Why the Gate BM?

Gates are opened, everyone's healed, all are at gate...

Just exit, why the BM?

Because people feel the need to gloat when they're in power.

When survivors are at the exit, barely anything can touch them. Kind of like the occasional Ghostface teabagging your dying character for 2 minutes to then mori you a second before bleeding out.

Both sides have ways to try to show dominance.

Also it's a pvp game, people are mean and sore winners/losers.

I feel like survivors are way more sensitive and toxic. T baggin at the gate or when they drop a pallet, flash spam you, trash talk you post match especially if they lose.

You won and you need to make sure they know you won. Killers do something similar when they hit hooked survivors.

Depends on how the killer played. If the killer facecamped early game, hardcore tunneled, or used an ebony I'll t-bag at the exit gates and make them hit me or I'll just wait the time down and go last second. Heck I had a plague hardcore tunnel a David all game, I blocked for him so she lost him and then she started after me and I went the extra mile and t-bagged at every pallet. I ran for the last two gens she lost me and then dc'd. Was pretty funny.

It's just a little victory for me and it honesty shouldn't bother the person when it happens but that's just how taunts are, they affect some people more than others.

Personally, when I play killer it makes me chuckle and if I play like a jerk and they get out I fully expect t-bags and will normally nod and moonwalk with them.

Sometimes the survivors have a little gate party, they click their flashlights and butt dance and nod and point at each other. It’s like a little bonding session if the team is strangers but did well.

Sometimes you want to take a hit, especially if you didn’t get chased much since you get boldness points for it.

Sometimes you can farm an easy WGLF stack if two of you take a hit, which is an extra 25% bloodpoints.

Sometimes survivors just want to gloat, or be smug, and rub in the fact that they all get to escape.

I never bother going to the gates once EGC starts. it's not worth it

If i go to the gate and its too late and the t baggin starts i just q up again and lock in the good ole doc

Because they know you can't do anything about it, so feel the need to rub it in your face.

I know there's a lot of bm at exit gates regarding taunting, but I'll usually stand at the end so the killer can get an extra hit. We both get extra bloodpoints for it, right? Or is it taken as a gloat when I do that? I'm never sure.

    Bovinity Member Posts: 1,522

    Yep.

What's funny is just how long the match will go on if I do this. Like they simply CANNOT bring themselves to just leave, even if the timer ticks down to the last second. They just NEED to get that little teabag-click-click fest in, and if I don't oblige they don't know what to do with themselves.

Just chase them out and maybe get an extra hit for more blood points.

Honestly, i wait at the gate for more xp if the game was too short. I'm grinding iri shards and i have to stay in a game as much as possible. I don't tbag or fl clicks to be honest, i don't understand why people do that

  • BeHasU
    BeHasU Member Posts: 830

Yeah, i usually let killers hit me, but they have to come at me, i don't want to risk a noed hit

  • Owlzey
    Owlzey Member Posts: 442

If they didn't facecamp or tunnel, I'll usually stand at the edge so they can get a free down.

The only time I'll teabag is if it's a Ghostface so he can do it back Lol.

I play both side mostly survivor but I actually wait at the gate to give a free hit for the BP and i also get a chase BP for me. When i play killer i do want to hit you out the gate for the free BP i just don't Teabag and hate when you survivor do that, just get that free BP like me and it's all good no?

It's a code signalling you that they have way too much time to waste, help them out by leaving them in the lobby next time.

  • alphralphralphr
    alphralphralphr Member Posts: 36

I know that last part is sarcastic but as a survivor main, Blood Warden alone has made for some of the most fun gameplay this game has given me. It's so god damn stressful & I feel outplayed every time.

I feel like it's similar to Diversion, in that it's not super meta, and a lot of games it feels sort of like a wasted perk slot, but when it -does- work out, it's a really good time.

Oh man I had SO MUCH FUN using Diversion on KYF. My friend was Billy and I was full immersion: Spine Chill, Urban, Iron, and Diversion. It took him FOREVER to get me lol

Actually hitting a hooked survivor is to stop the screams.

It's just the equivalent of them going "nyeh-nyeh nyeh-nyeh nyeh nyeh!" and taunting you. I don't usually get bothered by it, but some people make it really easy to hate them or make it obvious they're just BMing, so I'll just remember their name and profile and facecamp them next game LOL.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna get mad just because somebody is staying around during EGC to help, but then there's people like this one guy I met, where I just AFKed while the EGC timer was out and this Nea wouldn't get out until the very last second. I then asked her why she even does that, and what the point is, and the only response there was is "youre so mad" "######### player" etc.

That was a real wake up call that it's not worth even giving these people the time of day. Better to just know who they are and facecamp + mori on em.

