Yeah Oni isn't really my jam, but yeah his Minotaur outfit kinda makes me want to use him for sure.

Depends how stupid your team is.
If you lead a killer on a chase for over 1 minute and zero gens get done, just to see them all thirsting for the unhook points that they will clearly do in the killers face. Why should you reward it and stick around?

Like I know it's frustrating, but his visibility add ons aren't that good. I think they have a charm, but his traps are still very visible.

This drives me crazy. Like when I'm hooked and the killer camps and not a single gen pops. Like I'm more than happy to just hang on the hook while that happens. Or if I'm running the killer around and they are busy contemplating life or some such. Just please do gens.

not a reason to dc, more of a reason not to like trapper