Im exactly the same way. Some killers deserve to be taunted. You know it gets them because they are clearly taking the game too serious to play all douchy. On the flip side I am grossed out when other survivors taunt a killer that played fair just to be dicks.

  • ohheyitsbobcat
    ohheyitsbobcat Member Posts: 1,751

Oh yeah I agree. I never taunt if the person is just playing normally or if there is seemingly a reason behind them acting the way they are. For example it's endgame and they've had all of two hooks, yeah I won't be mad if they facecamp or tunnel. Sometimes you just want a kill and I can't be mad at that.

Doing that at the beginning of the game though and the unlucky person that got camped or tunneled having like 2000 points. It just annoys me sometimes and taunting helps with it, especially if you see it working. 😀

I mean if they're already at the gate then I don't see the issue since it's free points for both sides.

If they don't want to hit me or they aren't at the gate then I'll just leave.

Unfortunately this is the result of a PvP game. A Survivor gets hit on the hook, face camped, waits 15 minutes for a lobby only to go against an ebony mori, gets tea bagged by Ghostface, or even gets a cruel message from a Killer and they decide to take out it out the next Killer. Just like Killers see tea bagging Survivors or flashlight clicking and decide to punish the next group for it. It's sad because nobody who had anything to do with it is getting 'punished'.

I also think the fact that even red tier Survivor rates are statistically shockingly low (and dropping) has created a lot of hostility. That is a balancing issue though and not the Killer's fault, but the Survivors cannot tea bag the game devs so they target those who win a majority of their games.

As a Survivor main I have literally never tea bagged, not even once. And I cannot flashlight to save my life or anyone else's so I just do not use them but if I did I wouldn't be rude with it. There are those of us out there, I like to think it's the minority who are toxic (Survivors and Killers alike) so hang in there! Happy gaming. <3

Hahaha yea, I'm sure most killers that hit a survivor after a hook totally do it because they want to stop the scream.

As a very new killer main, I was starting to get frustrated with how often I was getting BM from survivors. I was regularly getting stomped into the ground by players who were far more skilled than me but still felt it necessary to pour some salt in the wound by tbagging at every pallet and at the gates as well as spamming their flashlights at every opportunity. What made this even more frustrating is that I try really hard not to play killer in a scummy way. I avoid camping the hook, I try really hard not to do anything that could be construed as tunneling, I make sure to never go after someone who just got off the hook, etc. I want my survs to have fun because I know (from occasionally playing survivor myself) just how annoying those things can be. So when the effort is repaid with a bunch of BM and taunting, it sucks. And I'm sure many people would (and will) say 'you shouldn't play the game if you're going to be that sensitive'-- which is why I was on the verge of just quitting the game altogether. However, I recently encountered a group of survivors who definitely outplayed me, but in EGC one of them went up to a hook right at the door and let me 3 hook him (another player kept taking him down and he just kept going right back and standing in front of the hook, pointing at it), and then the one who was taking him off the hook left their item at the gate. And I was seriously so moved by those gestures. That sort of kindness can go a long way, and it's why I continue playing. On the flipside, I was playing against a Pyramid Head who kept catching me and another survivor (both of us were clearly new players) and taking us over to the gens and smacking the gen like 'finish it.' We finally understood after a couple of times, finished the gens, and PM literally escorted us to the gate. Me and the other survivor got mega points for that match. Those wholesome interactions are so cool. It's why, as a pig main, if someone is nice and wants to boop the shnoot, I'll let them do it and go on their way. I hope to pay those interactions forward as I improve at the game. Anyway, tl;dr can confirm that not all survivors and/or killers are toxic. And if you're one of the awesome people who does this sort of thing on either side, just know that those gestures can have a really positive effect and combat a lot of the negativity in the community <3

It's always the same. Killers have a rough match and complain about survivors bming and the next one against some solos they dominate and bm them on the hook or leave the last one to bleed out etc.

Same on survivor, they'll get dominated and complain about the killer bming, yet as soon as they win they'll click their flashlights and tbag.

That's why you should always take complaints about it with a grain of salt because people are always happy to do it when they are in a winning position.

It's usually taken as an insult every single time. If you're in the exit gate, leave. No need to waste 2 - 3 minutes of our time.

I think it's a pretty sizeable minority. But, I don't BM people either (and can't use a flashlight, either). When I'm in the exit gates and I know everyone else is also okay, I just leave. When I find the hatch, I jump in. I don't understand people who hover just to be rude.

Some people have so few accomplishments that when they succeed in something small like surviving a match of dbd, they have to celebrate HARD because lord knows it could be years before they do something right again.
